Hmmm, sounds like you need to come up with a new gimmick for this station, then! Maybe something like this , but allow it to slide back and forth the entire length of your station, and attach some cargo boxes to it (think of it as a trolley that you can move with you as you work on different sections of your ship, and the repair block could help keep it repaired as your base inevitably gets attacked)

This needs about 200% more tram systems! No Epicus station is complete without at least one :)
