this is usefull and handy when testing against super hard difficulty gameplay mode or stronger enemies with vast fleets and deadly ships attacks :vaultkey:

Tried this and for some reason the other races wouldn't leave their homeworlds

Now to make the chosen ones who will rule the galaxy. Thanks for the mod.

You copy RacialPerks.yaml from SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Master of Orion\Modding into documents\Master of Orion\Mods\NameOfYourMod folder. Then you open the yaml-file with a standard text editor like notepad or notepad++ and change the cost of the perks you want. The yaml file is relatively easy to understand and edit.
When you have made your own copy of the file in the documents\Master of Orion\Mods\NameOfYourMod folder - you need to add the mod in the game (it will be marked as local in the mods list).
Good luck.

How does one find the files to change the new perks to 1pt?
jojobe 23 Dec, 2019 @ 3:49pm

Nette Add-On für welche die nicht übermäßig Zeit haben zu Spielen aber trotzdem mal eine schnelle Partie Master of Orion spielen wollen.

Would be nice to be able to use the new perks but even without them using the basic core perks you can have a very powerful race. I just wish i could have omniscient when im playing extreme difficulty on a massive map.

If I ever have time to play the game again - I will update the mod. I know it is almost 2 years old now - and most likely it is no longer valid with all the updates that passed.
Galaxar7 14 Sep, 2018 @ 1:16pm
in in Revenge of Antares Race Pack this dont work.
paladin017 26 Jun, 2017 @ 7:30pm
Works fine , even if new races perks seems not to be concerned (like omniscient or fantastic traders ) . Nobody's perfect and yes this mod is useful to some, Thanks for your work .

I don't understand the hate. If you don't like a mod, don't use it. Simple.

*speechless* ... If it's true that the AI was more intelligent/tougher before, then I come definitely too late!

The AI has such terrible shortcomings you win all the games ANYWAY. In the timeline graph everybody is almost at the bottom, while I peak out in my first game and I am not even a routined 4X player.

As long you use some basic common sense and don't make deliberate mistakes you win, THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO REASON TO THINK DEEPER AND TO OPTIMIZE STRATEGIES, ETC. For me that is a total deal breaker.

It's like playing chess vs a 5 year old, you can do that on "auto pilot" - simply no fun.

Was it really that much better before? Why did they destroy the game?
David  [author] 25 Mar, 2017 @ 1:07am
This mod was made before a lot of the updates - at that time the AI was different and the balance was not in favor of the player. That is also why some of the newer perks are not included. I have not played the game for some time, but if I return to the game I will update the mods.
Until then, I hope the mods (with all the short comings) will still be of use to some of you.

The game is already ridiculous easy. The AI races pay self-destroying annual payments for trade treaties, does at the same time not make trade treaties among each other (with 8 AI races the human player can make 8 trade treaties and get even more than the same amount again from the annual payments they are willing to pay for it. In other words: The human player has around 17 times the money of any AI race. While their development comes virtually to a halt the human player can buy all the producions with all that money), the AI races have no leaders (human players have many leaders, which can reach level 5, ...
Doc✪Hollywood 24 Mar, 2017 @ 9:02pm
... and so any leader can do something usefull like "Empire Science +50%", "Beam Weapons +50%", "income +30%", etc) they are totally inept in combat (with a single cruiser I just won vs 6 frigates and 2 destroyers because the AI sucks thoroughly in combat), the AI races build sometimes the most stupid buildings/construciton while a colony is starving to death, etc. etc. With a super race I can set construction on auto-build and, assigne workers to balanced, and simplified hit 200 times "next round" to win the game. That is no fun. It would be more interesting to make an extreme weak custom race. But I guess that as well is no fun.

Nice.

Subscribed mods should be in a numbered folder under "\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\"
David  [author] 6 Nov, 2016 @ 1:49pm
The mod will not show up in your "documents/master of orion/mods" folder, but the cost of the perks when you design a custom race should be lower with the mods active.

You will not see any effect on saved games, only if you start a new game and create a custom race.
BigHorse 6 Nov, 2016 @ 7:51am
So how do we downoad???
I'm subscribed, restarted,
in-game mod tab shows it as "active", but it doesn't show up in game. Also, it is not in my "documents/master of orion/mods" folder???
Casval 4 Nov, 2016 @ 11:55am
Thanks
David  [author] 4 Nov, 2016 @ 11:32am
I just uploaded "Many Opponents" that will allow up to 8 CPU opponents in any of the galaxy size/types.
Casval 3 Nov, 2016 @ 8:04pm
Nice. By the way, is there anyway to increase cpu opponents to more than 7?
David  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 1:46am
I changed creative so you get the 50% research bonus, but instead of updating the mod the ingame tool creates a new mod every time you upload. So you need to subscribe to the new mod I uploaded to get the extra research bonus. Sorry for the inconvinience.
Avalanche 3 Nov, 2016 @ 1:06am
Just so you know, it would be cool if you could have creative and 50% research bonus.
