@the Spartan, others download map and put an external copy on fast dl server and dont use steams workshop system which is waay more convenient. I use both on my server but for new maps, I only use workshop

I run a lot of custom servers and when you run more than 1 per IP address the work shop doesn't work. I got mad at ins/steam a while back on that issue. I have 18 INS servers, 1 is DOI Mod and 13 custom servers... Workshop was just more problems that it was worth... I have tried to rename the file, but then the .nav does not work right and objects and scopes are screwed up.

@Sparkie951 I understand exactly what you're going through. Honestly, the best thing to do is host directly from workshop.. I currently host a hybrid of HTTP and Workshop. I used to do all HTTP but workshop is 10 times better because of the issue you mentioned.

All you need to do is add 815189600 in your servers subscribed file IDs, add cs_workout_v1 <gamemode> in your mapcycle file and you're done forever... Never need to download, bzip2, add new mapcycle name etc..

If you want to do a dirty fix on your side, rename the file... load it >> buildcubemaps and your done..

You will only lose the background image.. You can extract old one, rename it, and add a new one using VIDE tool.

When you make changes, can you alter the file name to V2 or V1.1, For those of us who do not use work shop, once we download the map to the server then users will not automatically get the map downloaded and thus will be kicked from the server due to server map differing from the user map. If the file name changes then the files will auto redownload. As it stands right now, I cannot run the map on my server until that happens. If I change the file names the the NAV and TXT file will not work, guns will be all goofed up and other stuff.

Do they still have it where you can only run 1 Workshop server per IP address... If so, that will not work for me. I have a dedicated box running quite a few servers?

@Sparkie, though I still host tons of maps, Id highly recommend hosting from workshop. Why? Well first, workshop compresses the map for you, anytime there is an update to the map, it seamlessly updates its on your next server restart. This means you dont have to do any work. If you update the map and keep same name, your players must delete the map out of their folder. Also if they join any other server etc.

Only way around this is if you rename the map and nav/txt file. Doing this breaks cubemaps and I believe custom embedded materials etc. may break. So youd have to decompile, change name, recompile, build cube maps and vide in custom content..

I am hosting it on my server, not from the work shop... and BTW, it appears that that issue of killing without firing a shot has gone away.. No reason and nothing changed, so I don't know. There is one of my servers that I cannot run it on because it does require more resources than it can give, but the other custom servers seems to be working ok.

@Spark, are you hosting directly from workshop or your server? If not, the map was recently updated to address the issues you're experiencing.

I really like the map, and I have it running ok on most of my servers with a couple of exceptions:

1.) Users get kills without ever firing a shot, or a bot being in view. I played solo and without firing a shot standing in a corner hiding and reloading I killed 4 bots. Have had other complaints concerning this.

2.) on one of my servers (admittedly on my slower backup box) the map is very glitchy and jumpy... Almost like seeing every 10th or 20th frame in a movie. Seems like this map requires a lot of horse power to run it smoothly. My newer server much faster and more virtual servers are running fine in this department.

I look forward to seeing future releases of this map.

@DeadWish, its stable now, but there is a vvis bug that makes the bots/players go invisible near fountain area but its still very playable. Ill make further adjustments later.

Beautiful map, tx. However re: the prop_physics and dynamics, those aren't stable. Vibrating noises within the walls, spinning wheelchairs and spot-lights high up in building corners...it's like an out-take scene from Poltergeist. Plus the ping-rate was double my norm, tho' it settled down a bit when I moved out of those zones. We'll give it a try tonight as is but I'll be surprised if it's playable.

Guys how do we load custom maps? Everytime I put in "map map_name game_mode" into the console, even though it trys to switch, it just drops on revolt map on hunt mode.
