Coolant Corrie The Quaysgate loop to go into Gateshead just after the bridge?
CoolantCorrie 24 May, 2020 @ 1:35am
Gotta do this, just so I can repair the nightmare of the A184 Askew Road/A167 High Street junction - the one where, to turn right, you get stopped by the traffic lights, then must drive round a curved slip-road *back into the same junction* to get stopped by the same traffic lights. Not canny!

I was going to immediately subscribe to this as soon as I saw the angel of the north picture... :steamhappy:

Then I saw the last sentence in the description :steamfacepalm:

But I subscribed anyway because it's Newcastle :steamhappy:

P.S: you should edit it into the final map, haha.

@davidmichaelrobson Do you have the Network Extension Project mod installed? It is required.

For some reason this map is coming up as corrupt? Am I doing something wrong?
GrayWolf  [author] 5 Oct, 2016 @ 9:09am
Hi Chris glad u have enjoyed the map.
I am suprised at the A1 junction behaviour as that was a bug in TM:PE at the start of the map creation which i notice but disappeared after a update of TM:PE. The junction lane errors must have been saved with the map(a quick fix would be to rebuild the junctions).

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll take another look at updating the map as last time it was added as a new workshop item.

I've played around with this plenty now, and I'm still enjoying it. A few things I've noticed and I can't tell if it's a mod I've used or the pre-placed roads being strange.

The 'A1' road has strange traffic behaviour with nearly all traffic using the outside (fast lane) only.

The only other issue I have (and I think this is game related) are underground tunnels raising the land underneath the Tyne, stopping the water flow.

I've been after a Newcastle based map, thanks a lot for this :)
Chris 17 Jul, 2016 @ 8:26am
Ah well that's entirely understandable to include your home town in the map :)
GrayWolf  [author] 17 Jul, 2016 @ 7:14am
Your welcome Chris. All very good points. I wanted to include the coast, but i also live in the west and to have both would have been a very unrealistic scale. As for the resources and forrest; i will update the map. Thanks

Great effort, certainly one of the better Newcastle region maps. I'd personally still like to have had the mouth of the tyne available to mess about with harbours, ports and beaches.

Maybe a few more forest resources in the North and West areas for the outskirts of the Northumberland National Park. I also feel like the coal resource is too low, considering the North-East's strong coal mining heritage and history.

However, I'm still enjoying the map, and pre-built transport connections are fantastic. Thanks!
