thank you for this mod. It is nice to load it together with other mods which makes the game harder and more difficult so this mod can give us a new chance to actually win burtal or impossible campaigns :karlee_sad:

ill be honest the game is not currently installed on my computer and i no longer have a local copy of the mod , so its hard for me to test
i'll try to install the game and download the mod as soon as i can to take a look but it might take some time , between the kids , work and the corona virus craze i just don't have the time

I understand the concept, I 'mod' a few games like that. But I haven't started modding this one so I am not familiar with the files and the locations etc. The game didn't break, exactly, it just didn't register the addition of the Automated Factory for the Physics Tech that was given as a package deal with the Expansionist Perk. Like I said, I tried to remake the game using Militarist rather than expansionist and it works fine. I also have the 200 perk point mod but if I recall correctly, the mod at the bottom is the one with precedence, yes? Your mod is at the bottom because it is the newest one I added. The only other mods I have going are the Antaran victory without attacks mod, the 1 citizen per home world mod, and the Battle Pods Revert mod. I don't see them modding the Automated Factory but since I don't know what file it is in..

This mod hasn't changed since 2017 so one of a number of things happened
Either there was an update to the game that changed something (i really doubt it)
Or there is another mod touching the same files as this mod
See in this game you don't actually mod , unlike so many others , you just tweak the values in the XMLs
now if two mods change the same values in the same XML there will be a collision and this might break your game

UPDATE: I tried again and discovered that if I took Militarist, so I didn't start with Physics, when I actually take physics it works fine. I get the automated Factory. Still not sure why this happened but I can play the game now. I didn't want to go a whole game without AF because of a glitch. I also noticed that some mod, I don't know which one, was messing with Physics and Engineering. I know that in games I played yesterday, before I installed this mod, when I began with Expansionist, I could already build Destroyers but according to the tech tree, that should require Engineering. So, one of my other mods is messing with those...

I only just started using this mod and I noticed something right away that I can't explain. I have a Creative 500% selected but it doesn't give the 500% bonus, so I have to have that ticked too under the research bonus. When I do, I can't also have Creative selected but that is ok if the Creative +500 is acting as Creative. But then in my first game, (I also have Expansionist) I noticed that I can 't build Automated Factories. I look on the tech tree and I have Physics, whichs says I should be able to. I also have biology and the farms and biospheres are available but the Automated Factories are missing. This is the only mod I recent'y added so it is either because of this mod or it is a collision with another one.

its a matter of opinion but they should really be more acceptable to those that dont like it
i for one dont hate the game, its ok , it has its flaws
But i remember playing MOO2 when it was new (95 i think it was)
and this game doesn't give me the same thrill
so i understand why some people dont like it
i wish they would have made it a little more open for modders instead of just giving us a few dozen files to tweak (because you cant really change the core game with this files)

the problem with modding this game unlike say Stellaris or warband
is that the dev have a lot of things hard coded
now i admit i havn't looked but im going to wager a guess that its hard coded
this game is more psudo modable
heck i cant even create another battle pods module because the game is hard coded to only look for a specific string and it cant appear on two different modules
so you can change battle pods but you cant add more diversity for different races

As i said , its all about choice if someone feel more fun to play as a super race conquering everyone and bending the galaxy to their will

Thats the fun part of it being a mod and not a constant part of the game :)

Human players are already a lot better than the bots since the AI has so many heavy flaws. With a 500% increase ... how strong do you want to be? Is the concept so odd that players should think a bit in a strategy game?

The AI does not create cutsom races , so no
You create a custom race in order to change this values

funny , but its all about the options if you want to play as a little better then the AI this mods gives you that ability
Without the 200 perk points you can only choose a handful of improvments so its not that easy

This seems to be broken. Every time I enable it it the only race options I get is custom and when I open the diplomacy screen no races show up and some of the wording is messed up.

well first if you scroll all the way to the top you will see a tab called "Guides"
There is a "Modding basics" guide someone already wrote ( i found it after the fact but modding in this game is fairly easy)
second
all i did was go to the moo directory and into the modding folder and looked at RacialPerks.yaml
i looked at the different perks and then i just added a new key with the displayName: "+500%"
i tried posting an example but it seems like im not allowed that many characters

When you finish changing the file
place it in USERNAME\Documents\Master of Orion\Mods\MODENAME\

and it should be available locally to you
If you want to upload it you will also need a thumbnail

the mod guide should cover that

Would you be able to show me a guide or if possible, write up a guide on how to make custom perks like your 500% perks? I'm trying to work out at how you did that.

I unsubscribed to all my mods except 200 perks. I have disabled it and just choosen 500% Research & Population growth +Artifact (Total 10 Perks) & the result is no boost to research. The issue is just research.

i suggeset stopping all other mods except this one
make sure it works
and then start adding mods back to see which one clashes with this one
then choose which one you like better

p.s im currently using this mod myself (downloaded from steam not localy) so it works
its just a matter of which other mod changes things

if you are not getting any bost then the mod is not working or you have another mod that changes perks that is running over the file i created
is there any other mode that changes the racial perks file ?

I don't get the 500% Research boost. I just have the 200 perk active. I am not seeing any boost. I don't have creative selected. Is there something that is missing from this mod?
