Assault guns can be made from old variants of armor, I could still keep the unit as a mix of AT and ART but it's not worth the trouble after all the new balance IMHO.
Motorized Artillery is part of the base game, as will be armored car with the next DLC. Amphibious tanks, check, and with better ideas than mine.
Siege artillery is now a commander bonus (and that makes much more sense).
I still have glider tanks, heavy engineers, assault engineers and the special infantry. But let's face it, it's not worth a mod now.
The more I play with the division designer (and some mods for specific NATO counters, black, red etc.), the less I see the point for my fascist or red guard units.
The state of HOI 4 units today is pretty much what I wanted. I'm very happy with that. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the franchise."
Don't hesitate to download the mod and check the sources, it's not that complicated actually.

I guess the fact that would be the end of mod support, if not already, since the next HOI4 expansion is about to be released next year.

I'm sorry @Darktrooper119 I don't have time to help you more. :(
Check my files for assault_gun, it's like tech, translation, equipment (don't forget that), unit (brigade) but if you say the tech doesn't appear it's maybe just a matter of defines, if you did like me with a 4th support tech (the small squares like AT, AA etc.) you have to tell the defines it's OK to have 4 techs, and then to add the icon in the interface. Look in my files you should find everything commented out like DD's addition or something. :)

im trying to revive the 'extra stuff rt56' mod (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1215636234&searchtext=extra) . however, i cannot for the life of me get assault guns to work. they simply dont appear, the research icon is nonexistant. could you offer a suggestion as to where im messing up that might shed some light on this? (in the interface folders, tech.txts, ect?)
also, is siege artillery no longer in this? I DL'd this for comparison and noticed it wasnt there anymore.
