hmmm thats really really sad. but thank you for that informating and enlightening answer. its really sad, i also hope now for a new Rome Total War besides my Medieval 3 Total War i wished. but till then... i play Pharaoh further. its not that bad like people said. and it makes you being interested in the big mighty old ancient egypt.

Edelweiss, a lot of things are hardcoded in the game, we can't make fire behave the same way as in Pharaoh, a lot of structures in the battlemaps of Rome II are indestructible

why there is NOT a single mod that makes buildings catch fire if you SPAM them with onagers. like the MAIN tactic of roman artillery oof. this game lacks the most playable reason. total war pharaoh did this all right, just dont got artillery cause bronze age. not a single modder thought about spreading fire. just some modders that removed it later for fucking DEI and one who dont uploaded his mod. its annoying ;(

Hey just a quick question - was anything altered that changes how the AI behaves during sieges? I'm not sure if it's the mod or something I changed with anything on my end basically - but I used to attack settlements and the AI would at least try fight back / engage my army. Now all the AI units just stand in their settlement, I'm assuming waiting for me to charge them, but all that happens is they just eat arrows until most of them are dead, and then just run away whenever my melee infantry approaches them at the end.

Pardon, does this help with CTD? Cause every time the ladder reaches my wall the game crashes immediately

@Historical Gameplay, in Demetrios Poliorketes the relevant changes (the Hellenic related ones) are included, in Last Stand of Greece however they are not

@SHOCKER, I think there are some mods around that give siege towers by default to the AI, though I am not sure

@Gyrosmeister yes I know it doesn't affect the building habits of the AI, but the AI almost always assaults with one ladder which is easy to break. Then all you have to do is wait because the AI has no other option but to try and set the brazen gates on fire because this mod makes them impossible to breach.

One problem I have with this mod is that the AI doesn't build siege equipment and assaults the cities with just one ladder. When you have bastion artillery in the city, its pretty easy to destroy that ladder and the AI will just waste itself away trying to burn down the gate

Gvrosmeister, I tryed sieges and siege warfare seemed to me not so interesting without fast burning. I didn't find the table with siege warfare endurance to edit, but I have remembered your mod for years and at least found a mod with good parameters for siegebattle bettersieges.pack in my archives. But would you mind to explain which table you edited for this mod? Thanks a lot.

@Gyromeister he's probs one of the few people who still download cracked games. Cracked games dont work with workshop files cause tehy don't register as steam games

Great mod for anyone looking to make cinematic siege video's from their replays.
Could maybe do with a few tweaks, for example, Gates should be easier to set on fire, but take longer to actually burn down, once they reach 100% fire damage.
I only say this because with the length of time it currently takes to set ablaze, they seem to almost instantly bust open, by compariosn, once they reach full fire damage :/

Other than that, great work, keep it up buddy :)

Justinsane11, get it to where they only have cavalry left, the cavalry will go to the gates for a last ditch attempt and try to knock them down

set the gates on fire? i have over 400 hours in this game and whlie the cpu aren't the best sieger's ever, they always use their siege equipment, i never see them knocking the gates down anywhere even when they have 40 unit stacks, they just sit behind 4 ladders when they should surround and knock the gates down

You always start with some ladders from the beginning.The AI tends to rush them into the walls. I ve only played one siege with this mod and the AI didn't even try to burn the gatehouse

yeah but what about the dumb AI trying to set the gates on fire, if they dont do and they also dont have any seige iquipment with they just stand there staring at us? reason I am asking is because I have no limited time in battles

I played a siege Macedon(Me) Rome(AI attacker) they brought the ladders to the walls and positioned as many soldiers as possible. They didn't try to burn the gate
