Definitively ELCP is worth a try. Keep in mind this game is much more stable, consistent and moddable than ES2, despite being much older. This is a mostly full AI mod as a normal mod, you don't need to replace a DLL, but there are bugs and ELCP squashes them and much more (some mechanics and balance chances, but keeping the core experience the same). ELCP in vanilla endless diff is ridiculous, mind you (the handicaps on this game are busted).
Zaikozila 16 Apr @ 5:32am
Ohhhhh thank you very much, I did look into ELCP and it looks very promising - especially as it has your mod built into it apparently

Im not sure if its recommended for new players, but after so many hours in ES2 with bad AI before putting on your ENFER, This time I want to jump into EL with proper AI difficulty

- It allows achievements too, nice !
Also thanks for the modding work you do in these great games ♥
ninakoru  [author] 16 Apr @ 1:35am
I believe using normal mods disable achievements. Check out ELCP mod, it has DLL fixes like ENFER and is much more complete than this and ENFER. An impressive work.

Hello again, Ninakoru!

I love your Endless Space 2 E.N.F.E.R. Reloaded AI + Community Fixes mods, so seeing you have made an AI mod for this game too is great !

I just started Endless Legend 1 and wanna ask - are steam achievements disabled if I run your AI mod in this game?

Since your mods I run in Endless Space 2 are ones that I manually replace the files myself, but in this one it seems I have to just subscribe from workshop and its done.

Wonderful mod for miracle game.
Aveonyx 3 Feb @ 4:40am
I see, got it. Thanks for the quick reply.
ninakoru  [author] 3 Feb @ 3:36am
Not directly, but indirectly, due to AI handling their resources better.
Aveonyx 3 Feb @ 3:01am
Hello. This may sounds stupid but I'm a newbie so i'm still working around on easy~normal diff. Does this mod make the enemies harder to defeat?
thanks.
ninakoru  [author] 30 Jan @ 1:22pm
No, not needed with ELCP but are compatible, this mod handles things a bit different in some areas, ELCP has so much more going on, and core fixes, strongly recommended. The thing, many people is lazy/doesn't want to risk their game with ELCP, so they can still enjoy a better AI with this mod. Also, if you want to try a different approach on some AI related things, this mod is optional with ELCP.
Doxun 30 Jan @ 10:45am
I'm confused. The ELCP page links to this mod as part of the base ELCP was made from. Are you supposed to use this if you already have ELCP applied?
Iron-Claw 12 Jul, 2024 @ 8:55pm
Both Solium Infernum and Nexus 5X are single+multiplayer strategy games with AIs that are more competent than that of EL, and both games are well worth a look. Whether they are „like EL“ enough for you is up to you to decide. :-)
megabot 9 Jul, 2024 @ 2:28pm
damn, that sucks. thank you for your answer. any sugestions on games like EL with good AI?
ninakoru  [author] 7 Jul, 2024 @ 12:49am
ELCP does some tweaks to diplomacy, Improved AI also does some minor things, but the fundamentals on how it works are the same. Sadly is not something that can be changed easily without a complete overhaul, at a deep level as ELCP works (edition of core files...).
megabot 4 Jul, 2024 @ 11:22am
damn, that sucks. do you have any suggestions on what to do?
ninakoru  [author] 26 Jun, 2024 @ 11:36am
Nah, that's core to the game diplomacy inner works, I tried to do several things to alleviate the extreme aggressiveness but doesn't help much.
Question 26 Jun, 2024 @ 10:35am
I'm not sure if ELCP AI is good. I noticed some very weird things that the AI does on normal. With ELCP, the AI is very bad at improving cities and tends to spam a lot of poorly equipped units even if they have half the map and tons of resources. They also tend to suicidaly declare war on me often and break alliances even though we are about to win a shared victory.

So I tried this mod on hard and the AI is being extremely aggressive, constantly pillaging my improvements and spamming spy ops even though i have never done anything aggressive to attract their attention.

I signed a peace treaty with roving clans, but they are still being very aggressive and their trust of me is extremely low for some reason. Again, never done anything aggressive.

What am i missing here?
LuckyBrock07 7 May, 2024 @ 10:45pm
This modification remains functional without incident in 2024. I give it a score of
"most acceptable" which is my highest rating. :)
ninakoru  [author] 6 Feb, 2024 @ 12:29am
Yeah, I took the extra mile to make this mod 100% compatible with ELCP, added some new variables and stuff made for ELCP.
Aten 5 Feb, 2024 @ 10:51pm
@Destrock - I use both, no issues so far at all (: Should be fine and just read the previous comments
Aten 22 Jan, 2024 @ 3:46pm
Thankyou, well I like your mods so i'll combine them (: awesome wok, especially with the influx of new players at the moment.
ninakoru  [author] 22 Jan, 2024 @ 3:45pm
Nope, this mod and ELCP parted ways long ago, many of the good stuff I discovered with new versions was reported and included on ELCP. If you have ELCP this is not needed at all, while it works together and it certainly changes how the AI do many stuff, there's not a clear advantage in using it. ELCP current Improved AI version is just as good.
Aten 22 Jan, 2024 @ 2:39pm
Are the latest changes to this mod going to be in ELCP? Or just stick with ELCP alone?
CupCupBaconBox 14 Dec, 2023 @ 5:15pm
Great mod. Thanks.
ninakoru  [author] 11 Dec, 2023 @ 3:32pm
Nope, ELCP is an extended version of Improved AI at its core (does 10x more things though). This changes have another flavor in some details, but for a competent AI is not needed at all.
Corrupted Slime 11 Dec, 2023 @ 3:03pm
Is this now recommended to install along with ELCP ?
ninakoru  [author] 25 Sep, 2023 @ 7:53am
@mythmage: Shouldn't be the case, maybe someone is using the community patch and other are in vanilla? (is not a mod per se)
mythmage 24 Sep, 2023 @ 9:36am
Can't seem to use this in a multiplayer game at all. It's the only mod in use.

Nemo, Forevermore 16 Jul, 2022 @ 10:45am
Save files are categories by mod loadout. You can't load a modded save file without validating the required mod package nor can you load a unmodded save file after validating a mod package.
ninakoru  [author] 13 Jul, 2022 @ 4:49am
Not sure if you load a save without the mod, I think that's not possible by any normal mean, as the mods are attached to the save information.
The Mad Demoknight 11 Jul, 2022 @ 1:44pm
Does this work on a current save? I already started a campaign before finding this mod and wonder if I can still run it on a current save file.
Tobi1Kenobi 8 Jun, 2021 @ 2:25pm
Seems broken in MP in 2021, causing a lot of "failed to connect" bugs and desyncs.
Nemo, Forevermore 29 Sep, 2020 @ 1:02pm
All mods disable Steam Achievements, with the exception of the ELCP
ZOVA 29 Sep, 2020 @ 12:23am
you've probably answered this question hundreds of times, but does this mod (or any mod really) disable steam achievements?
ninakoru  [author] 11 Sep, 2020 @ 12:26pm
If you have ELCP you don't NEED this mod. However has a different approach for AI, while ELCP has most of the mod features, on a AI performance side, they are similar.
clop1000 16 Aug, 2020 @ 10:28am
Do I need to install this mod if I already have ELCP installed? Is it already included?
Or if this mod is installed with ELCP, it will have more features, and even better AI?

Does it change AI production bonuses? (is it compatible with mods that change it?)
ninakoru  [author] 13 Jul, 2020 @ 12:34pm
Yes is a standalone mod.
Sarimal 13 Jul, 2020 @ 4:07am
does this work with zero dlcs?
"Hard Tack" Tom 12 Jul, 2020 @ 1:54am
What program did you use to make your mod? i cant find any creation tools on steam
ninakoru  [author] 6 Jul, 2020 @ 2:54am
Yes it does.
clop1000 3 Jul, 2020 @ 12:20pm
Does it work with - ELCP?
ninakoru  [author] 28 Apr, 2020 @ 10:01am
Yeah, long story short, was part of the core and I revamped it, but I also contacted and provided some good bits to also improve ELCP. If you have ELCP you could use this mod as it handles many things quite different, but not particulary better. If you don't use it you wil not appreciate any loss in AI competency.
Mazer 25 Apr, 2020 @ 5:39am
@Hotklou: just a passer-by and not an expert, but if I'm reading
this [www.games2gether.com] right this mod is incorporated in ELCP.

Un Pingachu Warhammero 23 Apr, 2020 @ 1:38pm
yeah but all at the same time? without actually being allies?
ninakoru  [author] 23 Apr, 2020 @ 9:30am
Nope, if something, I softened the angriness of AI against the players. AI is very prone to declare war if they feel they have the upper hand anyways,
Un Pingachu Warhammero 2 Apr, 2020 @ 5:43pm
The moment I declared war on 1 AI faction most of the other factions declared war on me, is this a bug? Please tell me they aren't programmed to systematically convince each other to all declare war on me because if that's the case i'm not using your mod ever again.

Here's a bunch more details for context:

- We are using ELCP instead of the standalone version of Improved AI.
- Difficulty: Hard
- Turn: 83/150
- The factions that declared war on me shared peace at most. In fact 2 of them were at war with each other.
- Something similar happened to one of my friends earlier in the same game.
Hotklou 21 Mar, 2020 @ 3:06am
This compatible with the current version of ELCP (2.5.4)?
Raging ♥♥♥♥ 14 Mar, 2020 @ 2:24am
I read the walls of text here, here is better question - is difficulty kinda capped at serious AI wise? I read that after that AI doesnt try harder, it just gets better bonuses.
Raging ♥♥♥♥ 14 Mar, 2020 @ 2:17am
What difficulty should I play? Is AI doing a harder job on serious difficulty with this mod, or it just get stat bonuses?
Ekzarcun 10 Feb, 2020 @ 9:25am
i think its the combination of it and the mod for scaling difficulty + the tales of auriga expansion or diplomatic emperor
