MegaHarald 30. dec. 2021 kl. 17:48
so what happened to the non slavic people on earth?
Brulikrax 5. apr. 2020 kl. 0:06
Thanks man. This is a start.

It's been a long time since I even looked at this. but I think you can do the following:

Open the namelist called Slavic.txt, here you'll see that names1 and names2 are both Russian, male and female respectively. The way to fix this would be to move the first_names_female paragraph from names2 up to names1 and completely remove everything remaining of names2, like the female surnames. Just do the same for the others with gender congruence and change the numbers to the new order.

I'm not sure that this is going to work, but I hope it does. Everyone is free to do whatever he wants with this mod.
Brulikrax 4. apr. 2020 kl. 12:28
Hello, could you share even with a PM how to do such a modification, if that is not much of a problem? Thank you.

Update?
Timirald 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:54
@Sonichu
I don't knwo much about modding.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:10
@Timirald - It wouldn't be too hard changing it, as it would essentially just require some cut and paste. I personally don't want to do it because I feel that it would be an unsatisfying solution and would, for me, create a bigger problem than the current bug. Whenever you see a potential leader with a blank name, just type Slavko/Slavica Slavic or Ivan(a) Ivanov(a) and you'll no longer have any issues. Yeah, having to do this sucks, but it's still preferable to having east- and west slavs with inauthentic names.

You're, of course, free to make this change yourself, though. I can even link to your mod from here, if you want to upload your version to the workshop.
Timirald 27. dec. 2018 kl. 22:53
@Sonichu
Alrighty, didn't read the bug section. >.>
Would a possible fix be realising a mod with less authentic surnames but no blank name bugs, or would it be too much work?
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 27. dec. 2018 kl. 18:11
@Timirald - Yeah, the blank names bug is known, if you just take a look at the description. It's not game-breaking, but it sure is annoying.

When I tried it with this update it worked a lot worse in the ruler creator, as in not at all, but it worked much better while I was in-game. I don't know why this is, but it's great if it's consistent, as manually naming your first ruler is no trouble at all.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 27. dec. 2018 kl. 18:05
I've updated the mod to the current version. I added names to all the missing categories that I could think of. So no more english-named ships or armies.

This mod is essentially finished now, I'll just try to clean it up a little and add some more names for everything.

I'm very glad that so many people have enjoyed it, it's taken me quite a lot of effort, even though it's a very simple mod.
Timirald 27. dec. 2018 kl. 4:39
Seems very broken, I choose it, and sometimes it fails to generate names.
Dogmaticus 8. dec. 2018 kl. 0:17
THANK YOU! After playing Civilization 6 as Poland for couple last weeks, and dominating the earth - I came to a conclusion, that I need to take this game further, and... decided to create a xenophobic, spiritual Slavic dominated Earth, that evolved from my Polish Empire in Civilization 6... so those names are what I really, REALLY needed :).
WingedHussar 25. aug. 2018 kl. 19:19
Yaaaay! So happy you decided to make this mod! Thanks man :D
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2018 kl. 9:42
It should work without any problem
bratrstvoNODKane 8. mar. 2018 kl. 8:13
Does it still works on 2.x ?

Awesome job Sonichu. Greatly appreciated. Really made my Stellaris games more meaningful.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 24. jan. 2018 kl. 7:41
I've made a relatively big update for the mod, it now includes many more planet names, names for colonizers, constructors and transports.
DrHouseMusic 1. jan. 2018 kl. 10:35
Brilliant, good job

Love this mod. Thank you very much for making it and sharing with us.
usmc_BF 10. okt. 2017 kl. 12:04
Yea, its like communism, it sounds great but then it fails, actually Slavic congress was both Anti-Austrian and Anti-Russian... Im gonna leave now, you gotta point, I shouldnt waste my time critizing someone else's mod.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 10. okt. 2017 kl. 11:25
It's fine that you're personally not interesed in Pan-Slavism, but why do you have to take it out on my mod? It's a fact that the West Slavs were very interested in Pan-Slavism at it's height, considering that they hosted the first congress (Czechia) and made both the flag and anthem (Poland).

Honestly, you're just making a fool out of yourself with your ignorant comments.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 10. okt. 2017 kl. 11:24
usmc_BF - You obviously haven't checked it out properly considering that names7 (male) and names8 (female) are Czech, names12 (male) and names13 (female) are Slovak, and names4 (male) and names5 (female) are Polish.

Every subgroup of Slavs have gotten 3 namelists each, discounting that male and female are seperated for most of them. And if you look at the lists in the file itself you'll see that these traditional Czech and Slovak names take up as much space as any other.

If anything, the West Slavs are over-represented in this mod, considering how small the West Slavic group is compared to the East Slavic in real life.
Kepos 10. okt. 2017 kl. 9:32
+1 @Sonichu
Like to play Communist style, so your mod gives lot of flavor.
usmc_BF 10. okt. 2017 kl. 8:03
The whole idea of Slavic Union is a joke, I did check out the mod, almost no Czech or Slovak names were present... Like I said, as usual. Maybe try making something like "East Slavic Union" or "South Slavic Union" because thats easy to make, since you guys who are interested in Pan-Slavic ideas are mostly from these countries.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 10. okt. 2017 kl. 6:56
Kepos - It's done.

usmc_BF - Why don't you try the mod and then comment on then names, instead of assuming that they're wrong? I'd like to hear feedback from somebody who knows West Slavic names well, as II'm not from that area myself.
Kepos 8. okt. 2017 kl. 8:40
Could we get update for Capek 1.8?
usmc_BF 27. sep. 2017 kl. 12:54
Why even include the Czech or Slovak names? You will probably get them wrong... Majority will probably be East Slavic, as usual...
Elven Sailor 11. sep. 2017 kl. 6:43
Cruisers
Name them as cities (but not capitals), add some historical admirals and lesser gods. Also adopt some historical cruiser names like Varyag, Gromoboy.

Battleships
Use the capitals of Slavic countries, the most powerful gods, and MAYBE the highest caliber historical figures (Russian emperors, Czech, Polish and Serbian kings, heroes like Alexander Nevskiy, Miloš Obilić ).

Note: Use historical hero names with great caution.
For example: brilliant Russian general and national hero Alexander Suvorov... ruthlessly crushed Polish rebellion in 1794. Can we just name ship after him in this mod? :)
Elven Sailor 11. sep. 2017 kl. 6:43
Ship naming is more creative and sensitive part. Right usage of history can increase the immersion, wrong one will cause major butthurt.

Corvettes
Such small ships often don't have a name, only number. (And they die a lot, LOL )
For example, use abbreviations MO-NNN and BO-NNN ( Small Hunter / Large Hunter, classes of WW2 ships)

Destroyers
In Russian fleet, destroyers mostly have adjective names - Bystryi (Fast), Gromkiy (Loud), Besposhadnyi (Merciless), etc. Sometimes they named as heroes of war/revolution.

Polish destroyers often named after natural phenomenons - Grom (Thunder), Błyskawica (Lightning), Burza (Storm)...
Elven Sailor 11. sep. 2017 kl. 6:41
Here is some ideas for the ship and planet's naming.

Planet names are easy. Just look the map of Riussia/ Eastern Europe.

Use names of big cities (Moskva, Minsk, Krakov, Praga, Bratislava, Saraevo, ...), great rivers (Volga, Dnipro, Danube, Visla, Lena), and significant geographical regions (Krym, Ural, ...)

Use the logic. Cold planets can have names like Yamal, Taimyr and Chukotka, ocean planets - Baltica, Ladoga, Adriatica.
And so on. Follow this vector. :)

Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 11. sep. 2017 kl. 4:45
Elven Sailor, I tried what you proposed, but I can't see any difference in the frequency of blank names. But thanks for the suggestion, anyway!

If you have any more ideas, feel free to share them.
Elven Sailor 11. sep. 2017 kl. 2:14
nice workaround for gendered surnames!
Maybe the "blank-named character" bug could be avoided. Try to leave opposing gender section empty instead of deleting it.
Sonichu  [ophavsmand] 7. juli 2017 kl. 8:45
I've updated the mod to the current version, but I haven't added anything new. Note that this mod should work properly even if it says that it's outdated, like all namelist mods.

I'm going to work on the mod a little more now that I'm playing Stellaris again. Do you have any requests for the mod?
bratrstvoNODKane 22. juni 2017 kl. 12:37
Update it please!
bonovil 17. maj 2017 kl. 10:48
