freezes... guessing the very high sample rate and number of sounds overwhelms the game engine

Very good Mod that adds a lot Ambience to the Game.
Problem is the Game freezes a lot with that mod.

1.) Sometimes when you go back to Geoscape after a Mission
2.) After im done my Turn it freezes during the Alien Turn, sometimes
3.) Whyle Loading the Mission Map, sometimes

This happen often enough that it is annoing but i like the Ambience Sounds a lot.

Next Problem is, after the Game freezes i must Press Control and Alt to restart my PC, control+alt+delete let the Task Manager appear but i cant switch to the Task Manager to end the task from Xenonauts. Restart my PC every time the Mod freezes my game is the most annoing thing.

Not sure what causes my game to hardlock with this mod activated. It's a shame too since I quite like the sounds added.

There is now a LITE version available that has vastly reduced crashing for people which experienced it.

Apparently the freezing might actually be related to quicksaves/autosaves. Try only using manual saves.

There are no conflicting sounds. It seems to be a vanilla Xenonauts bug then that doesn't really have to do with system specs and occurs when loading an in-progress GC mission. The engine used for Xenonauts isn't the best really and is probably the cause (you can read about it in the development diary included in extras).
As I said before try to complete the GC missions in one go or do the other more annoying method of reloading till you're lucky and doesn't freeze anymore.

Yes, freeze occures in GC mission after load. But I doubdt than issue is performanced (Core i5 2.4 GHz + 8 Gb memory). Key indicatuion - freeze appears in screen with GC results, just AFTER push "OK" button. May be it is a result of conflict any sounds?

The mod itself is using the ambient sound system which X:CE introduced and it is simply utilizing the music system of Xenonauts, but with a random timer attached and custom sounds. If your system is weaker than mine (and mine is a really outdated system) it might be the extra strain of the additional sounds on a timer that causes the freezing. In that case I can't really do anything about it. I can recommend trying the compatability version of Xenonauts since it helps improve performance in ground combat for some people.

Did you happen to load a save already in ground combat when the freeze occured? If so, I suspect there's a vanilla Xenonauts bug which occurs with lower spec systems when loading an already in-progress ground combat save, that causes freezing either during loading or afterwards when you complete it. The fix in my case is simply to finish ground combat missions in one go. Restarting and reloading the save repeatedly until it doesn't freeze anymore also works but is more annoying to do. -cont

I have a hanging (up to alt+ctrl+del) in the end of ground combat mission. If I deactivate this mod, mission successful ending. Problem did not solved by increase priority of this mod in modlist. X:CE 0.34.2, log file is empty. Savegame available

This mod is actually really good. It makes the game feel not as quiet a good chunk of the times. However, I do have one compliant. Some sounds just play waaay too much. Such as the air raid sirens and jets flying over. Also the desert maps and Middle East maps has this weird screeching creature in the back ground those goes on for too long.

I dunno if there's a way to code it so that the sounds are more spaced out but I hope there is, also if you could, please add more sounds. Just anything really that might fit the setting of some areas cause again, the original sounds are already constantly replaying.
