This short hair reveals more of her face. We get to see what she looks like. I don't even like short hair on women, but this...works! It's like whoever they modeled Drow after has short hair IRL. Her jawline, cheekbones and favorable shot of the nose (which is large in her character portrait) combine to a functional look. This does make Drow look sexy, as opposed to the traditional hood.
Still, I'd like the option to switch between hood/ice cape.

Makes her completely independent like she should be. She broke off from her people - she is her own person.
