No problem at all, glad to be of some help.
Unsub the Steam mod, download the folder from the dropbox link below and put it in the game's Mods folder. If you want to change the time to 15 seconds then edit the file chatbubbles.config.patch with Notepad (Notepad++ recommended) and change the value 10 to 15.

Use my mod instead and they'll stay on screen for 6 seconds. My mod is patch compatible so it'll stay working regardless what Chucklefist do.

After unzipping, edit the chatbubbles.config.patch file with Notepad. Starbound can use unpacked files as long as they are in the mods or user folder.
Alternatively use the asset unpacker in the win32 folder to unpack contents.pak from the workshop folder, change the maxAge value then repack it back to contents.pak - that way I get to keep your sub
