kazuya0010 22 Jun, 2022 @ 11:37pm
Can you please make it compatible with wotc?
Blaze 21 Jun, 2022 @ 6:24am
Does Psi Operatives with Solace completely negate it?
Epic Store Exclusive 2 Mar, 2022 @ 8:40pm
I would pay good money for a wotc version of this
Kamikaze 21 Jan, 2020 @ 11:57am
Man, I wish this same mod has a WotC version. Hacking currently is so limited.
QuickMole 6 Oct, 2019 @ 10:57pm
It crashed the game before it started. I really want to use it. Any ideas why? Pop up box came up saying unable to load.
InterventoR 24 Sep, 2019 @ 6:17am
In my opinion, this mode in "top one" in order to make base game's hacking useful. If only hacking investment were put your soldier a custom state, instead of stun. Or better, disabled your action points for next round(s). In this state its highly exploitable and depends on user's "goodwill" because of Revive Protocol, Mind Shield, Solace etc so you can easily cancel your stun state.

thats a great one, hoping someone would pick up the code!
花兔 25 Nov, 2018 @ 4:04pm
You're such a proud squirrel
花兔 25 Nov, 2018 @ 4:54am
hope is updated for WotC one day :)
müendiz 6 Nov, 2018 @ 3:02am
Also with XCOM 2 Mod Launcher I get this error and the game becomes unresonsive.
"AppDebugMessage: Error detected attempitng to load of package: HackingAPInvestments"
müendiz 5 Nov, 2018 @ 10:34am
In the launcher windows I get and and exclamation mark next to mod name. And when I mouse over it I get this error.
This mod is not compatible; but only contains content changes. Use at your risk.
What should I do?
花兔 27 Jul, 2018 @ 12:04pm
@robojumper
I can't start the game
SEVEN GOON SESH 4 May, 2018 @ 7:08pm

Please update, I'd use this mod in an instant!
Viceroy Günther von Lichler 1 Sep, 2017 @ 3:54pm
Unfortunately it does not work with WotC. Hope you update it OP, it's the best take on hacking that i have seen so far :)
Black Raven 30 Aug, 2017 @ 2:02pm
So is this WotC compatable, has anyone tested it yet?
Cresto127 27 Aug, 2017 @ 1:34am
This is a great idea, still need to playtest but what are your thoughts on nerfing hack skills to compensate?
pauloel7 14 Aug, 2017 @ 6:16pm
LW2 compatible, in my experience.
DaddyHammer 24 Jun, 2017 @ 6:43am
shutdown Mech for 2 turns where i can find for make it more maby shutdown him for 4 turns ;D ?

I here just to say that the Idea of using Intel to raise the chance is amazing, maybe combining both stun time and intel.
What about an item that is one use only that is a pen-drive and if you use it to hack you intantly get a +25/50/75 chance on succes. But to craft this item you need intel
Ickleslimer 17 May, 2017 @ 9:37am
Shayminthedoctor, the only problem with that would be the countdown timers, you might have to mess around with the coding so the timer stops before the AP investment. Good idea though, so long as it's optional.
darktoto 29 Apr, 2017 @ 3:29am
+1 Shayminthedoctor , AP investment first then the hack (if i understood correctly)
Pixy 28 Apr, 2017 @ 6:16pm
I'm not sure if you'd be able to do it, but if you could make it so the hack doesn't take effect until the AP has passed that would make more sense. You're hacker would also be disabled durring this time because the have to concentrate, like it is now.

Just an idea, not even sure if it's possible :)
Luke Danger 28 Apr, 2017 @ 1:39pm
So, I discovered that there's a way to get around this penalty. If you put a Mindshield on a soldier, they become immune to the penalty. It may kick in hard if they deploy without a mind shield (I once hid a 5 AP hack at the end of a mission because 'welp, may as well since it's the last moment', then the next mission that soldier deployed she was stunned for a few turns from that AP). I'm not sure how you could get around it given the Mindshield was never meant to interact with it, but something to be wary of. Of course, you ARE consuming a utility slot that could go for a skulljack, medikit, or other quite useful item, so... yeah
Epic Store Exclusive 27 Apr, 2017 @ 2:10am
I would love if you could make a version where you can spend intel instead of AP.

It's a bigger and (In my opinion) more balanced price
rfmacros 26 Mar, 2017 @ 3:47pm
Gee, I don't know... to me, it actually seems kind of OP. I mean, stunning a soldier for two turns is a TINY price to pay to control an enemy MEC in the middle of a firefight. Seriously, that's like a no-brainer. Definitely not too bad. In fact, I'd be MORE reluctant to part with intel.
BE02-Raziel 24 Mar, 2017 @ 11:27am
Okay, I'm not sure if this was the cause of it or that there's some LW2 incompatibility here. I had a Hacker Spec. -5AP a security tower and gets 5 stun. As it should work. After that, I used my Medic Spec. to Revive her and she's just fine in the next turn (after hacking the tower). A bit afterwards, I used the Officer's Command ability on the Hacker Spec. for her to be on Overwatch against reinforcements. Once it's our turn, the Hacker Spec. can't do anything on that turn as both her AP was out. Then the next turn, she had only one AP, forcing me to use the last Command ability on her to achieve what I wanted. Turns after that worked normally.

Just a bit of a bug report, I guess.
Gravemind 20 Mar, 2017 @ 12:50am
Thanks for having controller support.
Vast majority of mods that add new buttons don't, so this is really appreciated.
KoKINGoK 18 Mar, 2017 @ 11:47am
Nice!
robojumper  [author] 17 Mar, 2017 @ 7:14am
@XelNigma
I am afraid not, that's more of an issue on the flash side of the screen I think.
XelNigma 17 Mar, 2017 @ 7:10am
Question: Does this mod also fix the extreamly poor responce the hack screen has? Im really tired of clicking on the high value option and it not counting.
StefanFr 17 Mar, 2017 @ 7:01am
Have a Lily Shen soldier, a specialist (obviously).
Tried to perma-hack a MEC, spent a shitload of AP to boost my chances. I failed.
"It... Beat me...? It actually beat me..." Shen said, collapsing onto her knees in complete shock.

This actually happened to me yesterday, and never in a game have I ever witnessed something as comically realistic as that scenario. All because of this mod.
10/10 robojumper, you deserve it.
Christy 16 Mar, 2017 @ 6:54pm
Yes, I think spending Intel to get the hack chances be higher is a much better idea than stunning. It honestly is not worth doing if you going to be stunned for a turn or two. Too much can happen on the battlefield by then.
CHEEEN 16 Mar, 2017 @ 2:28pm
a way to have better hacking is much needed. in the 1.0 you at least got better stat the more you hacked, but right now in lw chances to actually hack a dogshit lamppost are practically zero.

i believe hacking objectives shouldn't lock you out and shouldn't have any debuffs on failure. and failed hacks on robots should definitely not result in robot getting bonuses. i mean what the fuck mind control doesn't have any adverse effects on failure, why is hacking so shit then?
Green Raven 16 Mar, 2017 @ 5:05am
Maybe an alternitive would be spending intel? It would be another use for this resource, and solace wouldnt break it.
BE02-Raziel 15 Mar, 2017 @ 10:32pm
@Belhedler While Revival module does have that description, I also vaguely remember having one of my Specialists without the Revival ability receiving the charges for it. I'm guessing it's one of my lower ranking Specialists. But surely, no one with the right mind would risk using a module that may not actually work on the battlefield. So, I'm not a 100% on this. I might as well test that on a relatively easy Operation...

@-bg- Oh God... I totally forgot about Solace's benefits... .-. That changes things.
Insufferable Smartypants 15 Mar, 2017 @ 10:23pm
This is a really neat idea.
-bg- 15 Mar, 2017 @ 9:20pm
eh even if you revival protocol you'll need to bring 2 specialist and the 2nd specialist still need to spend 1 AP for this.

Solace however.....
buchanan.johnd 15 Mar, 2017 @ 7:49pm
House rule: No revival protocol on this.
buchanan.johnd 15 Mar, 2017 @ 7:48pm
This is so brilliant. I love getting hack rewards, but the fail rate can be so high. This gives you some options. Thank you for making this.
Belhedler 15 Mar, 2017 @ 3:47pm
@Oberfuhrer-Razgriz the charges of Revival require you to have the skill first. At least that's how it is spelled in the mod description.
S.Flo 15 Mar, 2017 @ 1:54pm
Huh, that's actually really clever approach to adding some depth to hacking.
Jorkie 15 Mar, 2017 @ 12:04pm
In my opinion using more than 2 APs feels like cheating. 0,1 and even 2 if you don t have to move feels fair.

Of cource i can choose to use only 2 and i do. Just my 2 cents.

Thx for the Mod.
BE02-Raziel 15 Mar, 2017 @ 10:31am
Just to add my input in regards to getting stunned and using Revival Protocol to remove that status effect.

In my LW2 campaign, all of my squad groups have their own designated medic. Not all of them have multiple Specialists but in most cases in an Operation where I have more than one Specialist, the other Specialist would most likely be a dedicated Hacker.

And I have to mention that I use Grimy's Loot mod, as much as it is imbalanced. Anyone familiar with the mod would be aware that there's a module for Gremlins that increases (or rather, adds) Revival Protocol uses.

So with this setup, I'm likely to use the tactic of using Revival Protocol after investing high amounts of AP for use in Hacking.

I honestly have no clue how to counter this "exploit" but I thought I'd let you know one instance they can be used on multiple occasions.

Also, I wonder if the Officer "Fall Back" and "Command" ability affect stunned units.
