I cant craft the key
BagelBalls 1 MAR 2015 a las 10:59
Therefore you have to travel the world in order to craft this.
BagelBalls 1 MAR 2015 a las 10:58
I think crafting recipe should be a SKULL a Giant's Toe, Troll Fat, salt, Slaughterfish scales, 2 Gold Bars.
Warmo  [autor] 28 FEB 2015 a las 15:12
Well this is a VERY old mod i made so ofcourse there are going to be new ones that work better/differently.
I had little knowledge of the in-game economy so i made the crafting receipe quite bad now I think bad, if anybody has any ideas what the recepie should be, leave a comment. Also if I update this, I will remove it being craftable in a smelter
BagelBalls 28 FEB 2015 a las 14:25
theres already a skeleton key mod, you get it for free, or if you lose it use 1000 gold/septims
Stormbow 27 FEB 2013 a las 17:57
For anyone that wants to keep this mod around, you can use the console to give yourself the perk.

player.addperk 10f13f

After doing that, you can craft this version of the skeleton key.
Warmo  [autor] 9 SEP 2012 a las 1:24
Sadly, because of the work i'm doing, I don't have much free time and can't change the mod, sorry :(
LolingStones 8 SEP 2012 a las 15:52
it still dont work :(
Nemesis 27 JUL 2012 a las 14:14
@Tirekyll

but now you dont need to spend perkpoints to get the unbreakble picks. ofcourse you are screwed when you endup in jail.
YouSpoonyBard1 28 JUN 2012 a las 21:13
Ok maybe you can help me. I gave back the old Skeleton key, But it is not On the Crafting list.... Any ideas???
Boomer Dante 11 JUN 2012 a las 10:17
AWESOME! I haven't completed the quest yet cause ii don't wanna give the key back xD but now i can finally end it.
Warmo  [autor] 21 ABR 2012 a las 7:24
@Tirekyll

I can understand where your're coming from, the next time I work on a mod, I was planning to seperate this mod into 2, then I can put more work into getting the skeleton key to work, I would have to see if I could trigger the add.perk value when the player recieves the item

This is thinking very far into the future, I only made this mod to try out the creation kit, I still can't believe so many people use this :)
Tirekyll 9 ABR 2012 a las 12:42
Not really necessary, get lockpicking skill up and be able to pick locks without the picks breaking(very useful for escaping jail). Also, another perk allows you to make a key in the shape of the lock, so you never have to pick it again(not as useful, since most houses don't have very good loot).

Making your own lockpicks is interesting, however with the amount found in chests, houses, and shops, this mod quickly loses viability. Once your lockpicking is high enough to never break a pick, you'll only EVER need to carry 1.

Don't like the skeleton key in any way, feels cheap to have 200 lockpicks in a single item. Also, there has to be scripting problems with having the skeleton key in skyrim as its quest forces you to give it back.

Edit: This mod has potential for warrior/mage characters, as lockpicking likely isn't a skill you would be investing points into.
Rusted_One 2 ABR 2012 a las 14:55
As with several other Mods-, I cannot get this one to function properly in conjunction. Think I'll un-Sub from it, but it's a great idea.

i dont see skeleton key
DeyvPlays 15 MAR 2012 a las 2:55
Just my 2 cents: once you give back the skeleton key, you can enter "player.addperk 10f13f" into the console to give yourself the necessary perk (not a perk from the skill tree, but a scripted one). Then you should be able to smith a Skeleton Key if you want to feel all legitimate about it, or use "player.additem 3a070 1" in the console to give yourself the Skeleton Key item. I still use and like this mod, though, since it should be possible to make lockpicks. (also, Iron Ingots cost 20, one Ingot makes 30 lockpicks, and I could sell lockpicks for 1 septim each early game. Easy "legitimate" money.)
Total Impulse 13 MAR 2012 a las 16:43
Don't see the Skeleton Key and I beat the Theives Guild.....
Grumble 11 MAR 2012 a las 17:42
When you lose the Skeleton Key, you also lose the perk that prevents it from breaking. To make this mod work correctly, you will also have to give the player back the same perk when he crafts the new skeleton key.
Tom 6 MAR 2012 a las 4:51
Yea, key keeps breaking. Acts like a normal lockpick. D: Not sure if it did that when I started using this mod, but it does now anyway.
Acecool 28 FEB 2012 a las 11:49
Skeleton key breaks. It does not work like the true skeleton key which never breaks. I'm not sure if it removes lockpicks from inventory or not. But this is just like having 200 lockpicks in your inventory. Unsubscribed until bugs are fixed.
Warmo  [autor] 20 FEB 2012 a las 13:12
How does the key break? On my game, if you use it to much, the key goes into the lock, pauses for a second and then you can try again

I will be updating my mod soon to change the skeleton key to be only craftable when you have the right perk, this should fix problems with the key breaking, because you don't have it (which I still don't understand why)

@ Treodeo
Making it craftable in the workshop, it will give you exp, whereas the smelter doesn't
Also, my first version of the mod let you craft the key and lockpick in a tanning rack :)
SquishyMage 20 FEB 2012 a las 10:38
For some reason the key keeps breaking. It can still be used afterwards, but the original skeleton key never broke. Is there a way to fix that?
BigBeard13 17 FEB 2012 a las 23:37
Maybe add something where the skeleton key breaks after so many uses, and costs less, but still valuable ingots or items to make it.
Tinabelle 16 FEB 2012 a las 20:55
Rather than crafting with a s__tton of materials, why not just make it purchasable, but really, really expensive? Doesn't make physical sense that it would take 30 effing moonstones to make a tiny key.

@prepboy
His stupid what?
76561198058864697 16 FEB 2012 a las 15:09
how do you get this mod
76561198058864697 16 FEB 2012 a las 15:07
your stupid this doesnt work
Kuzookoo 14 FEB 2012 a las 14:50
Why would it make sense to make a lockpick in the smelter? For sake of realism not accessibility is the point im trying to make here.
Warmo  [autor] 13 FEB 2012 a las 8:15
The key breaks aperently because you don't have the perk, as long as you have completed the quests for the thieves guild it should be ok
Gary the Dagger DICK 13 FEB 2012 a las 4:34
should the skeleton key even break and reset?
Vonduko 12 FEB 2012 a las 17:13
i dont need a skeliton key when you can do this press button under esc click door/chest/gate and type /unlock then press enter
orgamin 12 FEB 2012 a las 1:11
Works fine with german version. Would like local translation "Skelettschlüssel".
cerealkeller 11 FEB 2012 a las 9:49
Nice, now I can give up my skeleton key and get that acheivement without losing the ability to quickly pick locks. Legendary!
Evie 11 FEB 2012 a las 5:36
A big applause for you, Warmo! *applause*
And a drumroll! *little man whispering in my ear*

WHAT!? You are out of drums!? How is that even POSSIBLE??
Sorry if I dissapointed you, Warmo. e_e

(LOL, I Love Roleplay. ^o^")
Warmo  [autor] 11 FEB 2012 a las 4:26
When I get round to it, I'll load up one of my old saves and see what the problem is about the breaking keys
Warmo  [autor] 11 FEB 2012 a las 4:25
I don't understand how the key is breaking for some people
I may edit the mod so it can only be craftable when you already have the perk, as I guess you will be given the perk when you unlock the key legit in-game this is done by doing the thieves guild quests

@President Brobama
This won't conflict with that mod, I could create a new mod where a skeleton is really easy to craft but its not supposed to be like that
Nemo 10 FEB 2012 a las 14:37
So is the issue with the Skeleton Key breaking solved? I don't want to craft this and break it on the first hard lock. I already have a mod that lets you see the sweet spot of a lock if you can't pick it after 90 seconds. I just want the item, much more interesting than looking at the iron picks.
Warmo  [autor] 10 FEB 2012 a las 8:49
After looking at the skeleton entity on the cration kit, I think it adds the perk anyway but i'm not sure
Warmo  [autor] 10 FEB 2012 a las 8:41
Are you sure that the key breaks? It normally just resets and you keep using it

I may change the mod so you need the perk to craft it, I can't find a way that the game will give you the perk when you recieve the item after crafting it

Maybe you should complete the quest this item is in before crafting the skeleton key
Wee Jock McPlop 10 FEB 2012 a las 5:49
Isn`t working. i did it with player.addperk 10F13F but there is no skeleton key to craft.
DeadKennyBoy 9 FEB 2012 a las 23:04
wats on his head?
Oogge 9 FEB 2012 a las 14:16
As Monktrist said, should not be listed as UI, weapons or merchant mod.
Mister Maow 9 FEB 2012 a las 14:02
add the 'Skeleton Key Perk' (10F13F) in order for it to work properly. command is player.addperk <variable> Thats how you get he key to work right if you add it via a console command anyways. maybe the same issue as.
anal_boss228 9 FEB 2012 a las 11:55
Tell me why this key is broking like usual lockpick?
Warmo  [autor] 9 FEB 2012 a las 11:51
@burning_kittins

Hmm I might do that but im not sure lol
StefanFr 9 FEB 2012 a las 11:04
@burning_kittins Dont say that to loud!
thetrevster 9 FEB 2012 a las 9:37
Many thanks for creating this! I never minded paying for lockpicks but sometimes they were a bit scarce at the shops.
Mister Maow 9 FEB 2012 a las 9:00
They skeleton key should require more unique ingredients. Maybe a flawless gem or two.
Warmo  [autor] 9 FEB 2012 a las 4:00
Next time I update this mod, I might make the skeleton key only craftable when you have a certain perk, and also change the number of lockpicks to 15 or 20
Monk T 8 FEB 2012 a las 20:22
This should not be filed under UI, Weapons, or Merchants.
Hells Assailant 8 FEB 2012 a las 18:13
Why make it so we can create Skeleton Keys? Last i checked that is an unbreakable lockpick that was technically a Daedra artifact so uh kind of lame :/
