Really fun. Well done!

Nice puzzle and outstanding visuals. However, I feel as though the portable button concept wasn't used to its potential here. It really just serves as an alternative for a cube. I think for a tutorial it demonstrates its uses well though, and I trust that the other puzzles will use it more effectively. Thumbs up!

nintendo.erk  [ophavsmand] 2. juni 2017 kl. 11:47
If you look at the button base it has a sign on it showing a button placed on a button ;)
The mod has a proper tutorial with voicelines and such.
hScareisu 🎃 2. juni 2017 kl. 11:45
Nice test, but it took me a bit to realize that you could place the button on the button.
wildgoosespeeder 10. maj 2017 kl. 20:25
Very good map.
Sciguy429 9. feb. 2017 kl. 13:29
Makes sense, when I got the button I walked it stright into the fizzler thinking it would be ok XD
nintendo.erk  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2017 kl. 21:50
Yes it does, we found there are more puzzle possibilities when fizzlers kill the button.
Sciguy429 8. feb. 2017 kl. 17:45
Huh so will the button actualy fizzel in the game? I remeber in the first portable button demo it didnt...
Sejievan 3. feb. 2017 kl. 12:43
Button is a bit wonky to grab sometimes.. otherwise is a cool idea i liked.

It's a shame I can't get rid of the urge to compare this map to Tmast98's "The winter testing initiative" , because this is a great puzzle with a great concept and nice visuals, but it's nowhere near as good.
...with the exception of the christmas tree - it's times better, I love your model.

Try lowering the graphics settings...

This was made using hammer world editor in Portal 2 Authoring Tools beta, you can find it in the steam client on windows. Click the "Library" tab, then tools and scroll to "Portal 2 Authoring Tools beta"
Kalimer_Grog 28. dec. 2016 kl. 1:27
Really great.... where i can download all those textures? is it in some map editor? i dont have it in my chamber editor.
TG 27. dec. 2016 kl. 21:51
@dven1
Thanks for playing, there is no way to get to the hidden area, it is sealed
until the mod comes out.
dven1 27. dec. 2016 kl. 15:17
Oops, I played it again and realized I was wrong, I did use that floor button down below but forgot I had. Sorry.
dven1 27. dec. 2016 kl. 14:58
Nice map, well made and lit. Great visuals and atmosphere. Not sure what the floor button down below was for. Thanks for your work. BTW, is there a way to get to that "hidden" area under the exit platform without "NOCLIP"?
Shane 27. dec. 2016 kl. 7:36
very well made!
dmuk 26. dec. 2016 kl. 22:22
A themed chamber and a couple of interesting mechanix too; niice presents! Tnx
jandlml 26. dec. 2016 kl. 22:21

Malfaction 26. dec. 2016 kl. 11:10
Nice map! Thumbs up!
kwinten 25. dec. 2016 kl. 17:07
ok !
nintendo.erk  [ophavsmand] 25. dec. 2016 kl. 12:50
Thank you, yes I did all I could to optimise it proper but there is a lot of glass and goo in the map what makes optimising challenging when you use so many props. This map even has an occluder lol.
kwinten 25. dec. 2016 kl. 12:43
map very well made in destroyed style !
But i still have this big and annoying lag while playing; i hope you do your best to reduce that (yes, i have a not powerful PC :/)
quatrus 25. dec. 2016 kl. 9:38
Excellent atmosphere and snow. Never saw the portable button before - clever. nice puzzle thanks for creating again.
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 25. dec. 2016 kl. 9:29
It's pretty good. On one hand I love the attention to detail, on the other hand I find it really distracting, and when I was overcomplicating it, having so many nooks and crannies to look in is painful. I think this would be better if your options were limited more. Like for instance, jumping down the area that's only there to get back. I missed something royally obvious, but it didn't feel like my own fault, which made the simple solution a little frustrating... I missed the angle from the weighted button platform to the pedestal button. It doesn't seem like this should be as sneaky. It almost feels 'wrong', I would suggest making that platform little bit wider, if (still) possible. Also, with so many details, having stronger lighting contrasts on stuff that is actally important to the test is probably a really good idea, for the mod in general. I kind of got lost in all the details in here, as much as I liked them too. Nevertheless, thanks for building!
Rector 25. dec. 2016 kl. 7:18
Didn't took as long cause I already playtested it but great job for both the puzzle and the visuals!
Playthrough video

Another thumbs up! :p2cube:

Amazing attention to detail. Loved it! Here's my blind playthrough: https://youtu.be/45fVLjQde38

A terrific puzzle and stunning visuals. A must play! Thanks
rosesor12 24. dec. 2016 kl. 12:25
Love the portable button concept! I'm really looking forward to Destroyed Aperture. These demos have been excellent :)
nintendo.erk  [ophavsmand] 24. dec. 2016 kl. 11:25
Thank you very much, GLaD we were able to provide ;)
The Destroyed Aperture mod will have multiple puzzles with the button as well as an other new testing element that will stay a secret untill the mod releases.
SpasticatedSigma99 24. dec. 2016 kl. 11:22
I really needed to see a good test chamber. All of the workshop seams to be really boring and broken peti tests with captions like (EASY) (SUPER SUPER EASY) just to get people to play the maps. I really loved the button idea.
pocatato 24. dec. 2016 kl. 10:46
Yes :D
ferrybig 24. dec. 2016 kl. 9:33
Nice concept, would rate difficulty 7/10
RealPitchers 24. dec. 2016 kl. 9:29
up
LPChip 24. dec. 2016 kl. 9:29
This is an awesome test. Nice concept too. I was overthinking it a lot more than I had to, making it unnecessary hard for me. I estimate the difficulty to be 4/10 (valve difficulty) Maybe 5/10, Medium) but not more for sure.
