Yes, it's a client-side mod.
Dekrosna 27 Ara 2021 @ 15:03
will this mod work client side?

I may still try though. I just also don't want to bloat these with compatibility patches not everyone will need.
Nia 26 Oca 2020 @ 16:56
fair enough

>hey Tanz, you dont need to make variants for small mods like this. if you make yourself have a higher priority, you can overlay your changes to the resource, modded or not. makes it easy for compatibility with mods like frackin'.

The problem is when many mods fight for top priority. I don't know how to deal with that, or any problems that arise.

>Can an additional branch of this be made for FU ores? or at least add FU ores in this one?

Steam Workshop is probably the worst medium for me to make variants. :c

super great

Can you add support for other mods like Frackin' Universe since it adds more ores that can't be seen. Is there a tag that defines ores or something that could be used?
Paladin Wiggles 28 Tem 2016 @ 9:31
Thanks, combined with your lighting mod should make for a great experience
Shabooboo Goblingobbler 28 Tem 2016 @ 8:27
Alright. Thanks man. Have a good one.

>If you join someones server/someone else joins your server,Will they see the ores glow too? Will they crash? Is it client-side? Just curious. Thanks babycakes.
>Bromeo no homeo

They won't see it and shouldn't crash. It's client-side, but I believe it will still count as an asset mismatch.

Bromeo no homeo :horns:

>Can we get the one that has a more-subtle glow? This one is definitely quite visible.

Yup, it's coming.

Can we get the one that has a more-subtle glow? This one is definitely quite visible.

>I don't suppose you could [make ore glow when they're] within a certain distance from your character and/or line of sight ( like mob visibility ).
>The "subtle" glow of the ore is not very subtle at all...and even in broad daylight they shine through like flares. [snip]
>I like the glow, in the same manner as another mod that puts capital letters ontop of the ore so you can see and differentiate them better, but its rather jaring seeing the ore light up the nights sky underground when you are on the surface...or deep undergound behind 200 tiles of dirt.

[snipped for space]

There's no way to make it proximity-based. But there's also the more subtle version I haven't uploaded yet. It's hard for me to test these during the day, since everything is quite bright and I could only /just/ see these.

Mostly this is also meant to be paired with TanzLO, where people were saying it makes mining nearly impossible.
JoeShmo 27 Tem 2016 @ 19:38
I don't suppose you could change ( or make a different version ( Asking a lot ) ) it so that the glowing effect only happens when they are within a certain distance from your character and/or line of sight ( like mob visibility ).

The "subtle" glow of the ore is not very subtle at all...and even in broad daylight they shine through like flares. I think it would be more prudent to change this version ( leaving the not sublte one as is ) and make it more "imersive".

I like the glow, in the same manner as another mod that puts capital letters ontop of the ore so you can see and differentiate them better, but its rather jaring seeing the ore light up the nights sky underground when you are on the surface...or deep undergound behind 200 tiles of dirt.

>screenshots plz. Also... how far it glows? Is it compataible with your previous mods, change shadows?

The icon is a screenshot. Nothing I'd be able to show will show anything different from what's already there. If you click it, you should see a larger version.

It's compatible with my previous mods, yes. I use them together. :D

It only glows about half a tile in this one, but in the less-subtle one, it glows about a full tile or slightly more.
