I can confirm: The mod works!
The Integrated Spotlight isn't without its quirks, however.
The light itself doesn't seem positioned entirely right; the edges of it are plain light, rather than being covered by the bars as in the middle, and shown on the model.
The inside of the light (The bulb area) doesn't glow like in the (Current) vanilla spotlight, either, which looks strange, especially now that the old flare is removed.

Otherwise, it seems like it's functional!

Does this mod work, yet? The times I've tried it, it's just a carbon copy of the current spotlight; it doesn't have the old model.

Keen still haven't changed the icon in the G menu to the new spotlight.

Was there any word on what happened to that model, and why this just has the same model as the current spotlight?

I'm not sure this does anything right now, aside from add a duplicate block that looks the same.
Also, I'm pretty sure the lines are due to the actual model of the spotlights, since it has grills on the light.
Maybe at some point they shifted the light back so it now casts those, or perhaps they changed the near clipping distance.
Still, there are ways around it. Try using two spotlights, with one turned on its side, or a spotlight right above the other one.
The grills would have a theoretical purpose: To keep the bulb from being shattered in collisions.

Does this still illuminate like the old spotlight, without the horrible parallel shadow lines?

Is there any word on whatever's causing the issue?
Do you provide the model files yourself, or are you reading them from the game? Maybe they removed them, or something.
Then again, I'd expect a missing model instead of the default one... Does pointing to a different model work at all for spotlights?

Yes, i know about the issue and will try to fix it as soon as possible. Unforrunately my Internet connection is cut since mid august due to local roadworks :/ Will probably move to another place 1st of Janurary. I'll try to get IT fixed from someone elses System if i get the Chance and am able to find the issue quickly.

Is there any word on an attempt to get this working again? It's a shame to have a perfectly usable model go to waste, especially when it would fit so well in places.

It's a real shame, because there are places this would work very well, plus it's a shame to let a perfectly good model go to waste.

I'll have to check but usually it shouldn't. It's not replacing the original Spotlight but instead adds the "old" Spotlight as a new Block.

I'm currently not really playing SE since im waiting for the huge Survival rework probably going live this Thursday! That's why my Mods might be out of Date at the moment but I'll see what i can do about this

Is it just me or does this now display the normal, rounded model?
There are places this would fit perfectly, and I had already begun working it into some of my designs. It'd really suck to have to remake them and lose this variant.

Well I just took the Models as they were in Beta and uploaded it as a seperated Block. Seems like the Beta Model never had a proper LOD yet. I mean I can check if there's any issue on my side but if not I really can't do anything about it since I'm not that into 3D modelling sadly.

The Screenshot was taken from the T.N.F. Privateer Vessel 'Nightfall' Mk.1 (by Malmhrid) and is just a prime example for some of the unique niches this Block fits into.

I can check if there's any older source where i can steal the old Model and Texture from x)
I really loved the old oxygen tank model too! Still prefer the new one but never thought about using one of the old models and textures for any kind of tank mods.

Small Hydrogen Tanks maybe...

I never did like the original beta model, until I saw your picture of it next to an air vent and surrounded by half-height blocks. Thanks for the ideas. :steamhappy:

Do you think you can extract the original beta oxygen generator? It would be a shame to let a perfectly good model go to waste when it could be used in other mods.

If you're speaking of the new Model I guess they just didn't change the LOD Model yet then. The Block Icon is also still the old one so i guess they'll update it within the next weeks or so.

the lod is a bit messed up as when you move away from the spotlight it changes to the old model
dont know if its hardwired into the game code but would be nice to see it from a distance :)

Yes I know. I really liked the design too! I generally prefer the new model but the old one was perfect for filling up half block gaps or integrating into ceilings/walls etc. in general.

Honestly, this spotlight did look better for some of my creations than the current, or even pre-beta, one!
