No. I tried loading and saving with the same (minimalistic) mod setup. The head symbols don't match after loading. You can reload directly after saving and the issue still occurs.

I DO know of one cause of the change in the gene symbol
when your mods change the symbol breaks
this is fixed by loading the xenotype in the xenotype ui and resaving it with the new modlist
this one however
is a vanilla thing

everyone is reporting such issues with all the character editors
its definitely an oddity that not everyone has
ive not had it myself with any of the 3 creators
i do not have the context of what actually causes the issue though sadly
its ether a conflict no ones figured out
or all 3 of the mods have the same problem
No? You don't have the issue that custom genes/races have the wrong symbol (generic base liner head) after loading a preset? That's highly doubtful. I don't have a conflict. You probably just haven't noticed. Other people report colors and stuff getting loaded incorrectly. Anyway, the only way to fix the mismatching symbols is to re-roll all characters from scratch, so what's the point saving them in the first place?

I dont have that issue and neither do a lot of people. Sounds like you have a conflict.
It's good to use if you don't mind the preset files not saving/loading properly, which means you have to create all characters from scratch each time.

Can anyone explain to me, how has EdB become usable once again, because I do remember the fiasco about it breaking saves and what not. Lots of people kept reccomending character editor. So is EdB good to use now?

all 3 of the pawn editors have pretty notable issues
but none are save breaking unless you use char editors def editor function
you can search "alu" the troubleshooter in rw main to see this same explanation

No, I don't have any affiliation with character editor and I don't dev for it. Its simply not as buggy. Edb prepare careuflly is still on the gamebreaking list in rimworld discord and dubs server

this mod is fully bugged and awful, if youre coming to this comments to report a bug, stop using this mod and use character editor instead, this mod has been flagged by the OFFICAL rimworld community as critically gamebreaking if you have other mods, stay away! use character editor instead

I think I've found a bug. Every time I load a colonist that I created previously, they have a different skin color and it's not possible to restore them to their original state. For example, my colonist has a normal skin color, but when I load the character, they suddenly have yellow skin. The gene types are also not transferred :<

I also found a major bug in the mod itself: when you create characters scattered around the world, not all of them load. The ones you already have in the selection, those not in the colony but scattered around the world, can be edited and will then be loaded into the world, but the ones you create, where you want to be able to find them in the world via random encounters, will NOT load.

I wanted to do a round where I tried to reunite a scattered family, but it didn't work because a few of the people weren't loaded. I then noticed that some of the family members weren't displayed on the character's social list. If you use the saved defaults, none of the characters that should be in the world will load, only those who are in the colony from the start.

I only had EdB Prepare Carefully active as a mod, so it must be somewhere in the code.

I found a workaround by manually editing the savefile of the mod there is a command called <Painfactor> it would be cool if that could be implemented into the UI

Also i noticed that skin colours are not saved accurately, my pawn always appears to be slightly gray/ pale when i load him. Character editor has the same issue but it has an option to use fixed shaders, according to them vanilla uses different shaders for custom skin colours. Maybe this can help you fix the problem, if you want to do so

it would be cool if you could add the ability to add pain to permanent injuries
right now i can add a scar and select the damage of the scare but not pain (itching, aching, painful )

Some bugs involving saving/loading pawns and their skin tones being mismatched/unselectable.

I also don't know if this is a bug but I can't add any possessions to specific pawns?

DMCA reports happening in alot of the most popular Workshop mods across multiple games, it has happened before on other workshop heavy games, usually steam just removes the DMCA after reviewing it.

cant change warcaslet armor pieces and switching xenotypes dont actually take effect until you roll the character randomizer dice. Very nitpicky but just informing you of it.

Btw i read somewhere that this mod destroys performance for long term colonies. Is this true?

Xenotype not saving and being unchangable is a real issue. It makes the save preset and save character functions pointless because it doesn't save the most important part of the character.

After customizing my character I get another character details window that appears inside and I am unable to get out. No buttons work. Had to end task the game which sucks as I lose my character I've customized. On version 1.5 clean install

Hi! Thanks for this amazing mode. I would like to suggest an evolution that would allow you to duplicate a pawn, because when loading a pawn and modifying it to change it, the ID remains the same, so afterwards it's a bit of a mess when you have to make the connections. Thanks!

Yes, please... That would also (kinda) fix the reset default symbols for xenotypes after loading a preset which can't be fixed to the correct symbol without creating each person from scratch again.

Could you please, please let us change the xenotype of a pawn without having to delete the pawn and start over losing all the work we already put into it? I spent hours designing a whole clan for a tribal start with complex family relation, only to realize I made a mistake when creating their xenotype, now I have to delet everything I did and start over, it's terrible :-(
