such a simple yet wonderful mod
MrMcManus 29 Aug, 2023 @ 7:13pm
I subscribed to this mod almost a decade ago and ever since, I can't play this game without it. In my humble opinion, this is the best mechanical tweak mod this game has ever seen.
Thank you so much.

Love this mod, simple and great! Thank you :)

That's wonderful. If I can be of any assistance, let me know, and I'd be happy to help. I've been using this mod in the mean time, and I'm impressed by how smooth it feels.
Halokon  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 2:34pm
Hey Kreldin, that's not a bad idea! It's been a while but that shouldn't take much time at all to do, I'll have a look in the next day or two and if it's a thing I release I'll let you know. Thanks for the feedback!

This looks like a great mod, but isn't quite what I was looking for. Is there a chance you could make a version of this (or a seperate mod) that simply increases the in-combat stamina and Magikca regen rates to equal their out of combat counterparts?

It's allways bothered me how your stats regenerate -slower- in combat. If anything, I would think that the rush of adrenaline would make them regenerate faster, though I feel that would be OP in practice.

I'd try making the mod myself, but I havent the first clue where to even start.

Dosen't make sense playing as a lizard that's able to run in the cold weather of Skyrim but what the heck, it makes the game less tedious when running up mouintans.

i. only. have. to. say. meh, ive seen better, but u do get my thumbs up :3
Hydrazoan 21 Jul, 2014 @ 10:44am
I have a thing against horses... So that tweak to sprinting really makes running around a lot more enjoyable : D
Bert 11 Jan, 2014 @ 8:46am
Not overpowered, the tweaks make sence, needed imo, thx
WetBreadMachine 3 Oct, 2013 @ 7:07pm
you think combat was interuppted by running out of stamina too often?
play morrowind, then come back to me.
-[RedEyedJedi]- 6 Aug, 2013 @ 3:17am
infinite stamina is no fun. this is more of a much needed tweak (at least for those who want it)
RadKit 20 Jul, 2013 @ 10:58pm
By far my favorite mod. Totally not a cheat, just a much needed tweek.
Halokon  [author] 14 Jul, 2013 @ 9:05am
Because infinite stamina is unbalanced to the max. There are console cheats and cheat mods if that's what you'd prefer.
Easy Redbeard 13 May, 2013 @ 12:45am
Perfectly balanced and very useful without breaking immersion. Definitely compatible with Hearthfire and Dawnguard.
torok551 10 Nov, 2012 @ 12:33pm
Dawnguard compatable?
Wakka 3 Sep, 2012 @ 8:36am
combat so sexy!!!!!!!!!!!
sage 1 Aug, 2012 @ 3:22pm
Good mod! I think you should adjust the stamina drain for bow zoom, though...
Mankar Camoran: Remastered 5 Jul, 2012 @ 7:49pm
Honestly, this is my favorite mod on the nexus.
Jimmyweeds 8 May, 2012 @ 4:12pm
ha ha ha this looks funny
Gaben4President 6 May, 2012 @ 11:42am
Lovin this mod.
DYBoulet 6 May, 2012 @ 10:34am
I am thoroughly enjoying this mod.
Orangey 4 Apr, 2012 @ 11:28am
YES... was looking fot this. Stamina is a bitch. Also goes good with all the more realistic gameplay mods i downloaded. I mean, a hero that slays dragons shouldnt be fatigued by sprinting 50 meter, no? thx
Gaben4President 3 Apr, 2012 @ 9:10pm
Much better than wasting my points by pouring them into stamina.
dobiegirl1 7 Mar, 2012 @ 11:34pm
I really like these adjustments to the stamina problem.Since I usually do alot of running and slashing anyway for the most part.Very useful for us melee types :) . No probs. w/the mod either. Rated: 9/10 ,For nothing is perfect!!!!
Conker 14 Feb, 2012 @ 11:28am
Why not just put points into stamina...
Halokon  [author] 13 Feb, 2012 @ 10:59am
In what way does it not work finc?
Focus.D_117 13 Feb, 2012 @ 10:37am
Would love it if it worked...
FastRedPonyCar 13 Feb, 2012 @ 9:09am
Really helpful mod IMO. Doesn't throw off the balance of combat at all.. just lets you run farther across the countryside hither and yon.
Lyncor 11 Feb, 2012 @ 7:39pm
Is this global, or does it apply only to the player?
SG7 11 Feb, 2012 @ 6:57pm
In my opinion sprinting efficieny could be reduced. Great mod but I admit I miss having to pace myself in dungeons incase there was a tough fight ahead in which I needed full stamina. Sprinting through dungeons without having to worry about being ready for what's around the corner makes dungeons less suspensful I think. Worth it for the better combat though.
Mr_Oob 11 Feb, 2012 @ 1:20am
The irony for me is I was just thinking how great leaching stam. from enemies was >.>... Perhaps I'll just use this mod instead of having stam. leach on my weapons xD!

Great pic. by the way xD!
Melos 10 Feb, 2012 @ 6:45am
My battles are usually rather stiff, even if there's alot going on. I often just end up slashing back and forth, not doing much. Perhaps some Stamina gain might give you the extra "Unf" in battle. It sure as hell might do so for me. (Since most of my 2handed blows drain like 70% stamina per hit, even if you've added lots of stamina, and added lots of 2handed specialization)
Cloud Strife 9 Feb, 2012 @ 11:22pm
Well, I think about wearing light armor and putting points into stamina when I'm levelling up.

I mean, some people just want to be over power instead of developing strategy and tactic, exactly like the enchantment mod that allow you to put any enchantment on any item.

Yeah that's right, my combat are ultra sexy without this mod, indeed.
havek 9 Feb, 2012 @ 7:31pm
@Halokon..thanks for when you get back looking at the stamina for archers like me.....I am so sick with the bow.!:) Alsofrom reading the comments do not alot of people beef up there stamina? I am only level 29 but I have 450 for my stamina....I am a pack rat all the way and can carry soooo much stuff.
Hexhaver 9 Feb, 2012 @ 12:13pm
Anyone who thinks this is a cheat doesn't try to sprint...it's insane that the mighy slayer of dragons runs out of wind after swinging a sword 5 times or sprinting 30 feet.
Voxbunn 🐇 9 Feb, 2012 @ 8:54am
finally, now I don't have to increase my total stamina through the console every time I make a new character. Thanks!
Halokon  [author] 9 Feb, 2012 @ 7:26am
I don't really feel it's a cheat, I'd classify a cheat as something which intends to unbalance the game, whereas this is a genuine attempt to even out the stamina usage to make the game more enjoyable, I.e. a gameplay tweak.

As for the bow zoom, I toyed with that, but I don't have a character to test with, and I'm currently away from my pc, but when I get back at the weekend, I'll get an arrow slinger and add that in, see if I can get a good feel for it.

For everyone else, I will be learning some scripting (which shouldn't take too long) and so should have the first steps to a levelling out of these bonuses so that early game feels more fun and late game less unbalanced (because having 40% off bashes makes it easily spamable with perks), which you can expect to be in the mod by early next week!

Thanks for the number of subscribers and ratings, for such a small mod, the response has been great, thanks again!
CerberOid777 8 Feb, 2012 @ 11:02pm
Category cheat must be added...
havek 8 Feb, 2012 @ 7:13pm
what about slowing down the stamina drain when you are in zoom mode for the bow...that uses stamina too.
Najma Rozaline 8 Feb, 2012 @ 12:50pm
thanks
h0tsauce 8 Feb, 2012 @ 12:02pm

Keep it just as is...:)
Seiko Hirai 8 Feb, 2012 @ 3:41am
I got here for the Picture xD It's hilarious.
Strike Counter 3 7 Feb, 2012 @ 10:36pm
I like this aswell but I do feel like 75% is a little unbalancing.
Halokon  [author] 7 Feb, 2012 @ 10:22pm
Yeah, the creation kit has a detailed and a more detailed field, which steam ignores, so my well written description got junked, hence the period of time with no description, sorry!

As for the levels, yeah, of course! I'm aware that right now, it's ideal for just starting out, combat seems balanced, but I don't have a high level character to test it out on, so I reckon there are obvious and definite issues with the game's own methods for reducing stamina consumption, as well as larger stamina pools too. I don't know the extent to which I can change things in terms of levelling up, but I intend to have it start at these levels, where you don't know what you're playing, but curtail off to the games own levels, because late game is fine from what i played on the xbox, and if you get to level 30 or so and have no stamina perks or stamina pool increases, you clearly aren't playing a warrior and so should be punished in terms of stamina. I'll update as I poke around the kit!
h2od 7 Feb, 2012 @ 10:10pm
I want this, but I feel like 75% less costly is a LOT- can you make one that makes them about 25% less costly, as there are already perks for dedicated warriors to decrease the stamina use. The sprint is perfect imo.
