When you have made your own copy of the file in the documents\Master of Orion\Mods\NameOfYourMod folder - you need to add the mod in the game (it will be marked as local in the mods list).
Good luck.
The AI has such terrible shortcomings you win all the games ANYWAY. In the timeline graph everybody is almost at the bottom, while I peak out in my first game and I am not even a routined 4X player.
As long you use some basic common sense and don't make deliberate mistakes you win, THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO REASON TO THINK DEEPER AND TO OPTIMIZE STRATEGIES, ETC. For me that is a total deal breaker.
It's like playing chess vs a 5 year old, you can do that on "auto pilot" - simply no fun.
Was it really that much better before? Why did they destroy the game?
Until then, I hope the mods (with all the short comings) will still be of use to some of you.
You will not see any effect on saved games, only if you start a new game and create a custom race.
I'm subscribed, restarted,
in-game mod tab shows it as "active", but it doesn't show up in game. Also, it is not in my "documents/master of orion/mods" folder???
