I'm so glad to hear this mod is being develpoed again. It's the first mod I ever used on HOI4, and one of my favorites. And while there is another CSA mod outer there for the current version of the game, it's not nearly as fleshed out as this, and it just uses Canada's focus tree for the CSA!! I can't wait to play!!

@humansnephew Subscribe to the mod, and set your game version to 1.5. Yes this means you lose out on other mods of the latest version unfortunetly.

@toonlink This is more to distinguish what kind of state the Confederacy is in at the time. It's a democratic republic with neutral leanings. Hence why it would be called a republic. It's not historically accurate, but gives the player a clue what country they're playing.

@theonewhoonewhenone Yes, actually! And that's the fun thing about politics in America - they're regional and they cross pollinate. Gerald Smith was active, I believe, in southern states as well as the north, espousing supremacist views. He actually moved to Louisiana and became part of Long's machine. While the mod at this time doesn't touch on the Union, it feels appropriate that one of America's worst far-right activists at the time get an outlet to uh... to darken the states.

Quick question; why is the CSA called the Confederate Republic and not the Confederate States of America or just the Confederate States?

As for naval stuff - why not keep/expand the lore in there on the hull types? As far as I've seen, the localization there is not too different.

As of the last build - the Gold Legion was a portmanteau of the Golden Circle idea and the various Legions that cropped up in America generally in the 1930s. Some were apolitical post-war groups for veterans, others were like the Silver Legion and aped the Nazis. Thus, the Golden Legion would've been an expansionist, racist organization that would've wanted to establish an agribusiness empire across the Caribbean. Gerald K. Smith would've probably headed it.

As of the new build - I'm thinking of revising it to be a reaction to the red scare in a post-Slavery CSA. An existential fear of societal upheaval with a deeply conservative, futurist-courting ideology. It may or may not be linked to fascist societies up in the Union.

To be honest, I'm disappointed that the latest DLC reworked the Naval Tree. I really loved learning about the world building put into the various different ships. Imagining the CSA building their own version of the Yamato - that is to say, the Dixie-Class - was so amazing that I was resolved to construct one each time I played the mod. Will miss seeing those, but I suppose that I can live with it given the new ideas floated about in the comments.

As a question, is there any material about the Golden Legion? Is it like the Silver Legion of America, but made up for the CSA, or is there something more to it? Regardless, anxiously await any and all updates, even if just lore. I live for the stuff.

This mod has been use to that since Death or Dishonor. Remember a year ago that we had to update the mod to 1.5.4 when we didn't have too just to avoid the comment spam.
