In the patch notes for Basic game and R&F, they state that Machine Gun now has 2 range. So this mod is no use for anymore

I could, but I won't. If you want to give the quadrime greater range, modify the file as described below, just for whatever unit you want to modify.

Thank you for this. I subscribed to a similar mod in Civ 5. The whole range 1 machinegun limitation is ludicrous. A range 2 MG unit does what MG units were intended for..strong defense of an area, as well as fire support for breakout offensives.

I figured out why (I think). I don't have my Civ VI installed in the default location. I think that is why. I manualy changed the Unit.xml file myself and then it worked (no mod necessary in this case)..

Enjoyed using this mod .. finally encouraged me to upgrade my field cannon since these guys never seemed to survive long when had to be next to the enemy.

Thanks a lot @fodazd that worked gr8 :steamhappy: Ok here is how I see it for City attacks, 1st lv infintry 2nd lv archers 3rd lv siege units fired at range out of city defense range/archers.Historically that's how it was done and how it can be done with the way this game is set up.

But I get it to each there own sir we all have our tastes.But again thanks so much for your time on this Mod as I agree with +2 for machine guns aswell.And thanks for your help with my request your the MAN. :steamhappy: So wonderful seeing +3 on all ranged siege units!!! :steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:

If you really want this mod, you can just create a copy of my mod that adds that feature:
* Go here and download the files for my mod: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/range-2-machine-guns.613735/
* Open Range.sql with a text editor, and add the following line:

UPDATE Units SET Range = Range+3 WHERE PromotionClass="PROMOTION_CLASS_SIEGE";

* Place the folder with the modified Range.sql in your mods-folder, or upload it to steam yourself with the steam workshop uploader.

Now you are done. I don't want to do this myself, because I only want to upload mods that I would enjoy playing myself... And I definitely don't want to accept money for a mod that consists of one line. O.O

I gave machine guns 2 range because I thougt they needed a buff. Almost all other ranged units have 2 range. I don't think siege units need a buff.

I will LOVE you FOREVER if you make a mod for ALL ranged siege units to have +3 range.
