Hey guys.
I have a question that I hope you can help me with. In the video and in the text above the player instructions are not the same? Which one should I use?

Finding this tactic to be really good away but really poor at home any suggestions on what to do?
matt_mcm_ni 25 Dec, 2016 @ 8:37am
Pretty successful tactic but don't think it's a 'game breaker' exactly. Still use it though. I've found I get very poor ratings for my striker though, regardless of their skill and I've tried a variety of roles with little success.

Currently testing out a Defensive Forward role with player with high work rate and stamina...

Best tactic I've used, Chelsea have dominated last 4 seasons using this tactic 80% of the the time.

So it seems I can't apply the "close down more" instruction when playing "slightly higher". It's only showing up with a "normal" defensive line.

Worked fine with most teams I play, recommended.

Got promoted with Birmingham 1st season with this tactic. Very tough 1st season in the premier league thoug, shipping a ridiculous amount of goals. Survived on the last day of the season. Scoring goals was never a problem but conceding them was, for instance at home to Spurs I lost 7 - 4. Being more disciplined from kick off sometimes helped against bigger teams, I went to Chelsea who were 1st and beat them 3 - 0, and also beat Arsenal at home, but my team had the worst defensive record in the division and almost cost us our premier league status

Love your work and your video was superb.
One little question, do the allocation of Managerial Style Points matter a lot to be succesfull at FM17 (and 16)? I found it really smart to "max" out the mental points and then allocate selectively on the coaching points in earlier games. Any thoughts?

@jordan It is very hard to have a one tactic fits all set-up; especially in the Premier League- pay close attention to what your Data Analyst tells you about what tactics the opposition are weak against/strong against.

That said this tactic does well for me, but not as a Key Highlights tactic, I play on extended (some times comprehensive) and tweak instructions situationally as Reckonist says in the description; then go to Key when I feel to game is under control or beyond hope.

Hope this helps - Manderville

Im struggling with liverpool with this tactic, i will go out and hammer some teams then lose by 4-5 to bigger teams! Also been hammered by west ham and crystal palace!
My teams fully familiar with the tactic. Any advice on how to get them playing consistant?

shit hot, i score tonnes condcede a few too but win more than I lose. Amazing tactic !
Steve 8 Nov, 2016 @ 4:40pm
What is this tactic like in years 2 onwards? Do you tweak it in later seasons to avoid AI finding you out?
Deimos 8 Nov, 2016 @ 9:53am
super tactic - used in first season with AC Milan and i'm top of league 10 games in. drawn 2 games. some of the wins were up to 5 goals!

A+ tactic
DenDylan 8 Nov, 2016 @ 7:42am
Works at all levels, used it at lower leagues and worked fine

Thanks

Absolutley Brilliant tactic gone 21 games unbeaten in Serie A with Roma with a 5-0 thrashing of Juve and an 8-2 pumping of Napoli!
MannenMytenYxel 7 Nov, 2016 @ 9:35am
Amazing tactic!
dan_jjones 6 Nov, 2016 @ 8:59am
This tactic is incredible in the game ive just started. 17 games in as everton boss and ive won all but 1 game which was a 1-1 draw with B'mouth!! only conceded 8 goals in that time too! Cheers

daver: I would really reccomend spending what you've got on a good CWB. The two best players in my squad are my fullbacks, and they consistently top the assist charts every season.
daver 4 Nov, 2016 @ 4:24pm
Love SCT. Very useful and flexible tactic. A question, though -- in lower leagues it's tough to find decent players at F9 and CWB. Any suggestions on how to deal with that? I know a DLP will get you most of what you'd get from a F9; they just won't drop as deep. I've been just trying to retrain into CWB, though, as playing with a WB role seems to keep the backs from bombing forward like they need to...
keany84 4 Nov, 2016 @ 9:53am
Scholes didn't need to tackle.. Too good
The Magpie 1862 4 Nov, 2016 @ 7:38am

Madao 3 Nov, 2016 @ 5:37pm
Nice tactic. But if I may ask, why do you call it 'Scholes Can't Tackle'?
Reck  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 4:47pm
Let me know how you get on with this. Its strong again this year. :soccerball:
