@Spider Tiddies, the beam katana lacks a crafting recipe and is unobtainable because starbound removed one of the ingredients it uses a long time ago

This mod in general is very outdated and will only continue to break / become further unusable in different ways as time goes on unless someone other than it's original creator picks it up and begins maintaining it

It is still easily possible for other people to continue to mantain this.

Starbound mods can be made to "patch" other starbound mods, and on the workshop page they can be added as a dependancy.

People subscribe to this mod for assets, patch doesn't contain any outside of new ones, and everything is fine and dandy.

Someone's done just this for odabutso's other mod, the kemono race.

Still - if a talented artist was to reproduce these assets in such a way that the "source" was different they and they alone would be the owners of the new assets - even if they largely resembled the ones from this mod, however any degree of "direct" copying will likely cause a DMCA to be filed if and when the author rises from the grave (which HAS happened - a friend of mine from SE did something similiar - although they didn't claim to be dead they did disappear for almost 2 years (or so i thought - they were still logging in just invisbily)

also the reason they stated that may have something to do with them "Borrowing" copyrighted assets to begin with - because a few years back they closed a loophole that allowed "Redistribution with Attrition" - or basically stealing as long as you "gave credit".

"Do not alter or redistribute the assets included in this mod." - I think it's a shame they stated this before what apparently amounts to dying in real life. I can't read his profile - but his image looks like a grave - and he's been offline for over 570 days (roughly 2 years)
