@Lucasa21 They shouldn't conflict as far as I know but I don't use Total Advent Weaponry myself as I tend to stick to using my mods. You might get a couple of duplicate weapons, I'd say use one or the other but I don't see any immediate problems with using both at the same time as I'm pretty sure Total Advent Weaponry has completely custom weapon models and class names where as I used a lot of ones that were already in the base game.
Lucasa21 (4ta) 22 Aug, 2022 @ 6:32pm
hey, quick question, will this one conflict with the Total Advent Weaponry - WOTC or the ADVENT Mec SPARK Rifle [WotC] or are just additions or updates to those mods ? they look amazing btw
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 24 Sep, 2021 @ 12:03pm
No problem, happy to help. :D:
Lord Bubba 24 Sep, 2021 @ 11:53am
You're the best! :steamhappy:
Lord Bubba 1 Jan, 2021 @ 10:20pm
Oh. Okay. Thanks!
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 1 Jan, 2021 @ 11:42am
There's one for each tech tier.
Lord Bubba 1 Jan, 2021 @ 10:28am
Okay. Found it! But why is it necessary to edit all three?
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 1 Jan, 2021 @ 7:56am
Workshop mods should download to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500 or your equivalent steam location. Then the ID number of the mod, which I don't know but if you search XComADVENTRifleConventional.ini, XComADVENTRifleMagnetic.ini and XComADVENTRifleBeam.ini in that folde ryou'll find the files.
Lord Bubba 31 Dec, 2020 @ 11:48pm
Well...like an idiot, I don't have a mod folder. I just download the file straight from the Workshop. I don't know where it goes.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 31 Dec, 2020 @ 4:11pm
You want to edit the XComADVENTRifleConventional.ini magnetic and beam files in the config folder of the mod. Can be easily done in notepad and it's just a value change.
Lord Bubba 31 Dec, 2020 @ 3:24pm
Damage of the Advent Rifle.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 31 Dec, 2020 @ 2:44pm
@Lord Bubba What do you want to edit about it? Depending what you want to edit you may need to look into different files.
Lord Bubba 31 Dec, 2020 @ 1:48pm
How can I edit this mod?
Newb. 8 Jun, 2020 @ 2:52pm
alright dude cheers for the info man
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 8 Jun, 2020 @ 8:36am
@ThePureNewb Um, it will but there are extra weapon tiers in LW? Might not work 100% as expected. I don't use LW personally so I wouldn't know, sorry.
Newb. 8 Jun, 2020 @ 2:49am
does this work with long war??
Reuz 10 Dec, 2019 @ 12:54pm
That's plausible, I grabbed the Advent Priest rifle, might have come along with that somehow
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 10 Dec, 2019 @ 12:53pm
@Reuz Oh nice! You might have a mod installed that is making the textures work in that case because they can be a bit hit and miss between game versions.
Reuz 10 Dec, 2019 @ 12:51pm
FYI Subscribed to this by accident with my WOTC campaign and it does seem to work anyway lol
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 13 Sep, 2019 @ 11:50am
No problem! Enjoy. :)

@OG:

Thanks for the quick response! Yup; that's the one. I happened to find it after posting my question. Thanks a bunch.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 8 Apr, 2019 @ 4:39am
It's Dor's Awesome ADVENT Armour mod, you can find it here:

To the author:

Hey man, in screenshot six, one of your soldiers has an ADVENT uniform. Which MOD is that?
QAQ 6 Mar, 2019 @ 3:02am
@[OG]CombatMedic02 Thank you. Please take your time. I am not in a hurry finishing my long war anyway :)
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 3:59pm
@QAQ Yeah, it is weird, if you give me a few days I'll look into it at the weekend? Last time I tested the base game version of this mod I'm pretty sure it was working fine but I'll check it again over the weekend to see if I'm getting the error on my side? If I am I'll try to fix it and will push an update. Thanks for making me aware of it. :)
QAQ 5 Mar, 2019 @ 2:08pm
@[OG]CombatMedic02 Thank you for your reply. I don't know why the error happened either, but it persists. Maybe it's just my machine throwing tantrum. Then again, I guess I could base on your code and xcom original asset to create a private mod to circumvent this issue, so no biggie.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 11:05am
@QAQ That's weird... this should be the non-wotc one, I published it with the old tools? Not sure I quite understand this error.
QAQ 5 Mar, 2019 @ 5:59am
Sorry to brother you, but when I tried this mod, I encountered the following error in my log:
[0024.16] Warning: Warning, Unable to load package (E:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\779124269/Content/ADVENTArmoury_ModShaderCache.upk) PackageVersion 845, MaxExpected 845 : LicenseePackageVersion 120, MaxExpected 108.
[0024.16] Warning: Warning, Failed to load 'E:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\779124269/Content/ADVENTArmoury_ModShaderCache.upk': Unable to load package (E:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\779124269/Content/ADVENTArmoury_ModShaderCache.upk) PackageVersion 845, MaxExpected 845 : LicenseePackageVersion 120, MaxExpected 108.

Maybe it was because the mod package was somehow modified in the WotC tools? Would you mind reuploading the non-wotc one if that was the case?
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 25 Feb, 2018 @ 5:35am
@MichaelStevens(Educator) The rifle is the only weapon that could have them anyway. I will probably add them in at somepoint, just felt like it might make it seem a bit overpowered combined with the mark target ability. Have been doing a lot of work on my WotC weapons at the moment but I will get round to upgrading this mod with the new things I have learned while modding at some point.
Iceberg 24 Feb, 2018 @ 9:19pm
Can't add or edit upgrade slots.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 16 Sep, 2017 @ 6:21pm
@Conefed I haven't added any extra code for Long War. Probably will at some point but I don't play Long War so it isn't a priority for me.
Conefed 16 Sep, 2017 @ 5:47pm
Do they improve infiltration in Long War?
TheDwemerComrade 10 Sep, 2017 @ 6:41am
Alright. Thanks.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 10 Sep, 2017 @ 4:31am
It will work with Long War but Long War has five tech tiers and the base game only has three. Basicly you might find them a bit underpowered when weapons advance past the beam tier. Will work fine up till then though. The issues people were having more likely would have been missing textures as everything has moved around a bit in War of the Chosen. I thought I had found a way to fix this but I guess not. So I made a version for each game.
TheDwemerComrade 9 Sep, 2017 @ 6:01pm
Well then if it's not compatible for long war, that might be the issue people are having. You haven't exactly said it's not compatible in the description.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 5:21pm
@TheDwemerComrade Done, this is now the version for the base game, probably not going to upgrade it for Long War any time soon as that it quite a bit of work and I don't get much time. Also have a list of stuff I want to get made. :P
TheDwemerComrade 9 Sep, 2017 @ 10:03am
I'm just more concerned if it works with Long War. If it could be made compatible I'd be grateful as hell.
TheDwemerComrade 9 Sep, 2017 @ 6:36am
Cool, thanks.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 2:08am
It should definitely be working for War of the Chosen. I'll make a Base game version for this mod soon I guess.
☠ΩVesta's Fume KnightΩ☠ 8 Sep, 2017 @ 3:20am
Just upload a separate version ignoring the vanilla version. Who doesn't have the DLC can already enjoy this mod in this page. Who instead has War Of The Chosen needs an upgrade. Don't try to do mods for the both version cause doesn't work. The expansion completely changed the game from Vanilla plus you just do an useless work cause as I said the vanilla version was already available :)
TheDwemerComrade 7 Sep, 2017 @ 7:25am
It doesn't really seem to be working for me either. None of them show up.
Matikanefukukitaru 6 Sep, 2017 @ 10:18pm
Also, please, don't even try to make one version work for both at this point, unless you've done extensive testing for it. Firaxis seems to have changed so much that over 90% of the non-voicepack mods broke anyway, so...I doubt it's a good idea. :/
Musashi seems to have tried that too, with including versions for both in a single mod as well, and in his tests it kept breaking or crashing in strange ways, if I understood and remember what he wrote correctly.
Matikanefukukitaru 6 Sep, 2017 @ 10:15pm
I have the same problem since the last update. Worked before. Loaded my safe, with not a single mod changed except for this, and they stopped being there. (non-expansion)
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 4 Sep, 2017 @ 8:30am
@keefypants The way they work might have changed for the new game, a couple of other things have .ini wise. I'll take a look to see if I can fix this at some point, probably when I look into making these weapons customisable. I kept the price of upgrading on the rifles because of the added benefits of mark target plus I think I made them slightly better in minor ways over the base rifles.
keefypants 4 Sep, 2017 @ 1:13am
The research templates don't seem to be working. I don't want to spend resources twice to upgrade normal rifles then these rifles, so I lowered the cost of the reseach in the template to 0 for everything. However, the costs still stay the same in game even though it should be 0.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 1 Sep, 2017 @ 6:28am
Hmmm I see, sorry dude. I mean I don't have another machine to test it on and it seems to be working for mine. Unless it's happening for other people too and we're able to narrow down the cause I'm not really sure what I can suggest to fix it. :/
IceWallow Come 1 Sep, 2017 @ 6:25am
It's not conflicting with any of my mods so it's another problem.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 1 Sep, 2017 @ 5:25am
No? For me they were available after the first mission. I could choose the advent rifle as a replacement for my rookie's rifles for example. Maybe another mod is conflicting with it? Is anyone else having any issues? Its working fine for me?
IceWallow Come 1 Sep, 2017 @ 2:56am
When I check in the armoury, I don't see the weapons anywhere, it dosn't work on base game either. Did you change the way we get them? If not thensome mod I have isn't compatible.
[OG]CombatMedic02  [author] 31 Aug, 2017 @ 4:53pm
I just checked this and it seems to be working okay for me on WOTC? Are you playing the base game or the new DLC? I didn't actually have to change anything for this one, it should be working for both games.
