Nice! Gonna try it... Why everything is WOTC? I only have Shen's Gift DLC, and I've read that with WOTC the difficulty peaks, and the aesthetic direction was unfortunate in it... Maybe I would take it in the future, not now. Thanks!

How to fix awc, I disabled the mod, but it still messed up my awc.

@Letter The Commander's Choise is only for rookies. If your class is already specialized, so there is nothing to do to change his class, unfortunatelly

If you want the same class, Alpaca, you should get the Commander's Choice mod

Just a warning for people considering this mod: Don't get it. It changes the AWC to only be able to retrain your character's class- you CANNOT respec and keep the same class. It also randomizes the class you get.

This is one of the only mods I've ever seen which actually makes the game worse. Now I have to waste my time respeccing one of my soldiers over and over to get my old class back.

LW2 A Better AWC - Yiniz, yours and that mod are compatible, right? LW2 also?

Wouldn't it be awesome if they were integrated so that to allow for perk pool selection by class instead of rerolling hidden perks only? That way we could select from a potentially complete pool - for a price.

Also, is there anyway to tweak retraining time to allow for selecting which perk/level(s) instead of them all at once? If so it would be fairer and less wasteful, considering one respects for just a few perks at most.

Anyways, just a few ideas for updating this awesome mod!

definitely worth checking out...i'm just worried that by using this it'll not reset the attributes gained by leveling/hidden potential

@mountain Drewitos unfortunately you can't. You have to keep putting that soldier in the AWC until you land on what you want.

how do you choose which class they change into?

I got soldiers loosing stats (like mobility, aim) after retraining, does anyone else have the same issue - and a fix mabe?

@Rooster Illusion I am unable to choose a new class, but sometimes they change to a random class.

@ Rooster Illusion yes I have the same problem I just set the time to retrain to zero and just reroll until the soldier has its class back again, but well might be a bit annoying if you respec often.

Love this mod, but after the LW2 mod, I am unable to choose a new class.

My soldier stays the same class but just allows me to rechoose perks. Is anyone else having this problem?

Good for full class change and cutting down AWC timers which are a bit over the top to be honest, however there is absolutely no control over AWC perks. Based on the description I assumed what it did was allow you to pick AWC perks or at least roll them again.

So I just respeced a character and when they went from assault to sharpshooter they went to max level.

for use this mod with LW2, here is a workaround.
When you viewing soldier's AWC abilities in the barrack, there is a button called "train ability" you can click

It "works" for me, I just can't choose the class when the respec is made, they're given a random class so I just have to keep doing it until I get the class I want.

@edgarcabrera I had exactly the opposite effect. I used it with LW2, and the LW2 AWC abilities weren't trainable, but I could retrain my classes. Maybe its a load-order thing?

I used it with LW2 and it doesn't work, no respec since there is a custom AWC in LW2

does this work with the current version of long war or does it still require the toolbox thing?

I'm not sure if this is caused by another mod or because of the update I got yesterday, but I put a Major Specialist into the AWC just to respec her skills, not her class, and when she came out I was able to promote her all the way to Brigadier.

"That's not right" I say to myself, so I put a Major Assault in and respec his skills and sure enough I can promote him to Brigadier. So I try it again and retrain him to a gunner and I can still promote him up to Brigadier.

I then disabled this mod and retrained my assault and was only able to promote him up to his proper rank.

This Mod is the best. I could'nt get my AWC bonus perks for my Original squad. Now I can. :-)

Was thinking about trying this mod out. Was wondering, does a soldier need to be a certain rank to respec and when I select one will I be given the option right away to change their class or after the respec counter ends?

The ability training time isnt changing and the soldiers are staying the same class even when i choose another at the beggining of respec
