Possible to have 1 radio with random music (like on a planet).

And maybe be able to change music with interaction key.
Artificer 3. jan. 2020 kl. 16:22
That's not even a photo, it's a emoticon of the hylotl radio

Starbound is almost like the sims. There's always people playing it, always people going back to it, and always people wanting to mod stuff into it. Like me! :D

Potion Drinker 17. juni 2018 kl. 15:51

Nawmi 16. maj 2018 kl. 18:17

Never play without it.
Xefaria 10. juli 2017 kl. 0:40

Presumptuous Spacemans 6. juli 2017 kl. 18:45

Been really sick lately so I haven't been modding as much as usual. My apologies. I'm not good at making guis so I"ll likely just do what @bk3000 suggested as a new mod. Already have the sprites for it done.
Galifur 14. nov. 2016 kl. 7:05
pherpas you could add, or make a new mod featuring the ability to have radios play a selected song from your song gui. it'd have to have it's own midi sound file, though.

I can probably do it after this weekend. halloween events most of the week.
bk3000 25. okt. 2016 kl. 5:35
Yes, but obviously you need commas between the strings or you'll get a JSON parsing error. That's the idea.
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 23. okt. 2016 kl. 6:03
I'm guessing the command would look liek this? "pool" : [ "song1" "song2" "song3" ],
bk3000 22. okt. 2016 kl. 22:26
It wouldn't be too hard with LUA, but I just realized an easy way which doesn't require you to know LUA. For example check out
/objects/themed/serene/serenedoor.object
starting on line 41
You see they have a pool of choices for sound effects rather than just a single string. You could throw a different string in that pool for each song.

And you could document your path/filename plus maybe that object's JSON itself. Put it in a discussion here or on the SB forum. That way people know what to patch if they're going to do that.
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 22. okt. 2016 kl. 20:04
that would be cool but I have no idea how to do that. I guess I can try to figure it out.
bk3000 22. okt. 2016 kl. 20:01
If you wanted to me more ambitious than that, a GUI to let us choose songs, but short of that a wire node that changes tracks would suffice.
bk3000 22. okt. 2016 kl. 19:59
Two suggestions.
1. A radio that plays a random song from the list of available songs.
2. Make your list into a JSON file. And load it with root.assetJson() - which would allow the mods which add songs to patch this file - in order to add their songs into the list.

What is the name of the radio that plays the main theme song? i really want it in my base so i can play my instrument along with It!
Jenpai 15. sep. 2016 kl. 22:12
I noticed there are no permissions on this mod... Are people allowed to use this mod in their packs and Severs?
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 25. aug. 2016 kl. 10:05
I am going to add custom radio icons to the radios early next week. Would appreciate feedback once they are live. I am also gonna add colony tags.
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2016 kl. 14:25
if it replaces the default songs by name it will play those instead. it plays files by file name.
Bonbon 20. aug. 2016 kl. 11:33
is this only for the default songs? or will it work with songs added in with the default. (FM and Scifi music)
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 18:52
If you notice any issues while hunting let me know, Feedback is a modder's lifeblood imo.
Rathlon Tobias Riverwind 19. aug. 2016 kl. 18:50
Ah ok.
So now the hunt for Horse Head Nebula Radio begins.

Rathlon Tobias Riverwind 19. aug. 2016 kl. 18:47
I'm wondering will this play any of the songs from a mod that replaces the default songs?
Cause I'm using one that replaces the default music with that from Metroid, as well as one that adds in music of Fracin Music.
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 8:31
got someone working on sprites and recolors. any other suggestions?
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 7:08
It will be a painstaking process but I will see what I can do :D
Curcan_ 19. aug. 2016 kl. 6:55
there is also another radio model in game, yo can use that
Curcan_ 19. aug. 2016 kl. 6:54
you can use ms paint to do the sprite change, but programs like photoshop could be helpfull to
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 6:36
there are like 66 tracks in starbound so its gonna be a bit rough to do.
GwenBlanketSpecter  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 6:34
what program would you recommend I do that with?
Curcan_ 19. aug. 2016 kl. 3:28
you could change te color pallete of the radios insted of creating new sprites
Wex 18. aug. 2016 kl. 18:40
Seems cool.
