When your mod idea is so good that it gets added to the game
"The" SeanMacLeod 10. feb. 2018 kl. 1:48
Hmmm, radioactive gas........shades of "Fallout"......
Bjorn Ironside 9. feb. 2018 kl. 8:29
Thanks man!
If you can, make a nuclear bomb launcher. A bomb that releases a nuclear gas. This gas may take a long time to disappear. It would be an interesting mod.

Igor Amorim,
The mod will not be getting an update since the devs added a proper "firefoam shell" for mortars on B18. Thanks for the support ;)

「 LiTe Em uP 」 25. aug. 2017 kl. 2:12
so what is the range of this mortar??
Alfatag 17. aug. 2017 kl. 14:09
Not compatible with Combat Extended if using no ammo option, since you will not be able to create the mortar ammo.
PyroFox 14. juli 2017 kl. 10:49
where do i create shells to fire?
Riddle 78 4. juli 2017 kl. 16:38
You know,I support Firefoam Grenades. Seems more practical than mortars.
kingy10005 13. juni 2017 kl. 11:28

VoltronAWK 26. maj 2017 kl. 10:54
Great Mod! I hope to see it in A17!
K O B A 12. maj 2017 kl. 18:59
I for one think you should make it so raiders build five firefoam mortars during a siege. That way they really wear down your morale with all the god dang cleaning you have to do.
Omnom 26. apr. 2017 kl. 18:25
I'd like to see just firefoam shells, usable in regular mortars.
VoltronAWK 16. apr. 2017 kl. 9:16
Nice mod. Thanks!
Nick  [ophavsmand] 15. apr. 2017 kl. 15:08
XMorph, SilentStan,
I've updated the mod to provent enemy siege from making Firefoam mortars!!

Although I've tested it myself, I could be overlooking something.
If you are still experiencing the bug, please feel free to comment about it!
More feedback is always welcome!!!
Martin Harris 15. apr. 2017 kl. 6:42
You should make it so that raiders cant use it, because it gets really stupid when raiders shoot firefoam...
TKD_Fishbord 15. apr. 2017 kl. 5:22
THIS IS BRILIANT
Nick  [ophavsmand] 8. apr. 2017 kl. 10:17
tbjones1,
This mod doesn't add any new shells.
You can use the normal shell for the firefoam mortar!
tbjones1 8. apr. 2017 kl. 8:05
how do i make the firefoam shells???
SilentStan 6. apr. 2017 kl. 1:23
Just had a siege turn up, and begin shelling my base with a firefoam mortar.

2/10 now I have tons of cleanup
Thop 5. apr. 2017 kl. 17:17
After having half the map burn down at the begining of the game, I am glad I have this mod now.
isRyan 23. mar. 2017 kl. 11:55
@Vatsyayana the vanilla mortars have infinite range, the inside of that circle represents where they can't fire because it's too close
MADxingjin 23. mar. 2017 kl. 5:56
feels like being free from building fireform everywhere
[R0T] Vatsyayana 22. mar. 2017 kl. 16:49
A great idea, but like the vanilla mortar, it needs at least double if not quadruple the range.
MonkeyJorm 21. mar. 2017 kl. 20:18
This is genius, this feels like it should be part of the actual game.
Yolsos 21. mar. 2017 kl. 16:15
GENIUS!

Interesting Addon...

glass 19. mar. 2017 kl. 19:31
i cant imagine ever using this, but awesome
"The" SeanMacLeod 19. mar. 2017 kl. 18:03
If you want the grass cut, use Beasts of the Rim and tame a few megasquid. They seem to really like eating my lawns.
Call_Me_Derpy 19. mar. 2017 kl. 16:23
Maybe add an automated version of it, at a much higher cost (and very high energy use) - automated tends to be OP in most things :P
cpc8472 19. mar. 2017 kl. 11:32
This is sort of what I envisioned when I first built fire foam pods around my colony. I thought if a fire was burning within the radius shown when you click on it a pod would fire off and land in the fire and then go off. Nope. After a lightning strike started a brush fire I sat there waiting for exactly that to happen. And nothing did until the flames made contact with the pod. Bummer. This is the closest thing to what I was hopping for. Now if it could just be automated that would be great!
cpc8472 19. mar. 2017 kl. 11:32
@Su-ps-Kitsune: Just don't think of it as a "mortar" but simply as a foam pod luncher. Probably using the existing mortar was probably the easiest way for the author to make this mod work the way he wanted it to.
Supa 19. mar. 2017 kl. 8:06
I like this idea but it seems like overkill, especially with the higher accuracy and lower cooldown. If I can build one mortar that exceptional what is holding back the rest? If I could easily disable the boosted stats I might use it because this is very cool and would let me quickly make smaller fire breaks with just a few posts and a ceiling to protect the foam.
IamgRiefeR7 18. mar. 2017 kl. 23:38
@Death Cutting grass is time costly and pulls your colonists away from other duties that they could be doing.
DrakeWarrior 18. mar. 2017 kl. 19:13
Ok, thanks for explanation.
Idea of the mod is pretty... "unorthodox" way of dealing with fire.

I like it, though. Feels like another type of thinking on things.
"direct, fast, safe and costy"
instead of
"strategical, preemptively built and cheap"
:steammocking:
Dire 17. mar. 2017 kl. 9:59
Why didn't you just cut the grass (screenshot 2) :steamfacepalm: haha, nice mod!
Nick  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2017 kl. 18:12
rudew, Thanks for the reply!
I agree with some of the things you are saying.
The foam's AoE is pretty big, plus the foam will block any flame from spreading any farther.

I'm updating the mod with decreased accuracy. 4 to 10.
It might be too extreme, but I want more random elements in it. Also I can easily reduce it back afterwords.
Please tell me if it's not enough/too much. More feedback is always welcome :)
Nick  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2017 kl. 17:22
DrakeWarrior,
The firefoam mortar is way more accurate than the vanilla mortars.(35tiles to 4tiles)
Also, since my Accurate mortars mod only changes vanilla mortars' stats,
it won't effect this mod.
rudew 16. mar. 2017 kl. 17:21
Wow, I did end up testing before you actually responded, so I knew pretty much everything but its accuracy, You almost might wanna slightly decrease that accuracy, cause by the time your using these you already have enough supplies to fire at least 2 shots at things, and the AoE of the foam is a decent enought size aslong as you take care of it before it becomes a huge issue.
Nick  [ophavsmand] 16. mar. 2017 kl. 17:17
rudew,
The firefoam mortar's accuracy is improved to 4.(other mortars are 35)
Also, the cooldown is reduced to 15sec.
And no, it shouldn't hurt any animal or structure.
not that I recommend shooting cows with it...
DrakeWarrior 16. mar. 2017 kl. 6:46
Is this one made as accurate as vanilla mortars? And does it gets affected by your Accuracy mod?
