Also {LINK REMOVED}https://www.thinking.withportals.com/ was a resource i used back in the day
is it possible to inport it into hammer, edit the character and inport it back into the build in editor?
and is it possible to edit co-op characters?
It's all about perspective, no cares compared to how much they used to. What I mean by this, is there was a massive interest in Portal 2 when it came out, and again PeTI arrived, other than that it's just the hardcore fans left. The people that played Portal 1, Portal 2, all the mods that I don't recall the names of from before steam workshop exsisted. There's still people interested and if you read my comment fully, you would of read that I said 'apart from a select few'. These are the people I was referring to. I am still interested in portal 2, but the general interest has significantly dropped.
As far as the modding community, I would imagine that the community gained a good chunk of people when PeTI arrived, one of my most popular Youtube vids was about taking PeTI maps and putting them into Hammer(when there was still an issue with that) So I'm sure that the modding community has indeed grown, but again, the interest in all this has dropped.
So to summarize, I didn't want to have to right a couple of paragraphs explaining the retention of people to the game, but apparently a simple statement with a clause at the end was over your head.
No one cares about Portal 2 or it's modding community apart from a select few, compared to it's heyday is a generalization I grant you, but still accurate.
Also, I might add, as much as I'm 'hating' on the community and the game, and I don't frequently visit like I used to, I am a fan of both the game and community. It's just not as popular as it once was.
Just look at the Steam Greenlight. some project had a couple thousand yes votes in the first few weeks.
use a trigger_once with an output to an ambent_genaric.
in the ambient_generic you can choose ANY sound in portal 2 (other than cut seens)
I also wish Valve could add if you wanted the player to start with a portal gun or not.
I ALSO WISH they could give an area if you wanted to change the map ( What it looks like, if its been destroyed, new, or when Wheatly took over)
And I also think the creator has a good idea too, that you can choose what your player looks like!
Thank you for your Steam Workshop Contribution 'Dear Valve'.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, the developers of "Portal 2" had to flag it as "incompatible", so it cannot be used within "Portal 2".
You can learn more about what kinds of items are accepted and why certain items are marked as "incompatible" here: http://thinkwithportals.com/
