Thank you for this!

The British usually get a letter advantage in Scrabble.

@CheekyBlossom
You don't need this, there's a British English language option in the game already.

did not think I'd need this, but I was wrong. great upload

I did not even think about this being a problem when I got this game. Thank you so much!

Nothing petty about spelling words the way you've been taught to. I only just got the game and wasn't even looking for this, but coming across it made me realise how convenient it'd be. Thanks!

Can confirm that you still get achievements with the mod.

Not petty or pointless untill the end of times when English spelling is actually standardised. Thanks, will save me a lot of automatic mistakes.

Hi, brilliant idea with this, I love it.
You mentioned doing the narrative as well at some point. I would like to request this if at all possible.
I am from South Africa and for the most part I stick to British spelling, but there are words for which I am unaware of the spelling, and it would be nice to see them done correctly in the narrative. (Artefact, as an example, until now I had been using artifact)

But whether you do or don't; it's a great mod mod and has my upvote.

Thank god this exists, this wont get in the way of any achievements will it?

Such a good idea

You mean the wrong form of English?
Nosferatu Apologist 11 Apr, 2017 @ 7:36pm
As an American who only barely passed several classes due to my teachers' staunch refusal to accept my use of that lovely extra U in colour or favourite, I agree with all of you.
British English is the only proper English.:steamhappy:

Sparky Stardust Summers had the exact same thought I did. Besides British aren't the only ones that spell words this way. It's every english speaking country but America as far as I know.
Sparky Summers 16 Feb, 2017 @ 9:53am
Could just call this one "English", the American version isn't real English anyway.

Thanks!

Thanks dude, incredible work!

Thank you for this mod! I was worried that I'd start falling into the habit of writing with American english while playing this the entire time:steamhappy:.

Really good idea! Thanks for making this!

@Sarfin Sulfuric is the internationally recognised spelling now. :steamsad:

A hearty thanks to you sir!

Thanks @Sarfrin and @Wild Salmon. I've just released an update that fixes those words.
Wild Salmon 3 Sep, 2016 @ 3:32pm
Great mod - Thanks! I am glad I can play this game without getting into bad habits with US spelling.

Just spotted one change to be made so far: "apnea" should be "apnoea" with british spelling.
Sarfrin 3 Sep, 2016 @ 2:20pm
You missed "sulfuric" - sulphuric.
Sarfrin 3 Sep, 2016 @ 6:03am
Excellent, thank you!

Thank you!

@Rothana - Actually, to be fair they do provide the ability to translate the story text as well but I just didn't :P
My priority was getting the gameplay words translated. Might do the narrative as well at some point if I have time but it doesn't really matter all that much.
Anyway, glad I wasn't the only one having that problem!
Rothana 3 Jul, 2016 @ 7:55pm
Oh wow, I'm so glad there is someone who knows how to make this happen. I've been having exactly the same problem as you describe! I see the word and I type it how it should be spelled.

Now the funny thing is that I've noticed one word at some point that was part of the narrative and written on the floor which was spelled properly. That was quite infuriating to see and then not have the option of having the rest of the gameplay in real English.

A sincere thank you for doing this. :redrose:

Jolly good show, chum. Rightly need the Queen's English or else it's just wrong, wot?
