@Dekario if you want the internal name, check the item json file. I made this mod 7 years ago and don't remember or have the files anymore.

Could be. I'll start pulling down & unpacking my avali mods and see if I can find what's up.

In the mean time, I grabbed this and changed the offending rockets(AvaliRocketNeedle.projectile, ShrapnelMissle.projectile, and avalirocketfrag.projectile) to use "regularexplosion2/regularexplosionknockback.config" instead. It's basically the same visual, and solves the crash.

@Davion I haven't played Starbound in years, but this is the first I've heard about a bug like you're seeing. Given that I do see other people reporting such a mod-breaking bug, I'd be much more inclined to think that you've got some other mod that's conflicting with this one.

Do you have any mods that make changes to the default Avali race module, for instance? I'd check mods like that first.

game crashes on frag rocket explosion when it tries to call the plasma explosion projectile from the actual Avali mod. Might be related to the _metadata file missing the line
"includes" : ["Avali"],

Just wanna let you know that I have finished the reskinned and made sure it doesn't require the Avali mod for people who don't want it but also made sure that it doesn't conflicts with your mod at all. If you wanna check it out, go ahead. I already updated my mod with the new weapon.

Iirc the game doesn't like it when two different mods have files named the same thing. This applies to everything: items, special effects, weapons, races, etc.

If you were going to try and merge the Avali race mod, you'd need to change the internal name of every single asset to make it not conflict with the original.

Just require the avali race for your mod - it won't break anything, and the only affect it would have on people who don't plan to use the race for their character is that you might bump into an avali village every now and then (but they're quite rare).

So, I was looking at the files and I don't think I can do it without causing conflict issues. I'm trying to make it so that my mod doesn't require the Avali race at all as well (I just want it to support the race).

Sadly, I kinda failed horribly.

Greetings, so I do actually really love your weapons and what not but wanna ask...

I have a fun little mod that is Zaros themed (god from RuneScape) and it does have Avali specific items. I wanted to make a Zaros themed rocket launcher based on your design to give the Avali their own Ancient weapon to use to match the armor that they have.

If you're interested to lend a hand or at least give me permission, then it'll be very well appreciated. Otherwise, I don't mind being denied.

@Funtime Cephei I have no idea what an item ID even is in this context. Are you asking for the internal itemName? Because I'm not aware of items being given numberical IDs. If they are, it must be done at runtime, and be dependant on your mod list and load order.

If the itemName is good enough, then are: "avalitier6rpg", "avalirpg", "avalitier10bspear", "avaliclimbingaxe", and "DatafeedHeadset".

If you need more information than this, you can always manually download this mod off of the Chucklefish forums and look at the .json files yourself (link is at the top of the description here).

This might sound silly, but can we have a list of IDs? I recently had a mod of mine update, but for some reason that broke all the crafting of the item.

@BFG5000 It was merged into the Avali base mod (Triage) a long time ago.

So if you have this mod installed, you already have access to the Tech Bows.

@Graphix It's been while since I last player and I suppose that the Avali race could have changed how to craft it, but iirc you either craft the avali workbenches at the normal crafter, or in the 3D printer (can't recall which).

@Jusey1: Frankly the Steam Workshop was always a very bad idea for any game. Mods are never something you should just haphazardly toss into a big pile with little thought or analysis and expect things to work fine.

This is more true for some games than others (e.g. Skyrim), but still applies to everything really. :/

@Jusey1 I really don't play Starbound anymore, sorry. Chucklefish has a nasty habit of massivly overhauling the weapon system every 5 seconds, and odds are very good that the numbers I have set were ballanced for a prior weapon system.

You can always download the version of my mod off of the Starbound modding forums (link is posted above) and edit the damage values youself. It's incredibly easy to do.

If you can manage to open up a text file and look for the word "damage", you have the skillz required to edit the damage values on these weapons. n.nU

Looks good and would download but those weapons damage numbers are way too high to be reasonable, even for top tier.

I really haven't played nor been interested in Starbound for a long time now (can't exactly put my finger on "why", but I really dislike the "final" version's design vs. some of the earlier beta ones).

However, if someone else wants to do this, I give full permission to them to modify this mod for the purpose of adding more element types. I would prefer if anyone who did this made it an addon though, with a dependancy for this mod rather than a standalone version, though.

I was wondering if you could add a version of the RL6 Chimera that has missiles for the FU elements, Radiation, Cosmic, and Shadow? That would be really awesome if you could do that.

I ran into the error myself yesterday but it doesn't crash the game, it just ignores the duplicate declaration and keeps loading. As it stands today, logs don't show the error anymore so no worries on your end.

If this doesn't work, then it probably means that Chucklefish *ONCE AGAIN* decided to screw with how weapons are designed and/or the syntax and coding of their .json files. If that IS the case guys, then I really can't be asked to go learn how to rebuild the files right now guys... They do this once every few patches.

For a game that openly supported mods from the beginning, they seem to put VERY little thought into how changing their base framework will SHATTER trillions of mods each patch (just go look at the "Outdated" mod section on their official forums - it's laughably got more than 2/3 the mod count as all the "unbroken" mods combined...).

Sounds like it must be a mod conflict with another mod that adds the exact same file name? Cuz it's obviously impossible for my mod to have more than one file named the same thing in the same directory......

I'll change my mod's file name or something I guess. *Rolls Eyes*

Alright, I attempted to upload a fix. My Starbound installation is completely shattered atm, and I am not willint to put in the time to reinstall all of my mods, and go over which ones no longer work atm.

So if this does not fix the issue, or if there are other issues, please let me know...

I will look into it when I have the time. Graphene has been a long-standing conflict item with some other mods that add the same item name, and at this point I'm frankly shocked that they decided to do anything about it.

Their previous attitude was something stoopid like "not our problem" iirc whenever the issue was brought up... =.=

You may have a few recipes you need to change the 'graphene' to 'avaligraphene' in order for them to load.
