My only complaint is the second last chapter; too many areas where the AI are buttfuck retarded and can get trapped or insta-killed. Other than that, this was great and I highly recommend this for any Resident Evil fan!
9/10
It's an interesting campaign, but after an hour or two of playing I wasn't about to repeat a map I nearly completed because the bot nav is botched.
Cutscenes are a bit strange. They work for the most part but I had one cutscene during a fight where one survivor was incapped and nearly killed during the cutscene because the infected were not paused.
All in all, my tl;dr rating: Probably worth it if you're willing to copy the VPK elsewhere (or get it from GameMaps), extract it, delete all the useless custom content for infected models/sounds and such, and repackage. Personally I'm not gonna bother. Roku's RE maps scratch this RE itch far more professionally IMO.
Main problem is custom content. I never understand why map makers want to cram in a bunch of unwanted custom sounds and models for infected and guns and such - we're already on the Workshop here, it's commonplace for players to already have the mods they want for those things. So it causes conflict issues.
Also, a lot of these custom sounds are bugged with horrible screeching at the end of their playback.
we had to walk around, lost, to figure out what changed
it would be nice if the now unlocked doors is more obvious and the maps will be less frustrating
I really like it, I've searched for it many times, with no results and I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Some notes:
- The RE audio and skins are a great addition, but there is some hissing/buzzing from at least one of the audio files that is a little distracting.
- This campaign really seems to tax the L4D engine. We experienced a little slowdown in places. If your computer specs are a little old, you might have some trouble with frame rate in places.
- It can be a little difficult in places. If you're not too experienced or playing with just bots, you may need normal difficulty or lower in some spots.
- Loved the hive of tanks in the finale.
Thanks for making this. It must have taken a lot of work, and it definitely shows. Well done.
Imma play and see if there is any problems
