I have notice a bug infrequently occur with horizontal lifts place in sequence for long distance travel.

When the bug occurs, horizontal lifts will/are able to extend significantly farther than distance then they should be able to, despite both having set a limit for a shorter than maximum distance, and not having an lift compressor attached. They will also phase through blocks when this occurs.

Really like how this allows for lifts to go sideways! Downwards is just a nice extra!
Only issue is that the Advanced Lift have very different recipes. That said, since they can be crafted from the vanilla version, it's not too much of an issue.

Manual controls should work the same though I mever use them so I don't know if that case has been tested. It'll auto call to you in any orientation when you're near the area it would pass through similar to vertical.

Do the manual controls not work when it's sideways, or am I doing something wrong here? And is there any way to call the lift to yourself? In vertical mode, I assume it works like the normal lift, where it auto-calls to you, but does that work in horizontal mode too?

This...... This is so nice
I have saved so much death just by using the upside down elevator!!! Ice caverns scare me no more.

Sorry, I haven't abstracted out that bit to customize it. It's hard coded.

Nice mod! There's any way to reduce even further the volume or mute the lift completely? can I change it myself?
steveman0  [author] 9 Sep, 2018 @ 4:44am
Uh, I never even checked. Maybe? I very rarely use the manual control module.

Greeting Steveman0. (sorry im late to the party, just really getting into the game at v21.18) love this mod. anyway to fix the controlls? only bugs when hanging one from the celing. the home end if flipped. was this intended?

cool
steveman0  [author] 24 Jan, 2017 @ 9:57am
The advanced lift is subject to the same machine loading constraints as vanilla.
jimbob6f 24 Jan, 2017 @ 9:51am
32m without power why steveman0?
steveman0  [author] 3 Jan, 2017 @ 9:22am
@brehmluke I don't see how that could be the case. This mod doesn't really do much of anything with the network. There are really simple commands for transmitting the changes to the lift settings but otherwise everything is locally simulated. If there's an issue with the mod and the network it would be a vanilla side problem that's not likely easily fixable. You and your friends could check the game log for any signs of anything extreme but I don't think you'll find anything related to the mod.
steveman0  [author] 3 Jan, 2017 @ 9:18am
@PhillipK they are limited to 64m as with vanilla. The limitation is an engine limit. I couldn't overcome that if I tried. The multiplayer framework would need to be rewritten to support it.
brehmluke 2 Jan, 2017 @ 1:49pm
Hey, @steveman0 I believe there is a problem with your lift and network clients. I was trying to play with my 2 friends and whenever the 3rd tried to join regardless of which friend was joining 3rd they would get packet loss kick, after some looking around I found that my ISP upload speed was completely pegged at 8-9Mbps, I went through all the mods I use 1 by 1 and when I disabled this lift mod the network traffic dropped down to 1Mbps and they were able to join without problems. If I can get you any logs or anything to help let me know

Hello, @steveman0 i got a quick question :)
Is your lift limitied to 64m for network clients like the vanilla ones are? Or is it possible for you to overcome this issue by scripting it in some way?

The vanilla-lift was "fixed" to 64m for clients. The host was able to use it up to 64m until a short amount of time passed and was reduced to 32m then. Clients can (even with a compressor) only use 64m with a little message that networkclients are unable to use a lift beyond 64m yet :(

i know just wanted to see if it was able to do
steveman0  [author] 9 Dec, 2016 @ 6:01pm
If you need to go more than 256m you're better off with a teleporter at that point.
plusing123 (dragonheart) 9 Dec, 2016 @ 4:04pm
ok well was thinking one massive lift to let you only need one main lift seeing how you cna control them and all XD
steveman0  [author] 8 Dec, 2016 @ 10:07pm
I could make them go further but only with a compressor installed. I haven't seen a need for it given that there's something to see at least every 256m anyway.
plusing123 (dragonheart) 8 Dec, 2016 @ 9:30pm
might as well but are you able to add ones that go farther or will the game not let it work?
steveman0  [author] 25 Nov, 2016 @ 11:12pm
Not without the compressor. The limit is an engine limitation which can't be easily overcome.
MrAnti 25 Nov, 2016 @ 10:59am
Hello,

@steveman0

I would like to know / ask if it is possible to increase the 64M to 128M.

See You.

the picture shows these lifts in the cold caverns so wh not use them to go to the caverns
Shard 1 Aug, 2016 @ 3:38pm
This is an incredibly useful mod, thank you very much for sharing it. The lifts that go down in particular are a huge help when trying to explore the cold/toxic caverns.
AlterranGatekeeper 31 Jul, 2016 @ 9:47pm
I just see something similar to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Magrathean transport baskets (or whatever you want to call them). Nice.
steveman0  [author] 30 Jul, 2016 @ 8:38am
Yep, the additional movement options is just added flexibility in how you use it. The sideways use is quite nice but even just being able to attach it to a ceiling of a large cavern is very convenient compared to what you can do with the vanilla lifts.
upuaut 30 Jul, 2016 @ 7:01am
Oh wait a sec.... This makes it possible to create these moving walkway thingies like in an airport to move distances horizontaly.
upuaut 30 Jul, 2016 @ 7:00am
@HellWatcher - yes but what is this used for?
HellWatcher 30 Jul, 2016 @ 6:25am
The picture show a lift going down and two lifts going horizontal.
Droknar 30 Jul, 2016 @ 5:57am
can you explain what the additional movement options are?
upuaut 30 Jul, 2016 @ 1:54am
What could the additional movement options be?
