Hi @STORI3D, since the game is now released out of beta, will we ever see an update of this wonderful mod? It seems the game won't be updated any more at least for a very long time if not never...please!!!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 12 Jul, 2018 @ 1:31pm
Hey Titanius. I want to, but I want to see what some of the next Medieval Engineers main updates add to or change about the game. The last time I made these, it was a boatload of work, and then all of it was made redundant or broken with game changes. So I want to wait until blocks & walls & everything are closer to their final form before I try it again.

will this mod ever make a comeback with updates and new things ? :o
Le Grand Sarrazin 6 Oct, 2017 @ 10:14am
Yes, please please, a least just an update for the false wall would make my day!! I used that thing everywhere for hidden castle passages!! Maybe throw it Deepflame's way, I know he loves these sorts of things!!
zigurat 8 Aug, 2017 @ 2:58pm
Please do make an update.
StefanLippetal 15 Jun, 2017 @ 10:48am

It was awesome while it lasted.
Thanks for making such a great mod (and thanks for making an updated better version)

Thanks reloader, I had a hunch this wouldn't work. It also uses the -extremely- old door system from before Planets. I'm going to have to make this a LEGACY mod too. I'll start over with a fresh design for some of these trap doors & false walls, it'll be a lot better.
donraffae 9 May, 2017 @ 12:39pm
Don't work with last update
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 7 Jan, 2017 @ 5:46am
Hi Titanius. It is tricky to place it. It's best to practice a little in an open area so you can see how it places. When you place it, you will get the 1 block of wood floor and you will also get the lever. The lever spawns about 2 blocks away. That's on purpose, so you can pull it from a distance.
titanius anglesmith 6 Jan, 2017 @ 9:54pm
how do you get the wood one to work? placeing it is a bit buggy and i only get 1 block of wood floor ?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 2 Jan, 2017 @ 6:00am
You bet, Lemmy. I really like it too. I hope to have some time to learn the new mechanics and start updating it with new booby traps and tricks.
Lemmy 29 Dec, 2016 @ 9:06am
Thanks for the fix, love this mod!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Dec, 2016 @ 9:56am
Hey Titanius. As promised, I got back into the files for this, and fixed the wooden trap door lever. You can find the hitbox now, and the system works like it's supposed to!
titanius anglesmith 26 Dec, 2016 @ 9:46am
wooden one needs a fix cant get it to work ;(
XCanG 4 Nov, 2016 @ 1:06pm
Yea, I mean that you think.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 4 Nov, 2016 @ 5:36am
Hey Alan, I'm Harry. Thanks for explaining the idea more, I think I get it now. A good idea, one I'll look into... You know, something similar could be made as an escape hatch too. Like a fire escape. You can only activate it when standing on top of it. If you flip the switch, it will descend and lower you down to the ground level safely.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 4 Nov, 2016 @ 5:34am
Hey X C a n G -- so you would like to see the wood floor (and stone wall) look the same, but be a small-grid item so that you can attach cranks & rotors to it to move it manually? I think that can be done. It's an interesting idea, and could add a lot of functionality. Thanks for that!
XCanG 4 Nov, 2016 @ 1:36am
Of course not for that mod, for new one.
XCanG 4 Nov, 2016 @ 1:36am
I have different idea, can you make wooden floor and may be stone wall for small grid? That I just can place it on timber and move by hand crank wheel or by rotor and activate it I need (rotate mostly). Just because right now it no possible to iterate with larger grid by small grid.

Hi, what I was thinking about was something like a pair of shuttters 2x1 block size in perhaps a wooden surround, laying flat. I can't remember the number of staircases that I have built that I then had to build a rooftop building to keep out the rain, then I thought of your window shutter and realized it would work perfectly if scaled up and rotated. By the way do you have a name. I find storied past a bit cumbersome. Al
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 1 Nov, 2016 @ 5:30am
Hi alan. These are great ideas, thanks for the suggestions! Don't be sorry, I'm really glad for a little bit of inspiration & to hear what people are looking for. It's funny you mention the cauldron -- I have been thinking about adding that to the Containers & Accessories mod for many weeks. I agree, would be a big help. I sort of understand what you mean with the stairwell cover. But if you find a picture on the Web that shows what you're thinking, copy the link and post it here for me so I can see better.
alan.warren3 31 Oct, 2016 @ 5:48pm
Can I but in and add more ideas and more pressure. You know it keeps you young and stops the mind from rotting.

One item I would use is the wooden bowl produced in metal. on the lines of a couldron.
My main thought would be is it possible to create a stairwell cover, I'm thinking a 2x1 shape split lengthwise. When the doors are opn they creat railings and when closed the keep out the rain.
If possible an activation button both above and below.

I'm sorry I'm asking a lot but this is something everyone would use.
Thanks again for all the wonderful products
Al

we need more mdos :D
wolfgar7474 27 Oct, 2016 @ 2:46pm
lol right, i know the feeling
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 2:45pm
A great idea wolfgar! When I get time to get back to this I had that idea in mind -- I was going to put the lever one or two levels lower, so you could be on the same level as your victim and could tell exactly when to pull it. So many ideas, so little time! :)
wolfgar7474 27 Oct, 2016 @ 1:38pm
Idea for the trapdoor.

Drop some rocks surprise

Great news! You're very welcome
titanius anglesmith 27 Oct, 2016 @ 12:45pm
it works !!! happy days ty buddy :D
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 10:15am
There we go. Try it now. The hitbox is about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom, right in the center. It should be findable on both sides of the door, and findable whether the door is open or closed. Let me know how it works for you!
titanius anglesmith 27 Oct, 2016 @ 9:53am
STORI3D PAST# ahhh ok ty buddy :D
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Oct, 2016 @ 9:52am
Hey Lightning. This is a problem with the new Planets update. They changed how the hitboxes work. Mine is now buried deeply inside the hidden wall & not findable! Let me see if I can rework the file and make it visible again. Give me a few minutes...
titanius anglesmith 27 Oct, 2016 @ 9:50am
can someone help me out... :( i cant for the life of me get the hidden wall to work O_O
DiegoKevin 3 Oct, 2016 @ 7:52am
no need to have the same hitbox do two things, better to have 2 hitboxes, less chance of easily discovering the hidden use of the hitbox.

for example the lever hitbox on torch would be on the base where it connects to the wall.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 2 Oct, 2016 @ 6:04pm
I'd love to have a lever with multiple hitboxes. I haven't figured out a way yet for the game to recognize them. But that could just be me! The torch that's a torch -and- a lever would be a great trick, and a lot easier to blend into a build. I'll look into it. Separating the trap & lever right now aren't really possible -- the one is completely locked into the other's position & angle. Move the one and the other moves with it. It's juuuuust possible to use the "Torsion Bar" mechanic with a rope and turning block to do something like that. Worth looking at! I like the fireplace idea too. If I can get a hitbox that does two things at once that would make soooo many things possible.
DiegoKevin 2 Oct, 2016 @ 1:43pm
By the way, what about making the lever a normal torch with 2 hitboxes, 1 for the fire another for the door.

It would be perfect if you could sepaate the lever and the trap itself so it could be placed anywhere, but I know it would be hellisly complicated. I can only think of tinkering with the rope drum / rope / rotating handle for mechanisms that I not remember the name of... scripts to get a connection from any (reasonable) distance.

Plus another idea, Fireplace door, looks like normal fireplace mod block with two decorations on sides, but one is a lever that switches off fire and opens back brick side so you can walk/crouch through the fireplace like an arch/door.

Pointy hat and everything! Lol, thanks a lot. I hope you have fun with it!

@DiegoKevin: The disguised stone wall is in the game now. Enjoy ;)
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 28 Sep, 2016 @ 5:35pm
Haha. "Wrong lever Kronk!" Thanks DiegoKevin! I'm glad you're liking this. I'm -totally- thinking of the disguised stone wall door, it's the perfect size & fit. I'm going to start working on it soon, hopefully.

Doors windows and moving covers everywhere

Now on a serious note, all this shit is really stupidly useful, like this thing right here I never knew I needed it but I do and its better than my cathc block monstruosities (plus it fits on small spaces).

@STORI3D PAST Productions keep up the awesome work!
(and right now a disguised stone wall door is coming to mind, and "Wrong lever Kronk!!" scenes too. ·_· I really dont know what has gotten into me.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 2:25pm
Hey alan. I don't mind at all, and you're way too kind! That's a great idea to use it less as a trap and more as a pull-down access point -- like attics in houses today. Lining up the floors to look right could be tricky, but it's worth giving it a shot.
alan.warren3 27 Sep, 2016 @ 2:04pm
Neat, have been trying to link more than one, is it possible
The trapdoor I had in mind was to open a quarter of a floorboard block when used as a ceiling so a ladder can be dropped or places.
I hope you dont mind my many requests but you are the best thing that has happened to this game.
Alan

Awesome!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 10:19am
Lol, thanks much, both of you. Enjoy! I'm going to keep trying to tweak that hitbox so it looks & works the best I can get it.

Locked doors and traps come to my house now lol. Thanks!
