I made some changes to this mod here:

Perhaps a few people would test this out aside other mods and see if this is fixed and working?

Not so worried about the 12 Slots, but the Auto-Explore for Frigate and Destroyer is awesome. Shame it's not working with current game version.

The AI uses ship design templates that have a set maximum of specials they will equip which is usually lower than the maximum the hull allows for some reason.

No, I don't think the AI uses the slots. I can't be sure, but I suppose te AI uses some provided sets of modules (which I didn't change).

Also, there is a reportet problem I didn't check or address.
I just can't make myself launch this MoO again, sorry.
I will try the game again eventually, but for now I don't know if this problem actually exists, can be patched or when will I be able to get to it.

If anyone wants to redo this mod on his own (it's pretty simple) - he has my blessings.

Space factories shouldn't be producing anything. All they do is add production points to the planet based on mineral richness. Only the player or automated AI decides what is to be produced.

Trynnun, I'll probably be able to look into this on the weekend.
It could prove usefull if you could provide some additional info though.
Do you use any othe mod that could modify ShipHullTypes.yaml?
How does it stop factories from building? You don't have the option to order them? Or do you click a button, and nothing happens? Or do they start working but do so indefinetly without progress? Or some other way maybe?

Hm... It should not do anything to the space factories.
I'll check if I touched something I shouldn't have.
