Does this affect stats? i started as bastonne and i feel like my knights are weaker than if i play un modded Bretonnia? or is it just lord bonuses?

randomly in my wood elves campaign (as a minor faction cythral or whatever) the game says "Defeat" and thats it. i cant find any victory conditions however therefore im inclined to believe this isn't supposed to happen. cannot proceed past it happened at like 143 so i had some time invested

Well, you have a large army from the start and can choose what to do - use those powerful units that you have early access to to conquer enough territory to finance them or disband them and go for a slower, less aggressive approach.
The point is that you have the choice to use them or not, what you do with that is up to you.

As you mention the part about Bastonne, I assume you are using the Basic version as it is perfectly fine in the Unlocker+, which comes from my giving them the same units but them missing the lord skill to support them, which I aim to add soonish, once it is updated.

You just have to get your own home province to Level 4, then you can confederate all you want, which is also the only way to acquire the Oak, which should never be a site of battle between Elves.

Is it correct that Daith and Findol (LL's of Elven sub-factions) have a Goblin Archer unit card or isn't that supposed to happen?

If it isn't supposed to be like that I'll start checking for conflicting mods.

ok so i dont have to wait for the wood elves faction to get the oak up to lv three to confederate them got ya whew. now all i need is a way to kill legendary lords for good and Im all set to essentially create my own faction leader lol. the part I have always hated about total war is the rng nature of the generals, glad they are taking steps toward a character creation system of sorts.

The Bretonnian Dukes starting with lore appropriate units is great but kind of useless when you can't sustain the two pegasus knight units as Parravon and end up disbanding them anyway. And AI Bastonne in my game is constantly in the negative in funds and can't sustain their army leading to attrition but they never disband anyone.

Via startpos edits. I'm talking about avoiding anything startpos, so that anyone can do it and without forcing me to add support into the startpos for it. I added support for Elspeth and others into the startpos as I expect them to be permanent parts of my mod (and that Cataph's TEB mod will be used by most of my users who want to play TEB, hence the TEB unique lords), so I don't add support for others like that easily.

You are free to modify the current lord into that, but from I hear, Findol as its current ruler is fairly well known as well.

None of them can capture the Oak via violent means, which is both a bugfix and how it is supposed to be, the Oak is a sign of peace and lasting life, not violence after all. It sure also helps the fact that the AI Wood Elves had a tendency to burn it down quite often.

The only way to acquire it is peacefully via confederating its current owner, which you achieve by growing your home region up to level 4.

there are some problems with the wood elf side of this mod. first the non playable factions wyd and tovo cant capture the oak of ages to upgrade or confederate later. thats a huge disadvantage.

Yeah, it's a known minor visual bug that I can't resolve quite yet. Just unequip his mount and re-equip it if you want (or keep him on foot) to fix it.

maybe its a mod conflict i have, but the faction with the legendary lord Louen Leoncoeur. the model is standing on top of his horse like a scarecrow...totally confused.

Love the mods you do, I've done a few of them. With this one I noticed playing as Daith once he levels up and you select the mounts they actually aren't available in the inventory section to equip and change to

Only really Daith and Findol are Legendary Lords, the other two won't be available again if they are defeated. They intentionally look the same as the main lord to reflect those in the Diplomacy screen, where for technical reasons the real Legendary Lords can't be displayed properly.

Hey, when I play with Wood Elf factions with this mod I start with two legendary lords, identical appearances but with different names (one is called ambassador....). Same with Wydrioth and Torgovann. Is this intentional/ are there any easily accesible data files to make them look different for immersions sake?

I changed the structure of my Faction Unlockers, which means that this is not a standalone mod anymore but instead a Faction Pack submod to be used together with the new core unlocker linked at the top of the description.

Please subscribe to that one to continue playing these factions.

Well, you can use my mod to playtest them for a bit and I think you can do most things other than recruit units or play the official elven factions.

But if you think logically, it should be obvious that I can't override the necessity for a DLC and get away with that. My mods wouldn't exist for long if I did that. Steam is still a business platform for companies that release on it after all.

Ok, i get it now. Sorry, I understand that you could not make the DLC factions playable without purchasing it. And that you unlock factions that not require DLCs but is unplayable for other reasons. Like just not being included. I just got really bummed out since I always wanted to play the elves.

Update!
The diplomacy screen bugs have been resolved via a workaround, which now assigns new "Diplomat" lords to the screen instead of the real faction leaders, which look identical to these lords.
These have been assigned to all factions that did not already have a unique character as faction leader and will effectively act as immortal capital guards, although they cannot be moved outside of the settlements they are assigned to, cost no upkeep and cannot recruit any units.
This fix will require a new campaign start to work.

I tried various other methods on how to do this as well, but this is the only way that really worked and was rather balanced, so until CA fixes this issue properly these will have to stick around.

Victory Conditions should be up tomorrow, hopefully soon also the compatibility restoration for older saves, as I didn't get around to push quite everything that I wanted into this update yet.

Update: Among other things, all unique Bretonnia functionality now works for all factions!

Highlights:

⚫ Rebalanced all lacking Bretonnia Minor Faction Settlement Buildings & Starting Units to be lore accurate, balanced like the official factions and appropriate within the knight/peasant system.
⚫ All of the Heraldry techs in the Bretonnia tech trees are now optimized for their factions and follow 2 geographically-based logic lines.
⚫ Karak Ziflin is now a Tier 2 Settlement with Walls to better hold themselves against Bastonne.
⚫ Templehof now starts with a Necromancer Hero to defend themselves a little bit better.
