I want to get back to this mod and make sure its up to speed with the last version of the game. Unfortunately recently this has not been a priority, but it is something that id like to do.
Michael Bone 20 Jul, 2021 @ 1:08am
can someone inform me on the status of this mod? or direct me to one that allows me as a catholic to mend the orthodox?
Ahruman 11 Apr, 2020 @ 12:10pm
further work as discovered that further issue lies with the fact that two of the bishoprics ID'd for mending the syrian schism aren't bishoprics, c_mesopotamia doesn't exist, and the bishopric of b_martyropolis doesn't exist, c_martyropolis *does* exist, but its bishopric holds a different title, and in 867 there is no bishopric in c_karin. There is also no way for Paulicians to mend the schism with Orthodoxy *and* mend the schism with apostolics at the same time, since there is no real way to ensure that d_apostolic is not heretical to mend with orthodoxy and mend between paulician and apostolic. I suspect that one requires k_orthodox to not be heretical, since it seems that's required for the paulician/apostolic mend.

Bug report here, Playing as a Paulician, I was curious why there was an empty county control requirement for mending the Syrian schism, and hunting through the game files, I discovered it was because it looked for c_mesopotamia, but there is no county name matching that title, I suspect this is either looking for c_nineva or c_bagdad (if that's the right spelling for that county) to mend, but simply written wrong. I will be changing this personally to c_nineva because I would like to be able to take the decision, but I figured it was probably the right decision to inform you of the bug as well.

Caio Soares 5 Sep, 2019 @ 7:35pm
Good night is ironman compatible?
Tempted  [author] 7 Aug, 2019 @ 8:12am
Short answer: yes.

It would create problems as it is right now with other mods that I use.
I could rewrite parts of it to make it work, but at this moment I don't have access to the computer where the mod files are and I don't actively play CK2 atm.
When I get back to the game its very likely that I will revisit the mod =)

I have a question for @Tempted the author.
I've never made a working Ck2 mod in my life. I've been wanting a way to have the Catholic church mend all the schisms instead of the Orthodox church. I tried changing as little as possible in the mod files to achieve this. I copied a working event for Orthodoxy becoming a heresy of Nestorianism and changed all the nestorian focused events to catholic ones. This resulted in a creation of a 6th event instead of the initial 5.
TL;DR: The question is, would it be possible to update the mod to allow for mending the schisms in the church no matter which of the 4 branches of christianity you choose to use?
Commander Moff 26 Apr, 2019 @ 8:54pm
Greetings author, you can add the ability of Catholics to correct the schism against the orthodox.
Tempted  [author] 5 Apr, 2019 @ 6:59am
Should show up when your religion goes from secret to official.
CptPotatoAim 5 Apr, 2019 @ 5:38am
Playing as a Nestorian king of jerusalem who converted secretly via the holy site. Decision not showing up. Does it show up later?
yakamoz 7 Mar, 2019 @ 7:39pm
Thank you! Thank you!
Strawman Army 31 Dec, 2018 @ 12:46pm
This is great--thanks for making it.
TigerWave01 15 Dec, 2018 @ 8:31am
So I know that Catholics can mend the Eastern Schisms, but would it be possible to add the ability for Catholics to mend the Great Schism, as well. I love mending the schism, but the Orthodox way loses Crusades, and that's too much of a loss
xXTurdGobblerXx 14 Dec, 2018 @ 6:37pm
You should add bloodlines for mending the Schisms.
Tempted  [author] 16 Nov, 2018 @ 8:29am
Updated the mod for 3.0 Holy Fury.

Added a decision to mend the great schism over the catholic church as the other christian religions.
Chaincat 23 Aug, 2018 @ 7:33am
Ah. So I have to do a back and forth until all of the holy orders are under messalian, got it
Tempted  [author] 23 Aug, 2018 @ 5:18am
Holy orders change religion when a heresy overtakes the main religion in popularity. For example if messalianism becomes bigger that nestorianism
Chaincat 6 Aug, 2018 @ 3:29pm
How do you get the holy orders to swap religions? I'd like to get all the christian holy orders under messalianism
rillingshadowscale 6 Aug, 2018 @ 1:37pm
Will this work with Ck2+?
Tempted  [author] 13 Jun, 2018 @ 12:37pm
It should as its not overwriting anything. Try it out, get back to me if it doesn't =)
Caio Soares 13 Jun, 2018 @ 12:33pm
Work with the new patch 2.8.3?
TigerWave01 19 May, 2018 @ 10:53am
I dont know how easy/plausible this is to do but would it be possible, after you unify all of Christianity (the Eastern Schisms and the Great Schism), to create a new religion in the Christian religion group similar to the Chalcedonian religion in CK2+ called Christendom or something like that that everyone in the main branch converts to as well as some special event that gives the schism mender a big boost in piety and prestige
GLawrence 25 Jan, 2018 @ 9:02am
btw, I think you can't mend nestorian schism as a nestorian if you start at 769 startdate. Can someone confirm this?
GLawrence 20 Jan, 2018 @ 2:39pm
I know this would suppose more work for you, but could you make a version in which even the great schism is mendable by all the christian religions? I think this mod is a great idea, but not being able to mend the great schism as a nestorian for example is a bit of a turn off. That's why I'm asking for a "full" version, even if we have to sacrifice the compatibility with other mods.

Thanks for your work.
Tempted  [author] 15 Dec, 2017 @ 4:06am
Yup
zlatky 15 Dec, 2017 @ 3:54am
Hello there m8! is this mod updated to the latest game-version and latest DLC?
Tempted  [author] 3 Dec, 2017 @ 10:02am
That works as intended because I cant change the vanilla event without causing incompatability. You will have to change religion to orthodox to ment the schism utfortunately, and after that is done change back to messalian.
lastofthelight 3 Dec, 2017 @ 9:31am
Bug Report: Once you Mend the Eastern Schism as the Messalians, and then acquire the Byzantine Empire, its not possible to Mend the Great Schism. So you can't currently united Christendom under a messalian emperor/empress with lots of holy orders, as per your example. You have to be a non-heretical orthodox.
QuasiMOB 16 Nov, 2017 @ 8:11pm
awesome.
Tempted  [author] 8 Sep, 2017 @ 7:51pm
Updated the mod. Rewriting it for compatability and also adding reverse functionality.
So that other christian religions like orthodoxy and catholicism can mend the eastern schisms.
Tempted  [author] 3 Aug, 2017 @ 11:05am
I use it with HIP myself and I have not run into any compatability issues with other mods either. I created new script code and have not overwritten any existing code. Updated to latest patch yes.
zlatky 3 Aug, 2017 @ 7:34am
1) Is this HIP-compatible? 2) Does it conflict with other types of mods (and if so, with which ones)? 3) Is it updated for the last (2.7.1) patch?
DerigarsChairman 29 Mar, 2017 @ 8:59am
thx
Tempted  [author] 29 Mar, 2017 @ 8:43am
I just mended Miaphysite schism on my playthrough its working for me.

I'll look into reversing it for the orthodox faith.
DerigarsChairman 29 Mar, 2017 @ 7:53am
can we get a reverse means too? i love byzantine after all
Chillwind 26 Mar, 2017 @ 8:30pm
I presently on one playthrough control 4/5 of the pentarchy but with this mod active console switched my religion to Miaphysite and Nestorian and the only schism I could mend was the Nestorian one as a Nestorian. The option for it to appear as Miaphysite did not even show up.
Tempted  [author] 7 Mar, 2017 @ 12:20pm
Made sure its working for 2.7 Monks and Mystics
apache 16 Jan, 2017 @ 5:20pm
How to mend schism as a catholic using only this mod:
be nestorian byzantine emperor
mend schism
become orthodox and triumph over nestorians
convert to miaphysite
mend schism
become orthodox and triumph over miaphysites
now you must mend catholic schism
if you did that, great
convert to catholicism
triumph over orthodoxy
gg all christianity is now catholic or catholic heresy
now you can happily deal with 0 religious authority, and angsty, angry, anxious muslim mongols
Das Boot 29 Dec, 2016 @ 3:40pm
Ah ok then. If it's compatable then I can live with that.
Tempted  [author] 29 Dec, 2016 @ 12:10pm
Because i don't feel like copy pasting their work when its already there and compatible =)
Das Boot 29 Dec, 2016 @ 10:25am
Why not with this mod. Allowing every christian branch EXCEPT the Catholic One feels a bit like a slap in the face.
EmotionallyBroken 29 Dec, 2016 @ 8:40am
Its a mee mario!
Tempted  [author] 29 Dec, 2016 @ 7:21am
Not with this mod. For that use other mods that do that. For example HIP.
Im playing this with HIP atm.
Das Boot 28 Dec, 2016 @ 9:02pm
Will we be allowed to mend the schism as a Catholic?
Tempted  [author] 28 Dec, 2016 @ 11:58am
@pim You need Legacy of Rome since its based on the great schism event, which was added in LoR.
EmotionallyBroken 28 Dec, 2016 @ 11:40am
I think his name was nestor though wasnt it?
EmotionallyBroken 28 Dec, 2016 @ 11:39am
Cool!
