Those saying we have this in the game, no, we don't.
Light sensors do not detect day and night, they detect light. Wear a light epp, or use skills that emnit light anywher near them, and you mess the results.

A solar panel version would also be great.

For all people wanting to use that with FU there is a fix here https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2373239106
Gh0st4rt1st 3. maj 2021 kl. 8:42

Please use "/defaultBlueprints/tier1/-" instead of what you are using in both recipe unlocks in player.config.patch

Something the game should have had for sure. Thanks a lot! +1 to the weather sensor idea :P
Orange Peel Assassin 3. maj 2017 kl. 16:34
Like the mod but can you make a sensor that senses weather?
flowx 30. apr. 2017 kl. 10:04

If we can use spawnmonster command in items, this would make an useful switch to trigger zombie-like monsters to spawn only at night. Cool idea!
ZOIYYK 13. dec. 2016 kl. 6:18
I just love it, I now can follow the night&day cicle inside my underground fluffallo farm so they don't get stressed.

I have a little suggestion, maybe for an other mod.

Weather sensors: a wired sensor that activates its node when there is a particular weather, there might be different sensors for each weather possibility or just a configurable one.

Don't know if that's even feasible.
Static Viper 5. nov. 2016 kl. 17:42
@Devin You do realize these aren't -just- from Minecraft, yes?
Royal_Starlord 17. sep. 2016 kl. 11:43
I can use this with different colored lights to help tell me if the surface of the planet is in its day or night cycle! :D
Spess Carp 4. sep. 2016 kl. 12:48
Interesting idea. For my bases I would place light sensors outside to toggle when it was night time. Fooled by anybody who shined a flashlight up to it. Gonna try this for sure.
Jones 27 30. aug. 2016 kl. 11:37
perfect
inurliel 21. aug. 2016 kl. 7:47
@Rayne

If ya dont see a use, dont use it, simple as that :b

@Rayne
Well, In this way i know if in the planet it's day or night without need to beam down, you can make a garden with artificial day/night cicle in your submarine or space base, not all the base, i don't know, nobody forces you to install the sensor ;) greetings
Lovasidae 20. aug. 2016 kl. 23:33
@recio

If every planet has its own day and night cycle, that must get weird when travelling between planets. Also, I can kinda understand a simulated day/night in an underground home... it's a cool concept, but turning all the lights off while underground is a questionable idea.
Mega Dook Games  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2016 kl. 12:45
@Rayne / @Domascus

This mod began because i don't like see not gates in my hylotl house, and now i have one placed in my ship and i always carry one with my when i go to work underground also there are people who are using it to make artificial day and night cicles in his bases and ships, i don't know, if you find it usefull it's ok if you don't it is ok too, greetings
Domascus 20. aug. 2016 kl. 11:53
@Capricoat

That's why you run a regular light sensor through a "not" switch. Lights on at night, off during the day. I've been using this method since they implemented wiring and it's never given me any trouble. The only time it ever goes actiavtes at night is when you're walking past with a xenon light pack or something.
Lovasidae 20. aug. 2016 kl. 11:43
This mod is fairly redundant. a well placed light sensor is pretty much the same thing. the only place this might work is places where the light does not change- which you wouldnt want your lights to turn off in those places anyways....
Mega Dook Games  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2016 kl. 10:01
@Marcelievsky

You're welcome!

@Bu887

Now it's in the game ;)
unpredictable dumpster fire 20. aug. 2016 kl. 9:57
you mean this wasent aready in the game im so sad lol iv been looking alover the place i ended up making a wire clock with a couple of doors to turn stuff on and off and then you tell me this isent in the game lol wow gg
Marcelievsky 20. aug. 2016 kl. 7:33
Very useful, thanks!
Mega Dook Games  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2016 kl. 1:13
@Domascus
You can put this sensor in the underground or in your ship, or near of artificial lights, don't need be put it in a place with light, you don't need a not gate for turn on the lights in nights... i think have some advantages over the vanilla sensor, greetings

@EariosRandomness / @Toxic_Shot
I'm glad you find it usefull :) greetings

@Capricoar / | @ShMo
Exactly, enjoy the sensor ;) greetings
Sly-Scale 19. aug. 2016 kl. 19:06
@Domascus, if you shone your flashlight on it, a light-emitting projectile flew past it (i.e. a fire breath against your crew members), or you later wanted to build by the light sensor you'd run into issues. This sensor prevents all that, letting you hide it with the rest of your circuits.
Mr. Mittenz 19. aug. 2016 kl. 18:01
This is better than the one in game because this is strictly for day and night. Artificial light does not activate this sensor. FINALLY!
「CAPPYTALYSM」 19. aug. 2016 kl. 17:36
@Domascus what if you want to make your lights only come on at night? it breaks the cycle because when the lights come on they trigger the light sensor in a neverending on setting
Domascus 19. aug. 2016 kl. 17:18
I don't get the purpose of this at all. As long as you put your light sensor outside with no other lights near it it will always detect the night/day cycle.
One Whole Dragon 19. aug. 2016 kl. 16:50
Yay, now I can make a town with outdoor lights that turn off during the day.
Mega Dook Games  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 14:05
@Fresh

Tto be exact, yes, exists a vanilla item what can make the same thing, but my sensor don't measuring light of any form, the vanilla sensor yes :) greetings

@PandaJuice Gaming
LOL :_)

Mega Dook Games  [ophavsmand] 19. aug. 2016 kl. 6:23
@1seReaper

No you don't have, if you install the mod it show you to craft the sensor but if not you can craft it from the vanilla wiring station, i hope this answer your question, greetings
1stReaper 19. aug. 2016 kl. 5:44
@recio
just had a question...

do i "HAVE" to use the "Tabula Rasa mod" to use this mod?
