@shavy:

As I stated before, the problem was "it resulted in my Sharpshooter having a negative dodge stat."
The negative dodge stat wasn't too harmful in and of itself, but I think that the same 'debuff' could happen to other stats that PCSs increase, such as Aim and Health. (It'd only lower them, not make them negative.) But I'm pretty sure it just has to do with the timing of when you get the "all PCSs are better" upgrade.

Without getting too technical, I think this was the problem.
If a PCS gets merged onto a soldier *before* you get the PCS upgrade, removing the merged PCS *after* you get the upgrade will actually permanently lower the stat the PCS was improving.
Shavy 24 mrt 2019 om 17:14
so would you explain why this a problem? i didn't quite understand that.
KeeganKLM 16 aug 2018 om 9:39
I don't even know if the issue I have is fixable, and it's not a huge deal (to me), but I wanted to at least let it be known in case somebody else experiences the same issue.

I got some of my PCSs "merged" before I got the upgrade that improves the PCSs. I then downloaded this mod and used it to remove a Dodge PCS, but it resulted in my Sharpshooter having a negative dodge stat. I figured the reason was because before the PCS upgrade, it was +18 Dodge, but after the PCS upgrade, it was supposed to be +24, but since it was merged, it wasn't upgraded.

Basically, the merged PCS on my soldier had the stat increase of the original PCS, but when removing the merged PCS, the mod was decreasing the stat as if I had the upgraded PCS, taking away more than it should.

@Toni:
Can't see it mentioned in the WoTC Highlander change log [github.com].

I don't know if Firaxis fixed this in WoTC.

But yeah, great mod.

@GauravDas:
I see it's been a while, but in the hope you're still maintaining this, back may of last year you said, "Yes, this mod is not required if you are using LW2 1.3 or the Community Highlander."

I would think it should be safe to assume then that if WotC alone didn't fix this issue, the WotC Community Highlander probably does?

Gave this a thumbs up in any case, since it's a relatively elegant workaround for an otherwise very annoying and hard to squash bug.
DarkPhoenix 18 sep 2017 om 4:46
I've got this bug multiple times. Would be cool if mod could be updated for WotC.
Malidictus 11 sep 2017 om 17:49
Out of curiosity, does this work with War of the Chosen and is it even still needed?
zion6 18 aug 2017 om 16:01
You should mention in the notes this is not needed with LW2after version 1.3
GauravDas  [auteur] 16 mei 2017 om 4:42
Yes, this mod is not required if you are using LW2 1.3 or the Community Highlander.
Dragon32 15 mei 2017 om 10:34
Looks like the fix got ported into the Community Highlander from LW 2 1.3

Thanks :)
Boisegangpc 14 mei 2017 om 17:44
If you're using LW 1.3, yes. If you're using 1.1/1.2 or the vanilla game, then no.
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 14 mei 2017 om 17:12
Is this going to be redundant with 1.3??
From the changelog
- Fix base game bug with PCS items disappearing from soldiers.
GauravDas  [auteur] 8 apr 2017 om 22:30
@boisegangpc
Haven't tested it personally, but I had a look through the Shadow Ops classes source code a while back, and I am 100% positive this mod will work with it.

The Dragoon class applies the second PCS on the proper (CombatSim) slot. This mod just lists any equipped PCS chips which do not have a proper inventory slot (Unknown) location.
Boisegangpc 8 apr 2017 om 20:39
Does this work with the standalone Shadow Ops Dragoon or the Shadow Ops Class packs? The Dragoon gets a GTS perk to get a second PCS slot, but I'm not sure if that causes any issues.
ebeneezerdahk 22 mrt 2017 om 22:13
Seems to be working well with LW2 and lots of other mods also installed. Provides a much needed fix for a slightly annoying bug, thanks GauravDas.
Maebalzurakin 12 mrt 2017 om 17:08
I would love multiple PCS! Ideally added as a proving ground project so you need to work to upgrade it. And as long as you are in there tinkering, an advanced project that adds 3 slots and another project to add them to sparks would be amazing.

I have heard that another mod..."Shadow Ops LW2 Class Pack" has a class called Dragoon with a perk that adds two PCS. It opens a new window with two slots or something like that. However, I want multiple PCS on all of my squad and not just 1 class.

GauravDas  [auteur] 5 mrt 2017 om 22:15
Yeah, could be a mod conflict. Well LW2 patch 1.3 notes do mention that the PCS bug will be fixed, so it's all good.
Nitsah 5 mrt 2017 om 22:12
Anyways I don't know how to upload it anyways.
Nitsah 5 mrt 2017 om 22:11
I don't know I think it could be just one mod relaetd after multipel testing. Just going to play other stuff until that mod and lw2 pumps out its next update.
GauravDas  [auteur] 5 mrt 2017 om 22:06
@Touka
Can you share your save file? It should be at "Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\SaveData".

Note that the option only shows up if the soldier has a merged PCS chip. And in my testing, I have never encountered the bug when equipping a PCS chip through the armory. But I don't exactly understand why the bug happens, so a save file would be helpful.
Nitsah 5 mrt 2017 om 21:09
Well the option doesn't show up for me.
Nitsah 5 mrt 2017 om 18:17
Weird I get mine from doing it in the armoury. Hopefully it fixes that until lump slaps his update out.
Nitsah 5 mrt 2017 om 18:05
LOL THANKS I WAS G OING CRAZY AND SACKED MY CAMPAIGN
GauravDas  [auteur] 4 mrt 2017 om 22:27
@aleksandr777
Updated. Thanks a lot!
GauravDas  [auteur] 3 mrt 2017 om 20:29
@Arekusandoru
PCS chips equipped on a soldier sometimes disappear, but the soldier keeps the stat bonus. You can then equip another PCS chip without losing the previous stat bonus.
This can happen multiple times, and the soldier can end up with crazy high stats. I managed to make a 72 mobility soldier that you can see in the screenshots.
Imagine how game-breaking stacking aim on your soldiers would be. And it can totally happen accidentally.
Mad Scientist 3 mrt 2017 om 17:26
What exactly that bug is?
BE02-Raziel 3 mrt 2017 om 9:29
Your mod and recent update to it just saved me from losing a pair of really good PCSs just now. Again, thanks for this mod!
Kaerius 3 mrt 2017 om 3:41
I'd love a multi-slot PCS mod. Though the primary thing I want an extra slot for are the LW2 Fire Control chips. Heck I wouldn't mind if the extra slot was limited to only LW2 perks(no vanilla stat bonus perks) or even only Fire Control.
DabHand 3 mrt 2017 om 2:57
Make it GTS or unlocked by individual rank (hell why not allow 3 PCS at the highest soldier level), but either way don't limit what goes in them. Looking forward to this immensely!
Dom 3 mrt 2017 om 2:06
Yea I would love a 2nd pcs slot and maybe have it only allow for aim chips only. Or don't...depends if people want it to remain somewhat balanced.
GauravDas  [auteur] 3 mrt 2017 om 1:30
Not really sure. Will try to keep it scalable.
DabHand 3 mrt 2017 om 0:19
Out of curiosity would the multi PCS chip mod be scalable (i.e. like vanilla weapon slots), so that bonuses like the Dragoon GTS upgrade give an additional 1 to make 3 for that class?
GauravDas  [auteur] 2 mrt 2017 om 22:29
Alright, I'll do it.
Wolf 2 mrt 2017 om 21:58
I for one would like a multi-PCS mod. As for what's allowed in the second slot, I'd like an option for it to be unrestricted in what PCS's are allowed even if it wasn't the default.
GauravDas  [auteur] 2 mrt 2017 om 21:27
I will update this mod to add a remove merged PCS button instead of modifying the existing PCS button.
GauravDas  [auteur] 2 mrt 2017 om 21:04
I had a look at LW2 armory code. It's pretty easy to add another PCS option without breaking anything else.

I can start on a multi-PCS mod if people really want it. The only question is what PCS chips should be allowed in the second slot.
DabHand 2 mrt 2017 om 11:53
The Dragoon class GTS upgrade allows an additional PCS. I havent got there to test it with LW2 but l assume it has the necessary gui changes to show it > i.e. borrow the code and credit the author? LW2 would certainly benefit from a multi-PCS mod and l gather the appetite by Pavonis to do it is low (plenty else to be doing l guess). So a mod like this would rock.
BE02-Raziel 2 mrt 2017 om 9:47
Great to know. Thanks.
GauravDas  [auteur] 2 mrt 2017 om 9:36
@Oberfuhrer-Razgriz
Definitely applies to mission infiltration squad selection. Or any other mission types for that matter.

By squad management, I assume you mean through the Avenger. No problems here.
BE02-Raziel 2 mrt 2017 om 9:10
> The bug occurs when applying a PCS though squad selection.
And I was like... OH SH!T. Well... now I know... Hang on, does this apply to mission infiltration squad selection or squad management screen or both? I technically outfit my squad through the squad management screen because I'm paranoid of crashes on the infiltration squad screen.

Also, in regards to the matter of modifying the UI, probably check in with the guys who did "LW2: ShowMeTheSkills Revived"? They did something pretty cool for squad selection screens in that they made primary weapon upgrades visible and shortcut'd there.
GauravDas  [auteur] 2 mrt 2017 om 8:38
@Domiel
Definitely possible. The game already allows a soldier to equip multiple PCS chips. Only problem is modifying the UI to add support for multiple PCS chips.
Dom 2 mrt 2017 om 8:24
Since you seem to know a thing or two about pcs mods, is there a way to add an extra pcs slot for long war 2 so you can use one of the fire % pcs chips along with another one?
