@Doodel i'm sorry for the incredibly long time it took to respond. I know your frustration, and it's the reason why this mod is dead now -- I just can't update it. It's a problem from the workshop, and they still haven't fixed it.

I've made a music mod that is about 470MB in size, yet when I try to upload it via the in-game EU4 tool it just seems to hang, yet never actually uploads.

@Prince Gumball I think I took that one song from Krajzen's mod ,which doesn't exist anymore. You may want to speak with him,but he is quite a difficult person to contact ( he didn't even accept my friend request on Steam for years ). If you will,let me know how that goes.

Hey Merwitz. Where did you get the song "Fight for Macedonia"? It's great, but I can't find it anywhere.

I really really hope they will add a mod update system like in Hoi4 , because that one is much more stable and you don't need to open the game to update it, you just need to open the launcher..

Hopefully Steam or you can fix the Workshop bug you are having. I do want to download the newly added songs, but letting the Steam Workshop auto-update the mod is much more convenient for me at least.

I'd say keep checking every once and a while to see if Steam manages to do something that allows you to update the mod, its worth a try I suppose.

Hello guys! After a really long time of not doing anything for this mod, I wanted to say sorry for letting you down. It seems the steam workshop doesn't let me update anymore, so from now on I'll update only the dropbox link, which will go live in any moment now. I updated it to 1.21 and added 6 new songs, from Age of Empires II and Cossacks I. I hope you will like them.

@capnrush I don't think that fix will work - there are some songs that simply won't play within the in-game music player.

Is there anyway to randomize the music?

Change supported version 1.18.*.* to 1.19.*.* - save

@Merwitz, what all would need to be done to get those songs working again? Is it some lind of the filepath that got broken somehow, or something to do with the in-game music player?

@Zed haha, it seems you are right. I forgot to delete those sons from the .asset when I deleted them from the .txt file.

(part 2/2, read bottom comment first)

When I (briefly) looked at the music folder of your mod, the files songs.txt, songs.asset, and music.asset seem to have discrepencies between each other, and also between what songs are present in the music folder. To give one example, your music.asset file (downloaded from the direct link) has 3 songs that begin with "AMP_" yet there is only one song in your mod that begins with those letters. Additionally, there is not a single mention of "AMP_" in the songs.txt.

See what I mean? I bet I could find quite a few other errors if I looked through the whole thing.

I recently worked on my own private music mod for Hearts of Iron 4, so I'm familiar with the format the files use.

Feel free to have me test something if you need to.

Are you sure the uploaded files (both on the workshop and the direct download) are fully up to date? I assume you keep a local version of the mod on your computer, maybe that version is different than what we download from either source.

When I tried the workshop version none of the music worked at all. When I tried the direct download version, most of the music worked, however there are a handful of songs (approx. 10) that don't play at all (I looked at the in-game music player and those songs have a play time of 0:00). Since I get different results from both downloads, this tells me that the uploads aren't up to date, or something like that.

-It is interesting that just a very small part of you guys experience this kind of problem. I tested this mod *dozens* of times, and I can assure you it is not a problem from my mod. BTW, check my other replies about versioning . There's nothing broken about that, it is just something that doesn't matter at all.

What do you mean by 'directory files are a complete mess'? may you make it a bit more detailed?

Using the steam workshop versions of this mod is totally broken as ZPanzerZ says. I tried the "direct" download version and it kinda works, but some a lot of songs are broken and your songs directory files are a complete mess.

Has anyone ran into a bug where no music will play? This is the only sound mod I have. While game is loading, it plays main theme. This loops until I select a country and start the game. Main theme finishes, but the next song is silent. Open the music panel and click next song, the next song is silent too. I've run into this with several different music mods, now I'm testing them one at a time trying to find one that doesn't have this, haven't found one yet =(

Just want to give my thanks to the creator, you saved me from the music boredom hell it was after listening the same songs for more than 80 hours. I swear, if I hear "Sha-la-la-la-la" once more.....

@bravasphotos in the mod file, there is a place where you can write what versions does the mod support. In this case, I forgot to update that file, but the mod should work just fine even if it says it is outdated (and it's not). I won't update it very soon because it takes ages for it to upload .
