the link to the smithing version is broken. could you please reupload it

It'd be super cool if you could tweak this mod's name to be like, Meltdown (Tinker) and upload Meltdown (Smith) or something. I absolutely am unable to work within steam's folders to manually install mods.

This being tinkering instead of smithing makes no bloody sense. Really annoying that the smithing version is not available on the workshop.

What, you've never had a horde of useless weapons following you around?
KelpTheGreat 10 Jun, 2017 @ 7:14pm
"I don't know about you, but I always end up with tons of useless weapons that I try to horde until I can sell them."
You mean "hoard". To hoard something is to keep a lot of it. A "horde" is a large group of people or monsters.

I had this mod installed and loved it. Then I noticed there was another mod that not only had smelting down equipment as part of it, but it made numerous items in the game previously uncraftable craftable when those items had other parts of their set and other recipes associated with them available...
I never realized however how many MANY things this has though, and when uninstalled, I noticed that the amount of equipment I could smelt down decreased heavily.
I'm going to subscribe, download, and install all over again, this mod is entirely worth the extra few minutes to use again.
NOTE: This mod if uninstalled on a save game will allow the save game to function, but the recipes added in via the mod will cause crashes if examined and/or used until the mod is reinstalled. This mod can safely be removed and apparently reinstalled based on what I've experienced. I reccomend everyone make sure to take in mind these not so obvious things when commenting.

MOD IS BROKEN

This mod randomly damages your saved game, making it unloadable.
"This gams save appears to be corrupted or incomplete.Couldn't load mod "Meltdown"

Game version - latets 23 march 2015, with all DCL's.

@asyaoran20 It sounds like you may want to consider this to be a bit closer to a cheat mod given that it does enable you to gain tonnes of ingots. That being said, you will usually end up with a whole slew of ingots late game anyway, so your call really.
Arron 14 Jul, 2014 @ 4:31pm
Is this mod considered a Cheat Mod or is it balanced?
aubri 3 Jul, 2014 @ 5:32am

I love how you can smelt almost anytihng it so good cuz i allways have a big pocket full of random items and i can just smelt them
KingGrundles 29 Dec, 2013 @ 2:34pm
Why tinkering? Shouldn't this be a smithing ability?
TheMayor 16 Nov, 2013 @ 7:34pm
need to be able to smelt bolts, i get sooo many usless crap bolts laye game i cant do anything with
AKryptid 10 Aug, 2013 @ 7:48am
Yo hoss, is it intended that the weapons that only require one ingot can then be smelted back into two ingots? Because it seems pretty imbalanced. Just a heads up.
Uncle Stoner 28 Jul, 2013 @ 1:26pm
i am having the same problem as Funnynin
The Gaming Archaeologist 9 May, 2013 @ 4:10am
Now this is what I wanted. I too keep getting so many useless weapons. Glad I can de-forge them now.
root.369 5 Apr, 2013 @ 5:59pm
FOR THE HORDE!
:) 11 Feb, 2013 @ 4:43am
this just makes a load of recepies with blank spaces that craft into either OTHER blanks, or already vanilla items (this has no requirements). Also, the game crashes on mouseover of the blanks...
Korzodin 2 Nov, 2012 @ 3:44pm
Pretty cool. Bit of warning, though, don't smelt the shopkeeper's stuff before you buy it. Kinda screwed me over, heh.
Zesty the Hermit 31 Oct, 2012 @ 6:17am
cool mod subscribed :)
SHiLLySiT  [author] 12 Sep, 2012 @ 9:36pm
@Parakoto You can get a max of 2, as stated in the description.
SHiLLySiT  [author] 12 Sep, 2012 @ 9:35pm
@Lobo Tomi make sure you start with a new character and enable the mod in the launcher.
Dadpool007 12 Sep, 2012 @ 6:51pm
is not working ... :(
jiaxunjason 9 Sep, 2012 @ 2:09pm
Weird, it runs normally now
Jaeger[Herald Hero] 9 Sep, 2012 @ 1:15pm
Is there a cap of how many ingots you can get from an item? because that would be cool
Jaeger[Herald Hero] 6 Sep, 2012 @ 7:38pm
I love this mod. I usually don't go to the shop and just set all useless iron crap into a little stockpile in the pocket dimension. everytime I need some Iron, I just step on it and then craft. Almost game-breaking when you have Perception, though. Lotsa iron then.
jiaxunjason 6 Sep, 2012 @ 2:48pm
Yes
SHiLLySiT  [author] 6 Sep, 2012 @ 8:53am
@liudemg2 Hrm, and if you disable the mod the game runs normally?
jiaxunjason 5 Sep, 2012 @ 12:31pm
Well you know the launcher before you even play the game? when i click the start game button it just freezes up and gives me black screen
SHiLLySiT  [author] 4 Sep, 2012 @ 8:06pm
@liudemg2 Are you starting with a new character or an old one?
jiaxunjason 4 Sep, 2012 @ 3:57pm
It crashes my game everytime i try to play it with this
I'm Doctor Boner 4 Sep, 2012 @ 3:41pm
Hey, just a suggestion--maybe make 2+ caltrops of the same type compressable into ingots!
[Lemons] w!z@rD 2 Sep, 2012 @ 8:21am
Helps a lot and still not unbalanced :D

Good job.
RAYMOO 30 Aug, 2012 @ 6:35pm
This has helped me immensely. Thank you for a wonderful mod that doesn't break the game.
SHiLLySiT  [author] 9 Aug, 2012 @ 8:37pm
@Abe The skill level of smithing/tinkering does affect ingot output. However, ingot output is only increased to 2 at level 4. When I first released the mod the max output was 5, but it ended up being to over powered. Is this what you meant?
Abe 9 Aug, 2012 @ 4:53pm
Would you ever consider making that smithing or tinker changes the ingot output? Is it possible?
Varr 8 Aug, 2012 @ 4:19pm
Excellent, now the massive amount of garbage in my pocket dimension can be turned into more useful garbage!
Hogarth 5 Aug, 2012 @ 12:14am
Such an awesome idea.
SHiLLySiT  [author] 27 Jul, 2012 @ 4:56pm
@Mr.Gee ~ No sound
I had zipped the archive wrong, however I've fixed this now. Go to the thread and re-download the smithing version. Sorry about that!
coolafman 20 Jul, 2012 @ 12:56am
About the best idea that could be conjured for such an amazing game.
Silveryiris 19 Jul, 2012 @ 10:41pm
That's all I needed!
The Insane Hatter 15 Jul, 2012 @ 8:31pm
A must-have.
Shackhal 15 Jul, 2012 @ 8:04pm
Useful! really useful! Thanks for create it! xD
Laccone 14 Jul, 2012 @ 7:03am
Was looking just for something like this
Derp Boy 13 Jul, 2012 @ 8:25pm
Seems interesting. may need to try it later
blarging2000s 12 Jul, 2012 @ 2:26pm
Once you get to mid level you will pretty much have tons and tons of ingots now. The key to this mod is it makes those crappy weapon you get from the lucky find into a resonably good thing early in the game. As for claims of it basicly being infinite ingots, that kindof happens anyway just because of the loot you rack up by the time you reach floor 6.
Grymling 28 Jun, 2012 @ 8:32am
Neccessary evil for lack of storage space
Strl 27 Jun, 2012 @ 4:43am
Breaks the game IMO
