Divine_Cheesestick 8. feb. 2020 kl. 11:46

Dr_Shadox 23. okt. 2019 kl. 11:56
Hey , can you make an alternate version with only the warping animation and sound please ?
(so without music for warp transition).
Leeloo 1. nov. 2018 kl. 4:06
Buttlet32, i have personally tested this FU, it works perfectly as FU doesnt modify the teleport beam in any way :) enjoy your megamans, i know i did
Super Brasilis 19. sep. 2018 kl. 13:43
teleport of Megaman X5 would be nice, because this one is 8 bit and reminds the hardest kind of megaman to play
Mattandthepimps 4. mar. 2018 kl. 18:16
why hasnt anyone made a megaman race mod on steam workshop? with zero and his pet and stuff?
Detta 4. jan. 2018 kl. 15:03
It's amazing but the problem is my loading is so fast it plays the boss select theme for a split second and it gets annoying after a while. I'd love if it was just the teleport noise and that's it.
AxelVoss 24. dec. 2017 kl. 0:32
There are so many fucking great mods for this game I swear
Slugpup 7. nov. 2017 kl. 3:41
Is this a client mod I can just use on servers without a problem?
Buttlet32 13. aug. 2017 kl. 13:32
Is this mod compatible with the FU mod?
Naii Starwing 4. aug. 2017 kl. 21:47
Now if only someone could make a mod that makes killing an NPC or player make the Mega Man 2 death sound and animation, with the circles flying out.
Ezel 4. apr. 2017 kl. 3:21
sorry to bother but could someone come out with the weapon mod for megaman's weapons?
Super Brasilis 12. mar. 2017 kl. 12:00

I just had an idea (due to that suggestion about the slime race... and some things from Minecraft as well).

While this could be a separate mod, I'll still say it here. (And yes, I know it might be impossible to correctly create this idea.)

Including a simple config per race that toggles some randomness in the beam that makes sense for the race's beam. Example for the slimes mentioned could be that it seems to wiggle like the slimes in games such as Terraria. An example for the Glitch, sparks. Humans.. parts like the head pokes out randomly. A race with psyonic powers... asteroid pieces slowly come from the bottom of the screen & smash with ones that are stationary (which is visually moving downwards at a fast speed) (assuming beaming up).
GamerGril 4. feb. 2017 kl. 10:20
Yay! awesome :3
firubii  [ophavsmand] 4. feb. 2017 kl. 7:41
I could definitely do that. I just need to think of which weapon palette to use.
GamerGril 3. feb. 2017 kl. 15:54
any chance of implementing the slime race mod by Xel so they have a color?
CtrlAltCuteness 21. dec. 2016 kl. 10:56
Plant the thing inbetween these, removing spaces, to get it to not parse the tag things:
Start of it is: [nopa rse]
End of it is: [/nopa]
So I can actually go from bold to [b]raw showing up[/b]
firubii  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2016 kl. 10:13
@CtrlAltCuteness
Dang. I didn't think of how it treats brackets.
CtrlAltCuteness 21. dec. 2016 kl. 9:55
@FruitMage
Yeah... That's true... Unfortunately, the Steam UI likes to make it a link and all that baloney (making it impossible just to get the name in full and the name alone) :steamfacepalm:
firubii  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2016 kl. 9:41
@CtrltCuteness
Oh, well I just copy-pasted your username (and have been). It makes it easier to type.
CtrlAltCuteness 21. dec. 2016 kl. 9:20
For future reference, you can drop the [] part... I use it to identify what I'm actively doing at whatever time. ... and wow.... that seems to be reasonable. :steamhappy:

From what I've seen from the sprites, all death events use the same animation. I believe there's an exception for penguins, as they have their own animation to fit with their size.
CtrlAltCuteness 19. dec. 2016 kl. 13:52
@FruitMage , @laeyan Elyuex
Since I haven't done much modding of Starbound in a while (haven't even played it since I got L4D2), is there like a API call to "hook" into any NPCs death event? I know that would be an easy way to do it, but it would become difficult to override all the possible different animations / sounds without touching the code that some NPCs need to run on their own death events (like to progress the storyline, etc.)
firubii  [ophavsmand] 16. dec. 2016 kl. 7:59
@Ctrl-Alt-Cuteness , @Iaeyan Elyuex
Looking back at the files for the animations, I can see it's possible to increase/decrease the size and the amount of frames in each animation. So yes, it is actually possible.
CtrlAltCuteness 16. dec. 2016 kl. 7:55
@Iaeyan Elyuex , @FruitMage [[continued]]
Maybe 3 versions? This one already here (beam-only), one with an explode on the player(s) only (contains beam), and one with all NPCs and beam.
CtrlAltCuteness 16. dec. 2016 kl. 7:53
@Iaeyan Elyuex , @FruitMage
I assume that idea would be best as a separate mod as some people might have conflicting data already in their mod setup.
firubii  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2016 kl. 7:23
@laeyan Elyuex
Well, that's a little difficult, but I can definitely do the death sound. The animation I'm really not sure about, but I'm sure it's possible.
Naii Starwing 12. dec. 2016 kl. 3:24
Can you make it so NPCs and the player use the death animation and sound from Mega Man 2? I don't die often, but it'd be fun to raid an evil Glitch castle and have the robo-peeps explode like Mega Man does. While we're at it, make all the NPCs do that! Everybody explodes! This would probably be one of those client side mods where the explosion particles only render on the user's computer and those of anyone else who has the mod.
CtrlAltCuteness 13. nov. 2016 kl. 13:45
@FruitMage
Thank you for responding. I really do appreciate it. :)
firubii  [ophavsmand] 13. nov. 2016 kl. 13:20
@Ctrl-Alt-Cuteness
Actually, the video is outdated. I need to re-record it but I haven't had time to. I'll get a new one up as soon as I can.
CtrlAltCuteness 11. nov. 2016 kl. 11:35
@FruitMage, I'm just curious... did you have it animate between warping from one place to another? The video doesn't seem to show that to me. (This is the screen shown after clicking the "Beam Up" on the planet and before the ship shows up in the video.)

If it does, ignore the rest of this post.

The fix would be to try to figure out what a good frequency is to flip-flop "frames" of the animation would be, and then add a variant of the full beam itself you already have with the editing the top and bottom of the overall beam (both of those piece segments get cropped half-way while you add a segment somewhere in the middle to offset the cut amount). The result should make it look like the beam is moving through space.
mespi 9. nov. 2016 kl. 16:32
Nice!!
voldeabeilles 21. okt. 2016 kl. 18:12
oh wow you actually did it
firubii  [ophavsmand] 21. okt. 2016 kl. 7:20
Yeah, I'll fix that real quick, along with a few other things such as a music change and some other things.
ICDeadPixels 21. okt. 2016 kl. 5:50
@FruitMage It's a bit of a deal killer for me. I moderate a popular server so I have to be able to run through logs quickly. All those errors really bog down that process. Would there be any way around it? I love the mod, but readability has to take precedence.
firubii  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2016 kl. 17:43
That's because I removed frames of the animations.
ICDeadPixels 16. okt. 2016 kl. 13:46
Leaves my logs with a lot of errors. Here's a hastebin link with them all. http://hastebin.com/jobuzudavu.sql
firubii  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2016 kl. 7:02
I suppose it would be better, but it doesn't loop, and that's why I'm using the Stage Select music.
voldeabeilles 15. okt. 2016 kl. 14:06
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the selected stage theme rather than the stage select theme as the intermission?
firubii  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2016 kl. 11:05
@Kendris
I was thinking of doing that. I think the Level Select music could work well.
KorotaGecko 8. okt. 2016 kl. 11:04
Do you think you could change the intermission sounds (the music that plays while beaming between places),like,obviously,something Megaman related?
Waino 5. okt. 2016 kl. 14:58
This is what I was thinking of when I first saw the teleport animations. Thanks for making this.
firubii  [ophavsmand] 4. okt. 2016 kl. 10:27
@Jason_c_o
I would do that if I knew how Starbound handles Lua.
💖 Officer Hotpants 💖 3. okt. 2016 kl. 21:46
Nice. Nostalgic.

@Jason_c_o
Same here. Nothing clashes with the blue-and-black color scheme of my character, ship and bases quite like a bright banana yellow warp animation.
Jason_c_o 3. okt. 2016 kl. 19:17
I wish choosing warp colour were a feature of character creation.
