Is there any plan to make this work with Rimatomics? It works fine for everything else but a Solar Flare still causes the reactor to go offline. Not sure if that'd be on your end or the Rimatomics end.

Also, the text says , when dormant it uses puny energy but when the flare happens it switches to tremendous power consumption. I built one and it uses 50W ,I m waiting for a solar flare to see if the problem that others mentioned exist, but I doubt it

It's 50W for my modlist too. Was an easy fix for me using RIMMSqol to put it back to 25000W. I don't think I have any mods that directly affect power other than VFE-power as well.

@John doe: I have a vague memory of someone else reporting something like this. Wasn't able to reproduce the issue; we'll have to go through your mod list and the logs if you want to diagnose it.

Hi, not sure if I've done something wrong, but it is working as intended - nothing is disabled during a solar flare - except it's only drawing 50W. The only power mod that I have installed in VFE - Power.

Mostly working my first try on 1.6 so far!
Was tricky hitting that power demand though mid game.
Light ball and loud speakers didn't seem to get power during flare though.

Could you make a smaller version? Like, not too technologically advanced, because then this mod wouldn't make sense. It would have the range of a lamp; any object within that range wouldn't be affected by a solar flare. It lasts the entire solar flare, and then you have to recharge it. It might cost a lot of components to compensate.

Maybe a very useful device where you has lot of defences use energy grid and a big raid coming when suddenly a solar flare event coming later and you has very few way to defend your colony by forces

It says here 1.6 compatible but in the game's mod menu it says the mod is for 1.5?

@永远的赵日天: Or you don't have enough power. Do you have any batteries? Are you relying on a RimAtomics reactor? That one auto-scrams during flares, you should toggle that off.

I have to reload save bc I got raid by huge amount of insectoid and get hit with solar flare and the shield didn't do anything (also during when I don't have any batteries lol)

@Ratysz when I post the msg I don't have any batteries but I already build a couple but have to wait for another solar flare and I only use the advance power generator (aka vanilla expanded stuff)

idk why but whenever there solar flare and I have the solar shield my magnetic field will ran out of power even tho it only consume 25k while I can produce 36k of electricity

@RiskyBuisness just because solar flare shield protect your base from shorting out, and theoretically allows you base to transmit Coms signal, everyone else would still be unpowered and effectively jammed by EM Interference... and even if they did have their own EM shields protecting their power grids the EM Interference still might be too strong to allow two way communication dues to jamming effect of flare/event

@RiskyBusiness: My take is that the way solar flares knock out electric devices is via, well, electromagnetic interference - we even have other sources of flare-like EMI now. Blocking out the bad EM radiation blocks out useful EM radiation, too - as in, radio waves.

Lightballs and speakers are kind of coincidental. Feel free to think of them as working over Bluetooth or something.

@望月: I don't know what "5w2" or "6w4" is, and I'm going to need more than "device malfunctioned" to go on.

Are you placing the shield inside the RV dimension and expecting it to affect the outside world? That won't work, sadly, and I currently have no interest in spending effort to make it work.

When I used the mod 'RV with built-in PD', the device malfunctioned. My power generation is 5w2 and the battery level is 6w4.
