[VisSE] Aluminium Armor 2 - Old Armor as Aluminium

Yeah, we're working on a HUGE combat overhaul. Unfortunately we, actually especially Zader, is bogged down with RL stuff during busy summer work season, but it's still progressing. Neimoh was also doing a big tech mod to go with it, but he hasn't talked much lately. It may be necessary for us to do some of the tech stuff ourselves.

Darkstar's been a major collaborator; he released the API for the latest generation of laser weapons... but Zader actually got him started on that; a lot of it is Zader's code. I'd say Darkstar himself is probably the most visible name right now, followed by the folks making the little laser mods based on that API; we'll probably make our big reappearance later in the year.

GSF sounds like the life blood SE needs :)

Haha yeah I understand. If you're interested, this https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1701914678&searchtext=gsf+gyros is one of the more recent samples of GSF work. This is Zader's baby, born after an argument from a troll on a big server. he's the big code guy and the guy who honestly does most of the hard work and pulls everything together. My main thing is writing background & lore, I'm also full of ideas that sometimes get used.

awesome. thanks heaps coz tbh its been a weight knowing people want to use my mods but are always asking about updates. i do care i just really dont want to have to do it after i did spend like 3 years playing and modding SE u know.

Ah, that's the one I was starting to think it was. Neimoh doesn't like our old reactor system... he's been pretty inactive lately but when he turns up again I'll see what he thinks of this. It's a lot more comprehensive. Tritium... Interesting. Deuterium-tritium reactions... That IS the way current fusion research is heading, I think it's a lot cleaner than De-De reactions. I'll subscribe myself and give this a whirl.

oh soz its Oxy Hydro v2
The Nameless 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:35pm
Alright, we have our own reactors out already (the ones in the old energy weapon mod) that may be modernized or, since they work just fine, retained as they are. And we have a new reactor tech on the development floor, too. But I'll look at that one and I'll make sure that if we do update it we keep the faith. I'm... not entirely sure which it is, but I'm still looking.

the hydrogen reactor mod is my old baby so if u modernise that one treat it good !
The Nameless 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:16pm
Wow thanks! :D I'll tell the guys!
Visentinel  [author] 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:16pm
il go one better, you can take the whole lot, anything on my shop u want to adopt feel free ;)
The Nameless 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:14pm
Do you mind if the GSF team adopts this mod, since you think you're unlikely to take enough of an interest to update it?
The Nameless 20 Jul, 2019 @ 12:56pm
It's not dead, for every one that retires or just vanishes, somebody new picks up the torch. Darth Biomech is gone, for example, but then there's GSF, the guys who adopted me. Cython doesn't seem to be very active, but there's Darkstar. Shaostoul has retired because he wanted to do this as a career and people didn't pay his Patreon enough to live off of, but there are other up-and-comers out there. New mods are coming up, but old ones aren't getting updated.

If you haven't played in awhile, you might try out the latest generation of true-laser energy weapons. It's just getting started and the fixed weapons on the couple that are out seem to be pretty cool, although watch out for the one with the turrets. That guy made turrets with limited firing arcs, so of course they get stuck on something outside their arc and shut down until you relaunch the game.

for now im done, i dont think il return to the game and want to play so much that i even update all of my mods. this game does hold a special place since i did play over 4000 hours of it, never know maybe in a few months when im done with all these new games i have lol.

have most of the modders all retired to ? i had no idea it was so dead on the workshop =o

Have you retired from SE modding like so many others or is there any hope you'll give this just enough attention to stabilize it? xD
Visentinel  [author] 20 Jul, 2019 @ 8:16am
yeah its pretty old xD

Hey, so, I love the way this mod used to work.

But, it seems quirky now. The blocks glitch and sometimes aren't visible during construction. Other times they look like they're still there after deconstruction, but I can fly through them, and the game crashes soon after. The problems usually don't start until after I've ground or built a number of armor blocks.

I suspect that either a new update is needed, or maybe the old textures have a memory leak or something; either way, some TLC is becoming a need, here.

Does this generate ore veins on planets to?
Visentinel  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 8:42am
=)

Ok, THIS mod is what I've been looking for. We don't build planes and space ships out of steel. Titanium and aluminium for lighter materials, as it's not about armor, it's about airtightness. This is a mandatory mod on my game from now on.
THANKS A LOT!

Hi Visentinel
I miss the old heavy armour pattern. Subscribed, thank you. Do you think if you have time you could make this camo pattern available on heavy armour please? Just like the old days!! :)

aluminium armor - when u just want to look, like u have armor
Visentinel  [author] 1 Mar, 2017 @ 12:56pm
you can run both side by side, then you can have all 3 armor textures in the history of the game
arreclain 1 Mar, 2017 @ 10:32am
How will this mod interact with the old one? Oh, and thank you!
