oml i love you so much I can't even express, I suck at terraforming but still need a decent map to build coasters off of. This is going to be all of my challenge and sandbox parks for the next long long while.

undrentide 16 Oct, 2017 @ 2:39pm
brilliant, gonna try a Halloween theme park with Brandybrook Wood :)
Yinxi  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 4:33am
These are all Sandbox parks. To play them, make sure you have subscribed by clicking the little green + beside the park(s) you want. Then after steam has downloaded the workshop content, launch Planet Coaster and go to "Play" on the main menu. Then click on the "My Parks" button and at the top of that page, there is a "Downloads" tab, if you click on that all of the parks which you have subscribed to are listed and you can "Play as Sandbox" from there. Hope this helps :)

Thank you all for the kind comments and feedback!

~Forbesy 23 Nov, 2016 @ 8:12pm
These are the best maps on the workshop, it would just be great if there was a way to play in challenge mode, kind of nice having to worry about money, perfect other than that
Zophrim 22 Nov, 2016 @ 7:22pm

Thanks! I done goofed, turned off auto-update a few days back so they just didn't download yet..
Yinxi  [author] 19 Nov, 2016 @ 1:55pm
Once you subscribe to the item you want by clicking the green + button beside it. Steam will download the Workshop content for you game. Then, in the main menu of the game, you click Play and then "My Parks", I think it's the bottom left button. Then at the top of the My Parks page is a tab called Downloads. They should be in there! Hope this helps :)
Collard Greens 19 Nov, 2016 @ 1:38pm
Probably a dumb question but are these supposed to be in the steam workshop section of my parks? I can't find them anywhere. :(
Yinxi  [author] 19 Nov, 2016 @ 11:07am
Happy Weekend Everyone! Two new larger sized Starting Terrains have been uploaded today! Brandybrook Wood and Rattlesnake Gulch! Get your Planet Coaster on!

I will make Challenge Terrains when I'm able! I promise, but I need a solid, reliable way to make them the way I want. I want people to be able to select their difficulty level, I want the game to start from Day 1 and I want people to have the starting capital they're supposed to, not just whatever I've left over. I want to be able to create them without a budget, or time constrains.

Thank you again for trying to help me achieve this with these ideas. It means a lot to me that so many of you try to help me out! But I hope that you can understand why I'm not trying to make them at current! :)

((Damned Steam Comment Word Limit! :P))

I really want to be able to make Challenge maps for people but the maps I have released so far take on average about 4-7 hours of work. Considering that I blew through the initial challenge mode budget in a matter of minutes (Seriously, I'm not making that up. Start a challenge map and try to dig a lake!) when I attempted to make one, the amount of money needed would be insane. That, plus the fact that I'm not really a good Planet Coaster player in terms of what I *should* be doing. I've spent 95% of my time playing this game building blank terrains for the workshop. Because that's what I enjoy doing the most! :D

I'm hoping beyond hope that there will be an update that allows me to save Sandbox Parks as Challenge Mode maps, or a Scenario Editor, or some less time-inducing, future proof way of doing it outside the game via file management. At present I just can't justify attempting to make them! Please understand that I want this as much as everyone else, but I want it done right.

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate the feedback and suggestions!

I had actually considered doing this because of how many people really want the Challenge Mode terrains. I sat down to work out how to do it and this method crossed my mind. In theory it is doable but in practice the whole process is too long-winded and drawn out to essentially have a save game with a budget for terraforming, stuck on whatever difficulty I picked when I started the map and stuck in one specific level style, Alpine, Tropical etc. Then there's the problem that I may get half finished and run out of money. Or finish and still have millions left over, which would render the whole "challenge" mode pointless.
saynotsweetanne 18 Nov, 2016 @ 11:38am
I think I've seen the way people do the Challenge park is to play a park, get a crazy amount of money, then delete the park and use the funds to terraform. Sounds like a lot of work, but once you had the money you can just rework from that starting point over and over.
Yinxi  [author] 17 Nov, 2016 @ 5:02pm
Thanks for the link! I looked through it all and it appears that one of the later updates after this was posted stopped it from working. The map opens in Challenge mode but you still get Unlimited Funds :( Hopefully an update in the future will open up more possibilities for Challenge mode scenario editing! Thanks again for posting it though! I wouldn't have seen it otherwise :)
relX 17 Nov, 2016 @ 4:13pm
So apparently there is a way to open Sandbox maps as Challenge:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetCoaster/comments/5c57io/workaround_for_a_map_creation_tool/
Haven't had the time to try it out though...
Kryton 17 Nov, 2016 @ 2:41pm
This is brilliant, thank you!
Yinxi  [author] 17 Nov, 2016 @ 9:45am
Happy Release Day Everybody!
Mirriky 16 Nov, 2016 @ 4:04pm
YAY!
Also this type of thing needs its own tag on the workshop
Yinxi  [author] 16 Nov, 2016 @ 3:32pm
We're back in action folks! New terrain on the larger sized map is available now! It was a lot of fun once I found some inspiration! There was a LOT more space to try and fill :D
Yinxi  [author] 16 Nov, 2016 @ 9:06am
I'm really glad you enjoy using them! :D

I'm hoping to get back into making some more with the larger maps at some point but I'm really not feeling the desire to do it at the moment. I've tried a few times but get a little ways into the park and then lose interest and it stops being fun :(

I'm really hoping that when it launches and gets a large influx of new players and creators we'll see some fantastic Starting Terrains made by others!
Mirriky 16 Nov, 2016 @ 7:26am
Thank you so much for these <3
This is what I desperatly need to really have fun in this game

I hope you create some for the larger maps at some point, but until then I will happily stick with these
Yinxi  [author] 15 Nov, 2016 @ 8:35am
If Frontier implement another patch that allow people to increase the size on their pre-existing saves then I will definitely update the ones I have already done

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. They were a great motivation to me whilst creating these terrains. I hope that when the game is released someone with the same enthusiasm and drive that I originally had creating these comes along to begin work on the larger maps!
Yinxi  [author] 15 Nov, 2016 @ 8:34am
In other news... Frontier just released a patch which increases map size! Which is fantastic as a lot of people had requested it! But there's no way for me to increase the map size on pre-existing maps that I have created :( Which means that the work I have done so far has kinda been rendered pointless (I can't imagine many people wanting to start on a terrain that is smaller than what they could have). Thanks Frontier! Soooo, as you could probably imagine I'm not really happy about losing 50+ hours of my life trying to be helpful to the community and to help others enjoy the game only for the Developers to come along and wipe that all out in a patch.

I won't be making any more terrains at present as I'm just feeling way too miffed about it. Sorry.
Yinxi  [author] 15 Nov, 2016 @ 8:34am
Hey all, thanks for the great feedback, I'm really happy you all find (found) these useful. Unfortunately there is no way for me to currently change these over to or create in Challenge mode. The park funds get used up when I try to edit the terrain, there's just not enough money and I would hate to have to upload a Challenge map that already has a load of loans etc. It's just not fair for you. Also, the difficulty would be tied at whichever one I selected when starting the map. Just as an example, I originally tried to create my latest map, Autumn Glade Park, in Challenge mode because of how many people had requested it but I burned through the initial starting funds just trying to dig out the lake!

Mc.Sug4r 15 Nov, 2016 @ 4:07am
Great job, thanks. Is there any way to port this over to challenge mode?
