Hey RedConcsript, that was one of my first mods. All that there is to it really is that you import the turret and hull of the tank separately. Make sure that the hull is at the coordinate origin of the 3D editor while you export. For the turret, the center of the turret ring should be at the coordinate origin, otherwise the turret will turn weirdly. And then once you have it in game you can attach the turret to the hull via hinge joint. Though I personally advise against that due to some problems it can create. (2/2) On a more direct player level: as global awareness of the cosmic horrors increases (raising it is one of the core player objectives in this modded campaign), aid becomes more readily available. For characters with the right passports/diplomatic credentials, this can also mean receiving "special weapons" from the relevant factions. Each character may only hold one special weapon at a time (incentivising character rotation in this very lengthy campaign). Special weapons become available in stages: M3 Grants and T-26s are in stage 1 for example, M60s & T-54s in stage 5. These special weapons are typically devastating & OP by vanilla game standards, especially because you add their value to regular weapons, instead of having to choose. This balances the increased difficulty level of the mod compared to vanilla EH.

More than happy to share screenshots, esp. once the game actually gets going, but I can already show you a few from my WIP. How familiar are you with Eldritch Horror? Given the character count limit here, it's not the best place for lengthy explainers! But the fundamental idea is that there's a strategic layer of wargaming (which we simulate) that happens independently of the players, though they can impact it, and are impacted by it in return. They're trying to stop the cultists from awakening eldritch horrors, but when/if war breaks out, it distracts humanity from this purpose - while also however increasing the availability of stuff that goes boom. Vice versa if players prevent the war, there will be more aid at hand, but weapons/tanks/planes will be developed later and be much slower and more difficult for them to procure (1/2, continuing in the next comment).

BTW, forgot to address your first question, sorry. I checked, and it's a little weird: I get a bunch of warnings about custom models not loading, but every vehicle that's supposed to be there seems to load without issues, so I'm not sure what that's about. I do suspect these are some of the IRL photographs (Tiger II P and Jagdtiger for example) but I'm not exactly sure what else could be in there. I'm going to bed now, but I'll give it another look tomorrow if it helps.

Yes, we'd use them. What we're doing (mad as it sounds) is combine a highly modded Eldritch Horror campaign (greater RPG/narrative focus) w/a wargaming scenario. The Lovecraftian events of EH are placed in the 30s, with the war providing both obstacles and opportunities to the players. Your mods have contributed so much to this.

And yes you're right, it's a turreted Jagdtiger with Vampir system attached (finding manual props to attach to models already in-game has proven surprisingly difficult for me!). And I think at least part of the E-75 turret is from that E-79 yes. I'll never understand why that game did that. Do you remember the jet-engined Jpz with the French name? Lmao.

In any case, up to you man, you've already done god's work with this mod. We just wouldn't have, say, Dicker Max, or SU-122, without you. If you do decide to go ahead with these two speculative models, let me know if there's anywhere I can send you a donation at least: work like this shouldn't go unrewarded.

Well, if you will actually use them, I might be able to be persuaded to do something like in those photos. I mean, the "Jagdtiger II" is really just a normal Jagdtiger with the casemate sliced off and turned into a turret. That E-75-variant's turret is likely inspired by the E-79 vehicle from the game "Panzer Front". Working off of that should be a decent headstart.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting you make it yourself! More bringing them up to your attention after I saw your own E-50, E-75 etc in the tank museum. I'm not going to model them myself either, though I *am* going to look for something similar... if I find any good looking free models I'll incorporate them for myself, and also flag them for you just in case you want to include them in the mod too.

Only reason we're looking into it is that we'd like to do a "WW2 1946" scenario, and there is a huge availability of Soviet and American tanks that, up to arguably the Korean War, are basically built with WW2 doctrine and philosophy of design in mind... but for obvious reasons, nothing like that for the Axis. :D

In terms of the models, those look cool, but are as you say highly fictional, and even though I could probably get something similar in the game (I think I know where the references for that E-75 come from), I would have to model it to a large degree myself, which I don't have any interest for in the moment, mainly because it would not find much use and just sit around in a corner and collect (virtual) dust.

This is a fantastic mod! Thanks, going to be super useful for an upcoming wargaming campaign with friends. I'm also on the lookout for models to integrate the collection - I'll consult your guide as soon as I find models that are convincing to me. Basically, I saw a modelist produce an absolutely wonderful and original take on a speculative and alternative blueprint/design for the E-75 and the Jagdtiger II, and now I kinda desperately want them in game... but being unable to make the models from scratch, I kinda have to settle and look for the next best thing. :D

Well, I mentioned in the guide which version I was/am using. It is not the latest one, that is true, but you can still download and use 2.79 if you want to follow along the operation closely. Otherwise, you can search for directions on how to do the things I do in the latest version (2.8 and later). The basic procedure remains the same eihter way.

If it says failed to import, it usually means the detail (i.e. triangle count) is too high.

The github path should only be used if you do not want to go with the steam cloud, which is the recommended way.

So I am attempting to use your guides on uploading .obj (every time I try TTS just says 'this can't be uploaded' and won't explain why), but I am running into a few difficulties - namely it's a different version of Blender, and my attempts to do a GitHub version of the model is failing because GutHub doesn't resemble how you described it in your guide.

Oh haha, Girls and Panzer... Wouldn't you need a fire-red StuG for that then? With flags?

@Baryonyx Wow, there she is! Thank you so much, that’s so amazing. I am currently in the process of combining several existing mods into one quixotic fan project to have every tank from Girls und Panzer under one roof based on an existing mod of character standees. The StuG III Ausf.F isa. Major character - and your tank models have been a huge help. (In a perfectly world I’d create the simple cell-shaded textures of the show, but I haven’t that kind of skills.) This is so wonderful, thank you!

Amazing. And here's a suggestion for a tank you should add if you ever update this, judging by the other comments. You should add the Landkreuzer P. 1000 "Ratte" into the game. To note, it is probably more than 50 times the size of the Maus already in this museum. Anyways, just a suggestion.

Furt, yes I am aware of that. They were made back when I didn't know enough about 3D models and UV maps. Though I don't think it looks too bad, so I doubt I will fix it any time soon.

Many of the tracks on the tanks (namely the Tigers and Stug IIIs, but there are others) do not display correctly unfortunately. They show the texture map of the entire tank instead of a track texture.

Sounds like there is a dead link for one of the images on the foto stands next to the models. The window will just pop up again and again until you either provide a working link or close it. So you most likely tried to import the same dead link 2000 times...

Tell me which one, then I can fix it.

Baryonyx, that would be awesome!!! There are a number of Flames of War mods in the workshop, but they're all for WW2. I'd like to play FOW - Team Yankee, so any models (Soviet, German, US etc.) that you can find would be amazing. Thanks again for not only posting incredible mods, but also for maintaining them so well. I have found many (many) mods with broken links.

You can make the joint work as a hinge if you create a joint and then go to the joint properties, select the hinge tab and enter a value in the... Y axis I think.
Considering the tanks without texture, they are just placeholders. I just made the most important ones so far but if you need a certain vehicle fully fleshed out I can add that.

However, some of the textures aren't loading in completely. What I mean by that is, the models load in, but completely untextured. Not sure if this is a problem on my end or not, but I'll still list the vehicles where this is an issue, just in case:

Problem is, I need the turrets to move.
As for the missing objects, it somehow seems to be resolved. I just loaded in and had no errors. Usually I get asked to import something and then the program says that the source is "unable to be resolved".

You can fix the turret in place with the joint tool.
Not rendering correctly? Do you mean things are not loading? Can you specify what exactly is affected?
