NWI has its flaws, yes. But I've seen worse, far worse, Zastels. EA or Activision, for example.

This game's good, although feels incomplete since it lacks some more content. Modding is a great tool, though. This is one of the positive points to still recommend this game outside of the fact that it barely has a playerbase.

I would but only if someone was willing to help me do the AI and game mode scripting. It is one of the reasons I gave up was fighting with the coding aspect when I just wanted to do level design. I'd be willing to pay that person in crypto currencies, if you know someone skilled have them contact me.

Mallet, there was a mod for one the first CoD's with Aachen mini-campaign.

It was pretty ok, check it out if you want.

As for you Zast - develop for yourself, for friends, for the community, either the general one or some clan-like crews. These will be the people who will enjoy and support You.

That's the reality of most games, so stick it to those who are worthy of your dev-time.

I hope that you may can help me. If i start custom maps from the practice menu, im not able to join an army. I can only stay in spectator mode and the join army button is greyed out. This is really stressing me out, because lots of maps are very awesome and they increase the variety of the game alot. I would be really happy if you could help me pls ^^

I go in command, type map aachen, loads up the map, but then I can't even start the match! it says it needs more players, and I can't choose what unit I want to be in! What do I do?

Hey. I just want you to know. This battle holds a special place in my heart. Ever since reading "grunts" I've always wanted to see this map in a video game. Please, just know that I feel sorry for your situation and that I encourage you to do what you feel best. However, I also encourage you to talk to the {WeB} community. They will put their backs out to help you. If you ever decide to make this co op compatible, it would be a blessing. It sucks that he NWI team relies so much on community mappers but from your case, doesn't interact with them. Thanks for putting so much effort into this map, it doesn't go unappreciated

Such a shame Zastels your map is visually stunning...if our guys could help in any way I'm sure they will but it sounds to me like you have made your mind up and won't be moving this project forward. Well thank you for recognizing that, but NWI has refused to provide me feedback, they're not using their trello properly, I'm map making blind. They only thing that they ever had to do to keep me happy was provide 5 minutes of feedback and answer basic questions about controlling AI. For the hundreds of hours I've poured into the design, all I ask is a few minutes of their time. I refuse to be an outsider in an Early Access game. I stepped up, they shunned me, so they get someone else to make them a map for free. I don't have money, I don't presently have a job, I'm not working for free for people who ignore me.

First of all,
Holy sh*t, that reminds me so much of mp_berlin from the good old days. And that is meant to be a huge compliment! I can see sneaky snipers, relentless rifle battle and hard fought battle grounds in this map. Atmospherically speaking it is grand - even at a point where some details are sure missing. But you are not only on a good but a certain way to complete a detailled, optimized and great looking map. You managed to pack a war-torn city believably into a game. Really, so far the most impressive piece of work I have seen since the competition started. Congratulations on that talent.
Keep on it and add those missing details. Mainly talking about "room after room syndrome" for the CQB part of the map. And another note would be some really empty corners of the map. The third and last big deal are missing parts of buildings like near "Central Aachen".

I presently have bots working great, the whole map has been improved in every single area, a few new routes, lots and lots more cover! Over the next week I'll be refining bot behavior and improving the interior sections of the map. I am also considering adding one final cap point in order to improve the flow of the map. Stay tuned!

Subscribe to the map, and then open Day of Infamy, open console, type "map aachen".

In the coming weeks I'll have the map available on dedicated servers as well as with bots in a coop mode.
