Hi ! thank you for comment, im glad you like these mods :)
About G&K, this collection was designed when it was already out. And if i wanted to make it Vanilla compatible, given all the differences, i would have to make 2 separate Mod. Double testing and coding time, and double support after that. With 40 mods to support i had to make hard choices.
When BNW came out i tried hard to make all the existing mod compatible with it, but without requiring it. It was a success for most of the Mods, but it was a lot of work. At that times, if i already had separate Mod for vanilla, i think it would have been to much work, knowing that not many player played Vanilla only. (Including me :) )
I was wondering, though, why GK is required?
Out of nostalgia I recently switched back to the basic game (so no GK and BNW) and was surprised to find that, while it is possible to activate the mod and start a game with it, it is simply not functional under these conditions (as stated by you in the description, I then remembered). Was this a design decision on your side, something that saved work (since most people just won't play without GK at least, I guess), or something else?
i think its doable, some users said to me that they succeeded in altering files and making mods works in multiplayer. I unfortunately don't know how sorry !
Good luck in your attempt !
Hi Bluewine!
Thank You for your comment, i am glad that you like these mods :)
Unfortunatly big mods like "Community patch" that touch everything has very low compatibility with others mods and leaves very little space for users choices (and also other modders).
There is a concept in programming that is very important for that matter, its called "Single responsibility".
Thats why i separated all of my ideas in many little mods that are compatible together. So the user can mix n Match at his preference and its leaves maximum space for others mods in term of compatibility.
With big mods you are often forced to make heartbreaking choice, im sorry to hear that this is the case here. Hope you still enjoy theses in the future!
Have a good day!
Hi Larry!
As stated in the mod descriptions, these mods are made to make a full game in a particuliar era viable. You enable one at a time for a full game.
Its not made to change mod mid game.
Glad you like those :)
thx for your positive comment!
That is exactly what these mods do.
Enables one at a time (the one which represent the era at wich you want to stop) and you wont go fyurther that era, and many game mechanics will be adjusted to fit a game based on this era.
Thank you.
XD
Which mods do you want to use together?
As the thing relates to modfiles, it works only as you describe, when Classical Era mod contains Ancient Era codes/modfiles as well.
In other words, the Ancient+Classical era mod combination i asked for is needed, otherwise you play vanilla Ancient era, as the Classical Era modfiles fire first when according code conditions are met.
I'll check the Classic Era modfiles soon then i'll know what's going on in his era mods (when i'm ready with my SDK scenario map/modding slight realism Ancient Greek modsetup ... what takes a lot of time, damn).
However thanks for your reply, wish you well. And ... je parle un petit peut francais, non passablement pour une conversation de mod technique (how much mistakes has alone this sentence? lol).
Okay, I'm going to try my best english only for you: you should only enable the era mod you want to end your game in and choose your starting era in the game set-up.
If you want to play from Classic era to Atomic era for instance, enable the "Atomic era" mod, and select Classic in your game set-up as the starting era.
As far as i can see, there is no such mod.
So if i understand you correct, i can when Ancient Era is finished load this last save and begin with this the Classical Era? Is this right? If so, then yes, no need for Era combinations.
No need: unable the Classic era mod and begin the game in ancient era.
Like you could play from medieval to atomic by only enabling the atomic era mod, and start your game in the medieval era in the game set up.
And suggestion: Add to your Era collection an Ancient + Classic Era mod, so one can start early and end with Classic's end - that would be really great, especially for the above mentioned mod setup.
No problem! =) glad you enjoy
Enable only one Era mod at the time, depending on the era you want to play in.
If you start with rifleman, its not because of the mod, its because you have chosen a later starting Era in your games options, change it back to ancient or any era before the one you want to play.
Merci very much for everything you've thought and created for the game and the players.
Im struggling with the though ! but it took so much work to make the 40 mods, support them and keep them updated over the 2 expansion, im not sure i have enough willpower to start all over again :)
And, like you, im still not addicted to civ6 like i was for civ 5, and i dont even know why!
in short, ive yet to decide..
Thx for your support by the way :) appreciated
BNW contain G&K actually, i wont make another version since this one works perfectly whatever you have only G&K, only BNW, or both
why would i need another version?
Its compatible whatever you have G&K or BNW. it requires at least G&K but if you only have BNW it compatible.
Glad you like these :)
Mods menu >> enable only one of those Bloublou's eras mods.
And when you're at the game setup window, select the same era you enabled or an earlier one.
Make sure you don't have any other Era mods conflicting...
