I'll try to go through all the blueprints after the next big update. As far as the new inventory system goes, these may take a bit before they are updated for that mechanic. I have to play around with it a bit still but I've been away from the game as far as building goes. I'm also waiting till the game releases or is otherwise finished with the building aspect before I go forward on the rest of my bigger builds like the other Terran buildings, etc..

no update anymore ;-; ?

:D

After upgrading this thing to combat steel, the 4 medium thrusters on the bottom are now not able to lift. I was not aware that the armored blocks weighed more, though it makes perfect sense. Adjust accordingly.

Yay. Good job!

I've solved the fuel efficiency issue and will be updating this shortly. I removed all the medium thrusters and replaced them with small thrusters. The trade off is performance, which is not really needed for a mobile base. Now, on Akua, you get around 50+ minutes of flight time, though it's a bit slower than some may be used to moving on planets. Just as in StarCraft you really don't want this thing in combat at all but I recommend upgrading to at least hardened steel the first chance you get. I may just change the BP to all hardened steel though as it was a lot easier to come by hardened plates after pillaging the drone base. The only other resource that is not readily available is the Neodymium which is fairly abundant (depending on your settings) on the moon.

Updated for 6.0 stable. Added some visual changes. Still fighting with fuel efficiency. Note that even in space with the space thrusters activated (the larger thrusters in the back) the fuel only lasts over 10 minuets before running out. I suggest using the three medium thrusters in the back and leaving the large thrusters off when on planet and when in space. Its a hassle I know but until the larger thrusters stop sucking up fuel like crazy it's best to use the medium ones instead.
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 12 May, 2017 @ 6:48am
yeah. i'd prolly use it more like a rapid assualt defensive structure to distract enemy turrets and do some dmg
Diomedes8381  [author] 12 May, 2017 @ 12:45am
Yep that is the plan. If I can get it cheap enough I want to use it as a forward base/resupply depot/waypoint when raiding POI's
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 10:41pm
Cool stuff yo! them buildings is wat i'd have made them tho i'd have made the barracks a deco cv to make star craft bases and actually be the only people returning to the barracks xD. If you make a bunker will it be super cheap?
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 7:57pm
Cool I'm glad you like it! I have been eyeballing the factory with the idea of just making each building have a purpose for Empyrion. The factory would hold my advance constructor (the CC just has 2 large constructors) and would also store all the materials for my blueprints. I've also had the Bunker on my mind for a while now, just a matter of getting enough time to go forward with it. The barracks could hold the armory and repair devices. The Starport would naturally be the SV/CV lauch/landing pad. If only we could convince the devs of adding a simple AI block that lets things follow you around, we could all have a mobile Terran base wherever we go!

As far as the material for the CC, I made it out of basic steel with the idea of upgrading as I go so I can access it earlier in my survival games. Seeing as it was so inefficient before the changes I made this afternoon it's a wonder I was able to use it at all!
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 5:39pm
also will it be made of somethin stronger than steel?
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 5:24pm
will you do others like Barracks, engineering bay, factory and Star port?
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 5:24pm
its got a great likeness i really like that.
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 5:22pm
numbers look great! still lots of room for additional personal additions yeah?
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 1:36pm
I went ahead and published the changes. Hopefully it's better now!
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 12:47pm
Some stats for you guys with some changes I made but would like your input before I update this blueprint:
56 large fuel packs to fill 7 T1 fuel tanks
~1750 minutes of fuel on Omicron with all thrusters turned off (base mode)
943 minuets of fuel on Omicron with all planetary thrusters turned on and flat on the ground
18.5 minuets of fuel when moving forward (more or less depending on turning/rotating etc...)
25 minuets of fuel when hovering on Omicron
Power usage at 18% when moving forward on Omicron

How do those numbers look to you? Again these numbers are with the 3 large thrusters in the back turned off while on the planet.
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 12:14pm
Last note. The L and XL thrusters on the back are causing the fuel consumption issue, which sucks because aesthetically they are perfect for the design. I think what I will do is group the large rear thrusters together and only use those when in space. When on the planet I'll add and use 3 medium thrusters. Turning the large thrusters off and using those should make the fuel consumption on planets a little easier to swallow!
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 12:07pm
Well it seems the larger thrusters are really meant for space travel and not for planetary travel. I removed 16 med thrusters from the bottom, 8 thrusters from the top and the fuel consumption is still off the charts when on the planet (power consumption dropped to 84% when moving onOmicron/1G, still not great). I'm going to tinker a bit more and see if I can't get this things efficiency up and thank you for the notice!
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 May, 2017 @ 11:53am
Ok I checked it out. I don't remember this thing being this inefficient. My best guess is that it's the T1 generators and T1 fuel tanks with that large thruster on the back. I'm also seeing that's its a fuel hog which I also don't remember. The motion sensors are not present either so I guess the update I made didn't save. I'll be reworking this thing so that it doesn't suck up so much fuel. I should note that I added 2 T2 generators and the power consumption on Akua dropped to 12% when moving forward. My second best guess is I have too many thrusters on this thing. I'll be reworking it this weekend!
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 11:35am
whoa its power usage on akua hits 98%......
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 11 May, 2017 @ 2:48am
cool
Diomedes8381  [author] 10 May, 2017 @ 7:09pm
I've added motion sensors for the ramp and the shutter doors. The shutters open while in a vehicle now, and the ramp is set to extend when approaching from the front, then close behind you. It actually works out so that by the time you reach the start of the ramp it just finishes touching the ground. It will also begin to close just before you get to the top. Also, I chose to update this from the blueprint page in the game so hopefully these changes are present.
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 2 May, 2017 @ 11:18am
well them corners doo look really great
Diomedes8381  [author] 2 May, 2017 @ 11:11am
I would have liked to make it bigger myself but I'm using this in my survival game so I tried to be a bit conservative for the blueprint, then upgrade as I go.

I do plan on doing some more things Starcraft related as time allows and I have considered doing the other versions of the command center as well. To be honest I wish I could have gotten the corners to look more like they do in SCII.

Thank you for the kind words!
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 2 May, 2017 @ 10:35am
no worries. i have to say, of the two command centers i have seen (urs and one other), this one is the smalled but its the nicest. tho both have a great likeness the size of the other one woulda been nice but ultimate i think i'll stick with this one. will you do other buildinds? it would also be cool to see SC 1 style "Upgrades" like the "missile silo" or the comsat one.

Although it would be nice to have it in combat steel, i'd do it my self but it keeps morphing all the blocks that are some form of angle.
Diomedes8381  [author] 2 May, 2017 @ 8:57am
Thank you! I just found out about the retexturing when upgrading issue myself.
Mr.Wanaskiwin "Navarone" 2 May, 2017 @ 2:07am
Oh noes i upgraded this to combat steel and the whole thing completely morphed and retextured.... i love this design btw
Diomedes8381  [author] 11 Apr, 2017 @ 10:16pm
Actually the issue is the current entrance is 5 blocks wide and there is only one 5-wide option from the hangar doors, the rest are longer but the 5-wide option is only 3 blocks tall. When I redo the entrance I'll base it off of which hangar door I plan to use. I did notice that the shutters won't open when your in a vehicle and that's quite annoying. Thanks for the input though!
Sqweloookle 11 Apr, 2017 @ 8:05pm
I know, you could try having two hanger doors together with the actual doors touching. Unless you tried that already? lol

Yeah they do need to add bigger hanger doors in.

The problem is the shutters will not open automatically for small or hover vessels, only your character.
Diomedes8381  [author] 10 Apr, 2017 @ 9:16am
I tried adding the hanger doors but the sizes available don't fit the opening and as it stands right now the shutter doors fit in such a way that the SCV can still fit in without too many issues. I'd have to redesign the entrance which I planned on doing at some point anyways.
Diomedes8381  [author] 10 Apr, 2017 @ 12:16am
Sounds good I will make that change!
Sqweloookle 9 Apr, 2017 @ 10:52pm
About the command center I'd remove the shutter door and put the hanger doors instead ;)
Diomedes8381  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 4:37pm
I plan on attempting a bunker and seeing how that works out but I haven't started anything yet.
Sqweloookle 6 Apr, 2017 @ 6:27am
I hate decos, it will be so cool when the Devs give all the Deco blocks purpose.
I'm not saying not use them, I'm not going to. lol

Will you be doing any other Starcraft buildings and units?
Diomedes8381  [author] 5 Apr, 2017 @ 10:41pm
It's called a power storage, it's a deco block painted black
Sqweloookle 5 Apr, 2017 @ 8:38pm
what are those gold black wheel shaped things in the last image? I have no idea lol
