Mr. Pyro the Narwhal 10 Aug, 2014 @ 9:01pm
been testing for a hour, if you hit ok (for me at least) it will minimize it and if you reopen it it just acts like nothing happend and you can continue on, I dont have realm of the diggle god, i only have the name it expansion pack, and it works fine. hopes this helps people
Mr. Pyro the Narwhal 10 Aug, 2014 @ 8:04pm
but when it says that its going to crash, i hit ok and it starts up like it would if nothing was wrong, pls test this out and see if you really do need it (i only have the "you have to name it expansion pack")

items/tome_rusty.png, sorry about missing the e
Mr. Pyro the Narwhal 10 Aug, 2014 @ 8:02pm
I just hit the thing and it started up without crashing, i think i may have bypassed what it needed somehow, it will prob crash when i see the item or pick it up though (the tome about lasers is what im talking about)
Mr. Pyro the Narwhal 10 Aug, 2014 @ 8:01pm
items/tom_rusty.png is what it says it missing, that is it

The only reason it requires realm of the diggle god is because it uses a picture (only ONE) out of it, if you changed that it wouldnt require it

An extremely overpowered but perhaps fun skill tree. I was one-shoting almost everything from an unlimited distance early game with just a 7 second free timer for EVERY skill! Fortunatley every skill is actually different from another, so it DOES have variety, thank goodness.
Otherwise no issues.
Doomcarver 26 May, 2013 @ 5:29am
Oh and it looks like the ultimate skill step crashes the game every time its used.
Doomcarver 24 May, 2013 @ 5:42pm
First skill seems to not regena nymore though
Eldrin 31 Jan, 2013 @ 4:30am
This skill tree is SOOO overpowered, expessaly if u play as a warrior/rogue and take this skill tree....... it friking one shots mostly everything early game on ROGUE difficulty and u dont even have to pay mana to use any of the skills, and also gives u +3 magic power per level.
Dunno about mid or late game but i quit playing with this skill tree after a few floors since it is so overpowerd which makes playing booring, dosnt feel like a survival anymore even on rogue difficulty.

*sees wrod "burninate"* mother of god.
StonelessKitty 12 Aug, 2012 @ 6:44pm
Im subscribing just for the use of 'Burninate'...

The mana drain on the first skill seems a bit excessive (it's, what, -20 per tick? it drains me to empty every time), and the final skill crashes the game (window closed without even giving me an error).
a.t.virginia 20 Jul, 2012 @ 9:45pm
so cool :)
Burzz 20 Jul, 2012 @ 4:45pm
Pretty awesome! Though, I feel like it is a little overpowered. 'Some People Spell It Lazor' in particular does fantastic damage for a low timer single target nuke..
Pau 16 Jul, 2012 @ 2:56am
nice

Corellon 14 Jul, 2012 @ 7:45am
I Agree can't have lazers without sharks
Pocket 13 Jul, 2012 @ 10:33pm
seems legit
Dikkun 13 Jul, 2012 @ 6:48pm
Lasers + sharks are the perfect combination....
Sinistar 13 Jul, 2012 @ 3:15pm
Totally ridiculous, making it perfect for Dungeonds of Dredmor.
Ansive 13 Jul, 2012 @ 11:18am
What about sharks? We can't have lasers without them.
Lord Pogans 12 Jul, 2012 @ 8:53am
Nice
Wiggler-sempai 7 Jul, 2012 @ 6:36am
I don't think this will add much mana regen because if i recall correlcty that no-longer pings off magic power. that being said, +21 magic power is still welcome...

@Kaidelong:

Yep! In my very quick-and-dirty testing, the sight debuff made a HUGE difference. I found a boss monster that there was no way I should have been able to beat (given that I just debug L'd once and p'd down the floors, thus I had no equipment) and the lasers were doing probably 2-5% of its hp per, but I hit it with the sight debuff first. It wandered around in circles trying to find me, unable to figure out what direction it was supposed to go. This gave me the time to unload the many, many lasers I shot it with.

As for the mana-upping... Ehh. It doesn't seem that major to me. The mana returns I was getting were along the lines of "3-10" which could've been explained by regular mana regen, even. I haven't extensively tested this, though (I make sure it all works as I expect it to and check low-and-high ends of scaling to see if it's massively over/underpowered) and there might be tricks getting stuff on the order of "a lot"?
Kaidelong 2 Jul, 2012 @ 4:38pm
Does sight debuffs actually do anything to monsters?

Just want to ask you if the laser debuff's mechanics are intentional. When it is lifted, you can end up with more mana than you had before as your max mana rises back up.

I've had a couple of mage sets dinking around, 90% done but stopped by some crippling bug. I'm really quite sad that "Kanadian Goalie" didn't get finished by Canada Day. ):
random_rolle 2 Jul, 2012 @ 7:53am
Oh i wont, just need a theme, i just tested a few untested skilsets on same char, worst. ever.
I dont even have time to play all chars, start too many , never get anywhere heh.
But i do love your sets. Keep em coming. Looking forward to a mage set from you. (Hint, Hint)

TSED  [author] 2 Jul, 2012 @ 7:47am
@random_rolle

Ha! Deaf knight was built around recasting short buffs as its play style. This is more beam-spam style stuff.

They are definitely different skills, though I guess if you're just screwing about early it'd be hard to tell. LAZIK debuffs the target's sight, so you can use it on a far-away but tough target to keep them confused as to where you are. 'Lazor' is more directly damage and leaves that fire mine around for further harassment. Don't give up yet - you're about to get the actual beam lasors!
random_rolle 2 Jul, 2012 @ 7:39am
Was pure luck tbh, but nope, i gained 22 mana in 3 rounds, consistently without any other buffs, i should have gained maybe 1 or 2.
Wast just testing this skill test really, only tested to third skill since i havent decided on a theme yet for this. But i cant really distinguish the effect of lasik and lazor. At least early both are very much a kill button :D Have you considered making a a completly different power? like a self vision/trap vision buff instead for lasik?
Anyway, i really love your sets, they are very thematic and usually quite well balanced. (And appropriatly silly).
Hope you make a more wizardy set sometime, without so many cooldown skills. Some of your sets have nice but short buffs that requires ALOT of recasting (like deaf knight).

But all in all, great skillsets. Just have to figure out so many themes now. (I always do theme characters).

@random_rolle

Are you sure this isn't just an effect of the -mana debuff "hiding" the mana pool? Still, I slightly tweaked the debuff and 30-second testing didn't seem to reproduce the result, so I uploaded again.

P.S. I'm impressed that you got in there before I managed to go with the real text! Have a kudos.
random_rolle 2 Jul, 2012 @ 7:25am
There is a possible exploit with the first skill. If you use it with empty mana, when the debuff disappears after 3 rounds and your mana comes back, you have way more than you should have.
