Good game.

It was so badly linear that I felt like super boreddd.:steammocking:

Really enjoyed it. Looks like there are several different ways to finish it. Got cube on switch then light bridge under it constantly going off and on so it hops up and down, which was fun, but pointless :) , but got there in the end. Thanks

Very well done. Unique use of a light bridge!
KillCrazy 30 Apr, 2014 @ 8:01am
Nice map, makes you think but is not frustratingly difficult.
edeslash  [author] 30 Jul, 2012 @ 4:51pm
They make the solutions less obvious and the chamber more visually pleasing. :) I think it's important to use black and white surfaces non-obviously (when possible).
1980 30 Jul, 2012 @ 4:38pm
Some of white surfaces weren't used at all. I wonder why they were set up. Anyway, i got it through. Great puzzle :)

Haha, you're welcome. I love stuff like this where switching something on causes the same thing to turn off, and it will repeat indefinitely. There's a few (two and a half, atm) similar videos on my YouTube channel, so check them out if you like.
edeslash  [author] 25 Jun, 2012 @ 4:39pm
That's hilarious, delura! Thanks for the video. Pretty clever.
derula 23 Jun, 2012 @ 3:29am
It was pretty cool!

Great map. Good set of puzzles. Nothing too hard, nothing too esay either. The only point of critics would be this: you used 2 panels for certain cabintes, but you can do it with 1 too by using an OR switch. To do this, use 2 lasers and one relay. Both lasers point to the same relay. The relay opens the panel and both buttons point to one of the lasers.

Difficulty 7/10
Fun 8/10

Great sized rooms. Unfortunate they were not linked together better but the individual puzzles were good.
edeslash  [author] 31 May, 2012 @ 1:34pm
Did you redirect the laser through the flip panel? That's the hard way.

The easy way is to just use the wall in the opposite corner.
TBJ 31 May, 2012 @ 11:46am
Pretty good. I hated the bit with the flipping panel though. Tedious and not rewarding.
SophtBawl 30 May, 2012 @ 5:06pm
i had no problems which means it was easy ;=) .. but nice !!
Heyu 20 May, 2012 @ 2:20pm
ARGH how did I not realize that?
edeslash  [author] 20 May, 2012 @ 2:39am
You can just use two portals in the opposite corner of the room. No need for flip panel.
Heyu 19 May, 2012 @ 7:43pm
A nice map but the part with the flip panel and the laser was somewhat annoying. Was there a trick to it that I wasn't getting?
snackerfork 18 May, 2012 @ 5:00pm
This is easily one of the best workshop puzzles out there right now. It's challenging but not obtuse, the puzzles are unique and fun to solve, and it looks great. Excellent work :)

Don't forget to play my new level Enlightened Ascent for a real challenge! Prepare to think with portals. http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=72554735
Phaaze 18 May, 2012 @ 11:32am
OH. Well, I used portal bumping to get "behind the glass" near the end. Portal bumping is where you shoot a portal at the other portal, and it "bumps" off to the side, even if there's a thin wall in the way.
nordern 18 May, 2012 @ 6:05am
@Edeslash I guess he means the velocity you gain when standing inside a closing portal. A Portal-ninja technique.
If so:
@Flam: No.
Great map btw.
Le Petit Mort 18 May, 2012 @ 2:33am
Good stuff at work here, and the bit with the laser is particularly insidious.
edeslash  [author] 17 May, 2012 @ 2:19pm
I don't even know what portal bumping is. I guess that means no.
Phaaze 17 May, 2012 @ 2:18pm
Are you really supposed to use portal bumping? =/
Zack 17 May, 2012 @ 1:36pm
Again, pretty simple. Fairly enjoyable though.
Dittu 17 May, 2012 @ 11:03am
"HOW THE F- oh I see.. clever." - pretty much every part of this chamber.
edeslash  [author] 16 May, 2012 @ 11:18am
Thank you. I'm planning to release a new map on Friday.

M4RKU5 15 May, 2012 @ 7:07am
Not to be a poster.. but, can you check out my map? It just itches to be tested :) http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=71997538
edeslash  [author] 15 May, 2012 @ 7:02am
Well, as usually in Portal, the most obvious solutions are the hardest to realize. That's what you get for thinking with portals!
M4RKU5 15 May, 2012 @ 7:01am
I tried it again, and found out that you could place it just beside the laser emitter. I did something else last time which made the height different. There was no problem after all, sorry for endangering you :)
edeslash  [author] 15 May, 2012 @ 6:57am
I have had no problems placing the cube in the corner right next to the laser and the receiver. Try subscribing again (unsubscribe if you haven't already) and see if the problem is gone?
M4RKU5 15 May, 2012 @ 6:52am
They're on the same height when you hold the reflecion cube. But you have to let it go to exit, right. That's when the cube lowers itself, and naturally the reflected laser does too.
edeslash  [author] 15 May, 2012 @ 6:39am
The laser catcher you use to open the exit door is at the same height as the laser - just confirmed it. I don't recall it ever being on a higher level. Weird.
M4RKU5 15 May, 2012 @ 6:29am
Loved it :D I had to think other ways than I had before. I was wondering about something though. The laser catcher in the end.. was it supposed to be placed one height above the laser? Because I had to awkardly put the reflection cube on one of the round button platforms to make it activate.
Devasta 15 May, 2012 @ 4:17am
Clever puzzles and some really seemed unsolvable. But after some thinking and trying, I was able to do it. Liked it a lot.
Booji Boy 14 May, 2012 @ 7:51pm
Very good map. I like the idea of being thrown into a chamber with elements that I have to piece together and this map does that and does it well.
Mosfet 14 May, 2012 @ 6:00pm
Just played through again with the changes, dialed in pretty good now. I love your idea of not putting in ways to get stuck and death. The truely puzzle based levels are the best ones. I hate the ones that require spot on twitch marksmanship.
edeslash  [author] 14 May, 2012 @ 2:13pm
Hermit, in what kind of a situation did you find yourself in? What tools did you have to solve the puzzle?

The exit is behind the two light bridges.
Hokrll 14 May, 2012 @ 2:03pm
I give up. I've been stuck in the second room for 20 minutes. It doesn't seem possible. I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to get out.
Stormcrow 14 May, 2012 @ 1:39pm
I played all three of you maps, and thought they were fun.
Thanks!
Stormcrow 14 May, 2012 @ 1:36pm
I got it to work, thanks.
slocik 14 May, 2012 @ 10:38am
still a bit on the easy side, but a fun map
also /v/, oh you
SEGFAULT 14 May, 2012 @ 10:34am
edeslash  [author] 14 May, 2012 @ 10:31am
I want to keep my levels impossible to get stuck in and deathless. That ensures a better experience for players and those two 'elements' are completely useless anyway.
SEGFAULT 14 May, 2012 @ 10:29am
Nice description.
For the test, it was rather easy. nice choise of features though. The buttons to let you out from behing the pannels are unnessercey, you can portal out unless your dumb enough to use the wrong portal.
edeslash  [author] 14 May, 2012 @ 12:06am
Can't believe I was that stupid. I basically added flaw that in yesterday's update. Will fix as soon as I get home.
meltyKitt 13 May, 2012 @ 6:04pm
Right, basically what Damage posted. :V
Mosfet 13 May, 2012 @ 5:56pm
Hey Edeslash, I Love all of your puzzles so far. On this particular one I had a heck of a time figuring out the laser shot on the second puzzle. I did not use the laser receptor on the ceiling, it is intended to be used? This might explain my awkward laser shot. If you want a screen of what I did, let me know. Also I know I was able to expoit the 3rd puzzle without using all of the elements. As to not spoil anything for anyone else here is a link to a screenshot of my expoit (warning spoiler).. http://i47.tinypic.com/2hx7zib.jpg I think if you look at the screenshot you will know exactly how I was able to exploit this. You might want to tweak the locations of some of the elements on the 3rd phase to prevent this. Keep up the good work. I look forward to playing more of your creations.
